I have to say, I am pretty pissed off. Why couldn't they just leave it as George going into the army? Why did they have to have him hit by a bus and then made unrecognizable? I absolutely love George. Even though I'm afraid he is going to die, I'm praying he doesn't. As far as Izzie goes, I don't want her to die either. But if she does, atleast they prepared us. This thing with George was uncalled for! After crying hysterically for several minutes, I'm just completely angry!

In an earlier comment someone was mentioning how well all the actors were in this episode and that Justin Chambers deserves an Emmy.....what about Ellen Pompeo? She was absolutely incredible in this episode and without her there would be no show. She is the one who deserves an Emmy!!!

Not sure who will die, if either. I was thinking. Since George suffered so many facial injuries, they could get ANYONE to play him. Doesn't have to be T.R. returning next season. Just a thought.

Thanks Cee, I remember now. This is going to be the longest summer ever waiting for the new season.
This was BY FAR the BEST Finale Ive seen of any show -- and THANK GOD Grey's is back to its incredible writing and story telling. Clearly, this threw everyone into an emotional tail spin, Im really REALLY surprised anything wasnt leaked about George before this.
1 -- When John Doe came in I thought, for sure its someone we know -- the WRITING, however, played a HUGE role into leading you to believe there's NO WAY we could know this person -- everyone, even if BRIEFLY was "around". INCREDIBLE!! Also, after Mer drills into "John Doe's" head and we see his eyes open -- It hit me that those eyes looked SO SO SO familiar -- I thought they looked like Owens, realized he was in the room, and quickly went back to the Izzie Drama. Not even CONSIDERING George!!
2 -- I really felt, in my gut, after that last scene that George dies and Izzie lives. Im upset by this -- Izzie just never hit a cord with me, and her storyline this season was TOO "soap opera" -- NOT Grey's at ALL!! I was READY for her to go -- her storyline really almost lost me this season. And between having them on opposite sides of the elevator, and Izzie "realizing" in her eyes what was going on -- I really believe she stays. -- That last scene was INCREDIBLY well put together and edited though. Whoever did that -- needs to receive an award. That is one haunting TV image, and I agree with whoever said that the person who did this scene MUST known what a great loss is like -- it is absolutely like that hazy/glistening glow -- both depressing and peaceful.
3 -- I would LOVE to see George come back and explore this storyline -- Im not really crazy about another actor taking on the role, Id rather them end it with TR Knight if it came down to that...BUT, can see the possibility of another actor taking over there. Also, I can see them killing them BOTH off -- I think its highly unlikely (like I said, I really feel like Izzie lives) -- but it'd be "perfect" in a sense that these Best Friends & Soul Mates should exit at the same time. PLUS, no other show has killed off TWO MAJOR characters at ONE time -- unless, the show itself was over. So...that's another "first" for Grey's, if it went down that road.
4 -- I LOVED Mer/Der's "wedding" -- it is absolutely 100% THEM. LOVED their vows. That being said, it IS NOT an official wedding -- so -- I could see the potential for issues there, and they placed A LOT of focus on that post it note in the locker -- emphasis like that MEANS something (ie -- George's Eyes!) So keep an eye on that tricky post it!! :)
INSANE EPISODE -- By far the BEST Episode of Greys EVER!! Amazing job to EVERYONE who worked on that. Now we just have to WAIT until September?!?!?!?! Ack!!

the connection to George and 007 is in the first day as interns George got to do an apendectomy and he nearly killed the guy.

I have to say that was better than the Denny LVAD wire finale. I both love Shonda (she has got to be the best at keeping fans in suspense and keeping a secret)and hate her right now, LOL. To put the lives of BOTH George and Izzie, who are both my favorite charactors, is just....ughh, LOL, something to be admired and despised. If both die, not even ER killed off 2 main charactors...
I think that one lives and one dies but I don't know who I would say would be the living one. I love them both! I would love to see both live and we move on from this and look back and laugh at how silly we were to get worked up....ahhhh there is hope, right???
I was so stunned--I had been working on the computer at the time and the moment Izzie suddenly dropped and then we realized that John Doe was Georgie, I stopped...and by the end I was a blubbering mess! Still stunned and don't want to sit through a summer of not knowing, LOL!
OMG! Best season finale yet...Shonda Rhimes really brought the drama on this one.
I thought George was John Doe but I wasn't sure since he was supposed to be in surgery with the Chief...and 007, Wow...Izzie got her memory back and coded, they're technically not dead yet...they're just coding but wow, quite a cliffhanger.
Post-it wedding wasn't too bad...Love all the scenes!!!

What does the 007 mean. None of us could remember.
I never thought of George as hot, til he was standing there in the uniform and buzz cut. Wow! He was always cute to me, but that was a hot look for him!
I really hope that neither of them die. I bet George does though. I don't know why, but I have the feeling he won't be back, like he will push Izzie back to save her like he did the girl in front of the bus. sacrifice himself. I should just buy stock in kleenex! I have been a blubbering idiot the past couple of Thursdays!

All I can say is WOW! When they first brought John Doe in I knew it was going to be someone we know but totally did NOT expect that!!! I have a feeling they're not going to kill either off, and the story for George will be somewhat like it was for Alex and Rebecca except George knows who he is.
I have a question though, the soldier that got his leg cut off, for the life of me I can't figure out who this actor is..I've seen him before but I can't put a name with a face...does anybody know?
********PLEASE READ AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK*********
Im just gonna throw this out there, and I dont know if anyone has come up with this yet. If you watch the last scene again, Derek says, "Ok lets put him out", meaning kill him and bring him back to life (like Joe in season 2, George saved his life), meaning that could be the reason izzie saw George off the elevator, but does not mean that he can't be brought back to life. Let me know what you all think!

'007' is George's nickname from the very first episode - when he was doing an appendectomy with Burke and nearly killed the patient, all the other interns started calling him 007 (License to Kill).
As for the finale - if they live, die, or whatever, you have to say that the elevator scene between the two of them was beautifully done. Absolutely fantastic.

I would very much appreciate it if anyone can provide me with meredith's narrative at the close of the season finale. It had something to do with her asking if we have said I love you to those we care about today because we don't know if there is a tommorow. I would really like the exact quote because I have to prepare a eulogy to my mother who recently passed. Thanks to whomever can find me this.

I sobbed like a baby watching the end of the finale. I thought it was amazing, and just the way a finale should be, a gripping cliffhanger! Like other people have said, we can't write off Izzie or George yet. They might both survive. Anyway, I applaude Shonda's job well done. Can't wait for next season!!!
