my heart is still pounding i have just seen it becuase i am in uk an i nearly faited i was hyperventalating literally when he wrote 007 on mers hand i screamed but when izzy remembered and then died i was actully like omg i could not talk

  2. Seriously! Says:

To prepare for the finale, I watched the pilot episode on Wednesday. I hadn't watched in a while and I thought it would be good prespective. The last two seasons have been difficult for alot Grey's fans, and I am included. I thought it would never get the magic back. I was wrong. Last night proved that Shondra Rimes is a brilliant writer. If you go back and watch the pilot you can see the transformation that they have all gone through. It really hits you.

I have never really cared for George. I have always been an Alex/Izzie fan, they have been one of the main reasons I watch. When I heard that George was leaving the show, I really didn't care. It didn't affect me. But, last night when I realized that it was him, it broke my heart. When the girl talked about how she didn't even notice him before he saved her, I thought to myself that sounds like George. When the elevator door opened, I was sure Denny would be behind it. When I saw George in the uniform, I lost it. It was beautiful and symbolic on so many levels. Anyone who says it was like a soap opera hasn't been paying attention for 5 years. Now I want them both back, even though I don't think that will happen. I have hung on for 5 years and thought it all paid off watching Alex and Izzie get married. No matter what happens, the last 5 minutes were unbelieving and heartbreaking. Best season finale since Season 2. Great job to the writers.

  3. greysfanlovethis Says:

I have to agree with all of you when you say "I did not see that coming". I was totally clueless. First I thought George was in surgery and when the chief said he sent him home, I still did not see it. On a George note, I am not sure I like that they put him in the Army uniform. He did not even start! Granted he was a hero for saving the girl, but he was also a hero as a doctor. However, I have to say that if he was dressed as a doctor in "the other side" we would have been totally confused so I guess the right thing was to have him dress in Army uniform. I forgot, I really think we lost him, I just dont see a way that they can bring him back to the show as a doctor.

Izzie I don't think she is really leaving, like some one said she did not get out of the elevator. Her look was even hesitant as to whether or not she wanted to go with George. He was more "at ease". I think we are going to have more Izzie, at least 1 more season and maybe she will not be a regular. She will be in and out with treatment. That will "allow" must of us to get used to the idea of the show without her. They can make us loose 2 of the main characters in 1 season, can they? That would be just mean...

Meredith/Derek it does not really matter (to me) if they "legalize" their union. At least know we see the commitment they refused to make for the longest time!

Christina I think needs to get with Owen, I realized he tried to choke her, but since this is a show, I can "handle" it. It appears that the writers are making him "better" to that respect...

Karev, I just dont want to think about him going thru loosing Izzie, I really like him know.

Bailey needs to finally meet someone that appreciates her and values her for what she does.
Please not with the chief, I like them both but SEPARATELY!

Sloan/little Grey let them move in together, Sloan needs to see he "can" do the actual couple thing. He is a very slow learner, but apparently he is finally learning.

Finally, I think they will do like someone said, they will show the funeral, all the mourning and 1/2 down the show, we will finally learn who it was...

Sorry for such a long post!

  4. greyfanlovethis Says:

I just watch the episode again and I have to say I am not sure George dies. Sloan says that he can fix the arm back to full funtionality. So maybe there is hope..

  5. greyfanlovethis Says:

Sorry, another thing is that Owen also sad (about George) I have seen people come back from worst. You know how the writers always give you "hints" during the show, it is just that we are so wrapped up watching that we don't realize what it means until it happens. So I change my opinion from the previous post, I think we will have them next season.

  6. grey'sC Says:

    A POST IT WEDDING!!!!
it's like we (MerDer fans) waited for five years to watch one of the most beautiful couples of Tv getting married and all we get is a post-it wedding..
i'm really disappointed.. that's all im gonna say..
though the episode was great, intense but great.. i cried a lot when i realized it was george.. im shocked..

i hope shonda can fix this mess!!

  7. grant-o Says:

As a casual watcher of the show when my wife cements me to the seat, I've got to say the finale was quite a smorgasborg of info/emotion

As a day or two in a hospital can kinda run together I just assumed George was somewhere in the facility after the pep talk he gave iz...alas no.

But, if you mean to tell me that as a group of writers, they would kill off a potential full season of story lines if they let george die, I say no soup for you

He or someone in his likeness will 98.9% be back in a role next year without a doubt

Izzie, who knows. She no longer 'sees' her tumor denny but the thing I can't get over is why did george have on his uniform getup? She only saw a vibrant yellow flash card that he joined the army...why wouldn't he be in his drab green scrubs on the other side of the ele...

ah well, plenty of questions and fewer answers... at least you grey's fans get your show back in a few months, unlike this LOST fan :(

  8. maddison Says:

I cried my eyes out when I watched this episode/finale! It was so so heart wrenching and painfully sad to watch! I cried so hard!! I already knew Izzie was going to die and George was either leaving or dying before I watched the episode! But, it did NOT prepare me for their departure at all, it did not soften the BLOW! It made me press pause and stop at the happier scenes or the parts when they remained untouched and alive...Sigh, I was screaming at the TV! haha. my friends thought I was a Loonie. I can't bear to see George die or even Izzie for that matter!! Those two are the heart of the show, they give it a sense of warmth and hope, n encouragement amongst the "misery and cynicism"! I want them to both LIVE SO badly right now you have No idea! It is ironic though that both of them died at the same time...as best friends and at the elevator - so touching! I will MISS THEM SO MUCH if they die!! I dunno if I'll watch Grey's again if they do.

  9. Nikki Says:

OK so Alex was a jerk with Izzie, but George was so tender with her. Now that's why I hate AI and will love Gizzie forever.

That said, my George cannot die.

Izzie has to pull him in the elevator and save him.

George is the soul of this show.

I just love him so much. I won't be watching if he goes.

I hope that if he does die, Izzie does too so my Gizzie can be together forever as they should be.

  10. McGrey's Says:

    George + uniform = eye candy :D

  11. SGHresident Says:

Did anyone else absolutely melt when we got that one gizzy scene?
When Iz goes to George to ask for advice on what to do? He tells her she knows what to do, and that she "knew what to do the minute she decided to fight this thing." Then he holds her. So sweet and heart melting! It made me cry.

ps George looks really good with that haircut at the end!

  12. Nina Says:

From Holland, so just watched it and LOVED IT.

When Izzie asked George for advice was great, because he was the only one who could really help her. Because they will just always be best friends. I knew it was George, because he wasn't there, and he's in all the trauma cases.

When they were about to let Izzie go becaue of the DNR my heart skipped a beat. I really thought she was gonna die.

There were some similarities between the second and this season finale. Izzie was Denny and Alex was Izzie. And ofcourse the last scene. That was so beautiful.

I really hope they won't replace TR for some other actor. That would be so stupid. It would be even better if they would let him go.

  13. Betty Says:

I finally got to see the finale online and damn that was some good tv but poor George, it was heartbreaking Meredith's reaction was played fantastically by EP. I hope I am wrong and both George and Izzie survive but I have a feeling George will die. On a lighter note the MerDer post - it vows were adorable (wish it was legal), now whenever I see a post-it along with an elevator I will smile !

  14. Samantha Says:

Grey's Anatomy Season 5 Finale was the best one yet. I knew when George didn't scrub in for surgery that something had happened to him. It's not like George to not say goodbye to his friends. I just had that feeling. Ellen Pompeo deserves an award for her outstanding performance when she discovered that John Doe was George. That was an amazing moment. Izzie deserves an award for her performance as well. I hope that they both stay, but I have a feeling that George will be the one to die. Shonda Rhimes done a wonderful job this season. I loved every seaso, but this season was by far my favorite finale. Meredith and Derrick getting married with a post-it was sweet, and with that said I think there will be a big wedding in the future. I just don't think everyone can get married right off. It might just change the show a bit. Once Meredith and McDreamy get the happy ending what more is there story going to go. I don't think they will have any breakups or anything. I think that they will end up having some disagreements like most committed couples go through. Keep it up Shonda you are doing a great job.

  15. die_lexie_grey Says:

I have to say that I am still drying my eyes, but the keep on leeking... I think George looked awesome in that uniform, I really love him, he is a great character. I hope neither one dies.

  16. mermer Says:

I personally think that Izzie is going to die.

She already got into the elevator and was about the pass on.

Then the elevator stopped and George was standing (probably waiting to get on).

Izzie must have been happy to see George but then realized that if George joined her, that would mean that he'd pass on as well (which is probably why her smile faded when she realized that she was dying - from the sound of people trying to resuscitate her).

I think she'll let the elevator door shut so that George can't get on.

  17. nehma Says:

TR looked stunning in the uniform!!!
Amazing when Meredith realised it was him. The show wont be the same if Izzy or George die...I think it will be George to die though as his role has decreased throughout this season.

  18. JanisBing Says:

I don't think there's any coming back from Mer and Yang hugging. A line has been crossed, which doesn't mean I'll stop watching because hey, I'm still addicted to the show but I believe this was both completely unnecessary and ludicrous.
Also, as much as I love seeing Jessica Capshaw, it appears to me Arizona and Callie do not belong together. I wish Erica would've stayed.

  19. McLoveGA Says:

Are you crazy JanisBing??? Mer and Yang hugging was one of my favorite parts. It shows how much they have both changed over time and they are not afraid to confront/show their emotions. They have been each others "person" for so long and this was so great to see!

  20. nooz Says:

this episode wazz so sick i realy cried out loud
im begging u i wont watch the show if izzie n 007 died realy i wont

  21. Katie Says:

Omg!! That was the best episode ever. I was so surprised when it was George who joined the army---never saw that coming. I had an instinct that john doe was George but when it actually was my heart stopped! Izzie and George are original characters and they need to stay. Personally I thought Izzie and George were not going to be the ones dying. Ever since the season premier I thought it would be derek. It just would add to all the drama. Izzie will die I predict but George

    hmmmm I don't know.

  22. aliiicattx0 Says:

ooomg i agreee with greysgal! note how izzy is looking distracted and george is on the other side of the elevator and izzy is still on the elevator. if she really was dead she would have stepped off the elevator. and remember when mer was close 2 death and her mom sent her back? i think izzy will live but george will die )= i really hope they both stay on the show. the saddest but yet most remarkable moment was when "john doe" wrote 007 on mer's hand. i stared at the tv forever i was in such shock! GEORGE. seriously now. great twist shonda! i loooved that season finale. we really cant tell who is dead yet. looks like we are going 2 have to wait. all i know is its gonna be a loooong summer.!

  23. Brenda Says:

It was amazing and I was truly shocked when John Doe wrote 007 on Merediths hand. He was the one that saved that girl. I really want him to live and it would be so cool if he would hook up with his push out of the way of an incoming bus girl. I felt really sorry for Alex. I wonder what made her Izzie go limp like that? It was sad, really sad. I can't wait for the next season!!!

  24. Connie Says:

George is sooo wonderful in this pic! How I hope no-one of them 'll die, even if I know that George is gone!! OMG! and the 007 thing... It was perfect. I cried for over 2 hours only for that scene. Of course, I also cried 3 days for the whole episodes, but this is obvious. Mer, Iz, Cristina, George and Alex were the fabulous 5. What if they're fabulous 4, or, worse, fabulous 3, in Shonda's head?
BTW, the actors were soo damn good. I loved Bailey in this episode. Of couse, I always love Chandra, but when she screamed at the chief that her husband was a weak... God, I didn't see her like that since she had her baby. I'm 'glad' she's gonna leave her husband, he didn't understand how GREAT that beautiful, brilliant, magnificent woman is.
Katherine and Justin were amazing, together and alone. I think they both have to win an Emmy, but it wouldn't be enough for such good actors. BTW, I can say it loud: BEST SEASON FINALE EVER.

  25. Jo Says:

What did the 007 mean to Meredith? What does that have to do with George? Did I miss something?
