What does the future hold for Owen and Cristina?
Asked if he would elaborate further on what curveball will be coming Owenstina's way on Grey's Anatomy, as he has previously teased, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello only divulged in today's new Q&A that it is not a pregnancy that the two must confront next.
So scratch that off the list, but we're basically still at square one otherwise.
Any guesses on what's next for this Grey's Anatomy couple, who provided one of the most heartbreaking scenes in recent memory at the end of last week's episode?

thank god it's not a pregnancy. they've already been there with cristina so it would just be repeating. and i don't think she would make the best mother either ;)

I'm glad too that it isn't a pregnancy. That would be too repetitive and out of line.

In my opinion if that story would repeat itself, it wouldn't be the same, Cristina has grown up so much since the end of season 1... I think she would be a great mother. But I prefer to see this wonderful relationship develop like it has been happening this season, without a responsabily like a kid would be.
I don't know what the big curveball could be... it's driving me crazy not knowing!!! xD

I'm thinking his mother may come to the hospital or something like that. Seeing as she doesnt know he is back. That would be something big!

Is it possible that Owen is leaving to Army? That's a curveball, good for owen, bad for relationship?

I thought of that too, but how could he join the army when Kevin McKidd has a contract for next season? The army wouldn't leave a fabulous trauma surgeon Stateside. Plus could he re-enlist if he'd been 'fired'?

But wouldn't it be bad for Owen too? Maybe he has to left to teach George? But I think going back to war could make his PTSD wrost... And the army 'fired' him so how could he be back?
Maybe the curveball is Owen having to undergo surgery like Derek talked about... it's good because it could heal him and their relationship could have a chance, and bad because it's a ricky procedure?
Or maybe it's his mother, and it's goob because she likes Cristina but she is sad for his son, or it's all the contrary...

Maybe Cristina will get hurt or Owen will get hurt and it will bring them together.
Or since in the season finale his mother is coming, she will not like Cristina and he will be a mama's boy and break up with her because of it.
or maybe
he finds out about Burke and will be angry at her because she didn't tell him and he told her all those things
