Wow. I T-voed this episode and glad I did. When it was over I replayed it back and watched it again. That was a memorable show. A show that makes you want to watch it again....well...I thought it was good writing. Kudos. Wow. I like both of those characters. But it may be a better storyline to watch them both go, because it will cause sad hearts in the hospital without them and everyone loves drama.
There's a part of me that wants them on the show. Maybe they can come back together helping each intern when they're troubled. TR and Katherine can have this out of body experience while in the hospital helping their co-workers and have a seperate story line all-together. Just like Katheryn did with her Ex. I know some people didn't get it. But the writer's pulled it out. Cool. I'm a fan.

This was cruel! Our lovable George didn't deserve it.
I keep thinking of all the horrible things he went through and how he remained the kindest-hearted soul in the world, and I just want to slap Shonda.
He dies, I'm gone.
George is the heart of Grey for me and Grey can't function without its heart.
I saw this this season.

I personally think that both Izzie and George's characters are gone. As much as it pains me to say it. Theres been too much speculation for too long in my opinion. Also, I think that if they really are gone that they should probably write in Mere as pregnant, 1. because shes the main character and I can't imagine how they could write her out for a little bit while Ellen Pompeo is on maturnity leave and 2. if George and Izzie are gone they're going to have to bring something in to keep our attention and what better than a baby? Then again I could be wrong ... they filmed Will and Grace while she was pregnant and although you could often tell they pretended like she wasn't pregnant at all. Who knows. This show is great and just keeps getting crazier and making all of us want more.

* Will Lexie and Mark move in? Definitely. * Will Arizona be around next season? Yes. * Are Cristina and Owen officially a couple? Probably not, although I very much want it. * Where does a heartbroken Dr. Bailey go from here? I have this.. idea of Bailey & Webber :] * The Meredith-Derek wedding - officiated by them, with hastily written vows on a Post-It note - was very touching and sweet. But was it the real deal? Hmm. Maybe. * Speaking of Meredith, as Ellen Pompeo's baby bump becomes more visible, is her pregnancy going to be written into the script, or will she go on leave? Think she'll go on leave. * If it's the latter, how will Meredith's absence be explained? Real honeymoon? Her father? * Is this the most talked-about episode of Grey's Anatomy since the Season Two finale, which ironically ended with Izzie in the same prom dress? Yes and I'm just so.. omg. * Is this ambiguity of the ending a deliberate cliffhanger written for that purpose, or the result of the producers' indecisiveness over whether George and Izzie will die - and/or Katherine and T.R.'s own willingness to return next fall? I think George will die. I hope not. George is just so, sweet and kind. But I don't know. I think T.R. leaves. Izzie won't die, I hope.

soooo disappointed with the finale. wedding in a post it? are they kidding us? after everything these two characters have gone through and we have supported and watched them go back and forth in their relationship. now that everything is ok and meredith is all healed, they will just get married in a post it?!? to add insult to injury, they got married to the tune of "what a feeling" in the background.seriously?!? when i heard the music,it reminded me of a girl dancing in leotard not two people madly inlove sharing vows! that scene wasn't even remotely romantic.it was a 5 minute scene of just talking. the proposal in the elevator was already a disappointment and now this...where's the grand gesture? meredith built derek a house of candles for pete's sake. the girl needs a real wedding! un-traditional but still romantic.i'm sure shonda can do better than that.nearly threw my remote at the tv

As a HUGE Grey's fan from the VERY BEGINNING (and a bride to be), I'm kinda feelin' cheaped out on the whole Mer and Derek wedding, BUT that blue sticky note is holdin' out hope... as for Lexie and Sloan, meh, we'll see I guess. Yang with at least the now little compassion she has is awesome; I love her, and her and Owen are way hot together. Arizona should stay... her and Callie's wedding MAY just end up happening before Grey's and Shepperd's, hahaha. As for the pregnancy's, hello, it's TV!!! There's ways around that! Why do you think there was so many reruns in a row??? I love Izzie, but if K's attitude is the way I've been hearing; GOOD RIDDENS!! Georgy CANNOT GO!! I know... but still... CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEASON PREMIER!!!
You know I am a die-hard McSteamy fan, and I am rooting for Mark and Lexie. It does seem a little soon, but he's serious about her... He genuinely has feelings for her, and its so cute. I think she is just scared... But I also think a house means that Seattle is permanent for Mark... I hope this leads to lots more screen time for them next season, I can't wait to see what happens! Good things, I hope :) They are so cute.
I just cannot get over the last 10 minutes! You never really notice George is gone, and that it could even be a possibility that John Doe is him, I did not expect it what so ever. If you go back and watch the scene where he tries to tell Mer the first time that he is '007', you can tell by his eyes that it is him. Poor George, he is such a great guy, who is underestimated, and he has such a sweet heart, and is such a great guy. I mean hello!! He jumped in front of a bus for some girl he didn't even know. What a hero, and the best part is that is who he really is, he would do that for anyone! So sad, I just feel like how can he really pull through this? Him and GA have had one intense roller coaster ride together, I don't see him coming back from this... I mean he wanted to go the army, he wanted to leave, he is ready for the next chapter, both George and T.R.! But we will see... I could be totally wrong! I've never seen T.R. look so good, he looked so handsome in that final scene!
And poor... poor Izzie. I know medical miracles happen all the time... but really? Come on, really? No more tumor, slight memory lose, and then everything is okay? I am just so happy that Alex and her were able to hug it out in that end scene. What he said was harsh, way harsh. But times like those are stressful, you know he cares, he cares so much, but you got to remember his past with his mom, and Rebecca, he is just scared out of his mind. I feel horrible for his character, poor guy could lose the love of his life, look at all Iz and Alex have been through since season 1... he will never forgive himself. I love them, and I love him with her, she brings out the best in him, and its great!
And Mer, sweet Mer. My dark and twisty Mer, she's whole, happy and fixed, and I love it. It is so refreshing. She is finally so happy and committed to McDreamy and it is great!!! Finally giving Shep the love he deserves in return. I can't wait to see what is in store for her next season.
CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 6... I am just going to have to watch season 1-5 in the mean time to keep myself occupied and keep my GA addiction in tact throughout these long months!
Ditto to everything everyone else has said! I have no idea how next season will start, but I am glad that Mer and Der are "married". I'm a dork because I didn't see the belly bumpt at all. But then again, I am so focused on the story lines!!! My four year old has a congenital heart defect, which makes me cry over Denny and his reocurrance, and in September I had brain surgery to remove a tumor!! Thankfully it was deemed "normal tissue", but STILL...to close to real life. But I don't look as beautiful as Izzy at all!!!!
Benefits of yoga Says: May 16th, 2009 2:22 AM
Great post! The benefits of yoga are still unknown to many people. Different types of yoga have different effect on our health. However, it is important to understand the yoga basics so that the practitioner can perform the asanas perfectly and experience the benefits of yoga.
4. Bailey is a strong woman. I'm sure she can move on.
5. I reallllly hope so! But the Post-it vows are very cute though.
6. I am sure it'll be written in. Without her there is no show.
7. You know what? Just wait until the baby's born! And do the show.

This finale is officially the saddest thing of my week. I cried. Numerous times! Every time I would finally stop crying, another sad thing would happen and I would start all over again. The worst part for me was when Meredith realized it was George. Somehow, I hadn't quite fit the pieces together yet, and it broke my heart a little bit. 1. Lexie and Mark will most certainly not move in together. With all the other Grey's relationships going seemingly well, Lexie and Mark will have to step up the drama. 2. Arizona will definitely be back. I love her enthusiasm. 3. I don't think Owen and Christina are "official", but they seem pretty legitimate to me. 4. Bailey divorces her husband and takes the peds fellowship. I wouldn't expect anything less from her. It's unfortunate that her marriage is, most likely, ending this way. It would be nice to see an example of a marriage not ending in divorce on this show. 5. I don't see how their wedding can possibly be legitimate, but it was certainly touching. I love seeing them happy. 6. I can't imagine the writers giving Meredith a baby at this point, even with all the progress Mer's been making. But hey, anything's possible. 7. I would definitely say this is the most talked about since Season 2's ending. Season 3's was lame, and in Season 4, everything ended happily. 8. I think George will most certainly die, and I'm quite upset about it. I think Izzie will live, because I can't see the writers killing off two main characters in one day, but who knows. I don't know if I can keep watching the show if half the originals are gone though. All in all, I was quite impressed, albeit horrifyingly sad, about this finale.
Ada Says: May 16th, 2009 1:44 AM
Oh why can't George ever catch a break?
George's the best. Why does he never get anything good happen to him?
TR is so amazing. I could feel that loneliness in his eyes when the army guy spoke without a word.
Then the elevator. My beautiful Gizzie, smiling at each other. George looking so gorgeous.
So many big questions! I really hope Arizona sticks around, Jessica Capshaw is great and Arizona is just as cute as a button. I love her and Callie together, they are a great couple. There aren't enough LGBT characters on tv, and to have a healthy and happy (mostly) long-term lesbian couple on television is a brave and courageous move for Grey's. Its shocking to see the amount of snarky, bigoted remarks on these boards concerning these two. Heres hoping that these two can change some minds and help alot of people see that same-sex couples are just as loving and devoted as any straight couple, it astounds me that people even need to be told this still.

My computer sucks. It froze during my last comment. I will be very upset if George is gone. I have missed his character all season. There has been a huge gap for me, especially not seeing him and his interaction with Izzie as FRIENDS. Get rid of Callie and keep George!

I really hope George and Izzie survive. It would be unrealistic but many of the medical scenarios in Grey's are unrealistic. Mer managed to get back to work pretty quickly after her near-drowning episode. There are a lot more miracles performed in Seattle Grace than any where I've ever worked!
Having said that I predict T.R. Knight will leave . If you calculate his injuries and Trauma score him his mortality rate would be over 90% and that's before he coded! George's rehabilitation would take a long time and there is no possible way he would be able to perform surgery... well at least for years. He'll die a hero. It's a shame. I hope I'm wrong but it's very very very unlikely that he'll survive.
Izzie can feasibly (though miraculously) survive and return to surgery. The Metastases have been removed and Hyperkalemia is reversible. I don't understand how the potassium got so high - she was being monitored. She was flatlining but she must survive. Cancer is common and is curable and the show needs to give people some hope!
So that's it... Izzie will live and George will have to die.
It's my fave show and George is my fave character. I'm sad.
Grey Matter Says: May 15th, 2009 11:15 PM
As far as Merideth's absence, I have an idea that could be filmed before she is REALLY showing and would be AWESOME: George lives, but of course has tons of recovery to go through. He asks Merideth to go to Iraq instead. She doesn't enlist, but goes as a civilian surgeon working with the Army. One or two episodes to set it up, a couple of flashes to her overseas, and badda-bing, badda-bang, season finale with her coming home to Derrick and a REAL wedding set up by him at their NEW house in the mountains that she laid out in candles last season. And George gives her away. Izzie lives, she and Alex rent the house from Merideth and Izzie gets pregnant in the season finally. George has to go through numerous surgeries and rehab and gets together with the woman that he saved. Callie and Arizona move in together to combat Callie's financial problems, leaving Christina with no roommate. She lets Bailey move in with her kid temporarily and once Bailey moves out, McArmy moves in. Mark tries to go back to being McSteamy, but Lexie has changed him. They seperate for awhile until Derrick needs both of them to help plan the surprise wedding for Merideth's return and they end up back together. And there is the next season in a nutshell. If ABC or Shondra would like to hire me as a writer I promise to never strike as long as I can work from home with my 4 kids...
-She has her moment. I hope to see her next season.
- It’s Christina’s time. She should have her happy ending also.
- She will accept the fellowship and Tuck will come into his senses and support her.
- I hope that the aftermath will be better and see them both in the city hall to finally seal their vows.
- I think that will be a perfect start for them to build their family next season. It will be definitely written on the script. If she will on leave, Grey’s will never be Grey’s again.
- This season is really a tear jerker. Lots of cliffhanger, George and Izzie on their death bed… No no no, that can’t happen. The two of them are very good and I think Shonda should let them stay.
- I think their decisions has been finalized they just want us to think more and run around more ideas.
I’m looking forward to a great 6th season. Congratulations to a job well done!
1.Will Lexie and Mark move in? NO, not now. Mark still has to grow though he had changed a lot.
2.Will Arizona be around next season? Yes. She is a pleasent role!
3.Are Cristina and Owen officially a couple? Yeah!
4.Where does a heartbroken Dr. Bailey go from here? NOT fall in love with chief! NEVER!
5.The Meredith-Derek wedding - But was it the real deal? Yes. For Mer, I can't think of a better wedding than this.
6.Speaking of Meredith, as Ellen Pompeo's baby bump becomes more visible, is her pregnancy going to be written into the script, or will she go on leave? If it's the latter, how will Meredith's absence be explained?
Like Lexie, just shoot her with a specific angle.
7.Is this the most talked-about episode of Grey's Anatomy since the Season Two finale, which ironically ended with Izzie in the same prom dress? Yes! THIS IS THE BEST EPISODE EVER! Although I hate the fact that George is massed up, I still think it's a wonderful brillant climax. And I promised to "love this show even when I hate it"!!!
8.Will Katherine and T.R. return next fall? Izzie will live. I am not sure about George. But if you want George to die, then let him die. Do NOT let him live with a new face! Do not let other actors play him!!!

OMG..i hate the finale..how can shonda do dat 2 us..anyway im fr malaysia so obviouly i cant watch it primetime... but killing both izzie n george is so devastating.. i cannot accept it..seriously..
n 4 owen n christina i always luv their dark broken relationship cuz they balance each other with their ways..
n 4 me abt mer/der i think the post it is a very truthful honest wedding vows that anyone ever had..if they officiated it obviously its way way way way better..but its all up 2 shonda n the script team..
about mark n lexie..i hate it..i dont like sloane going gaga over her..it shud b put aside as im more concern with izzie n george obvioulsy..
n callie n arizona..i love arizona crying scene with chief, n shes the light of the show..but sometimes i do find her irritating and annoying..but 4 me i always prefer callie n arizona just remains good frens not a couple..i always prefer callie being straight..
and abt bailey..its abt time she leave tucker..tucker is the most difficult husband ever..he shud know wat he sign up when marrying a surgeon, n one of the best surgeon in SGH..come on, all the crazy schedule and what not co-exist together with the marriage..
and chief n bailey is definitely A NO-NO!!!! chief will alyways b the father to everyone..not a luv interest..thats disgusting..
and shonda please dont kill izzie n george..please dont..
Think about it: George and Izzie had the best surgeons at Seattle Grace working on it them! George's arm was a mess, but hey McSteamy said it wasn't a problem if he could operate in the next couple of hours... he did! No worries.
George and Izzie have alot of recovery time to do and there is a new girl interest for George and a new husband for Izzie...
As for Mer and Der well a baby on the way would kinda need the post it marriage to have a rethink and maybe a more than a sticky bit...
Owen and Christina along with Arisona and Callie all new relationships and issues there.
Lexi and Mark will have bumpy maybe blimpy road to travel.
Bailey and the Chief will have a road to travel too.
Season 6 is about to hit new roads, because Mer got all healed and whole, she got her man and in her words which summed up the whole five seasons... the house you wanted to sell became your home, the flatmates that were forced upon you became your family and the one night stand you wanted to forget became the love of your life....
Guys don't spend the summer trying to guess Shondra and her team, spend the summer watching your favourite eppies!!!
Like Shondra says the answers to season 5 were in the first episode of that season. (Thank God Rose didn't appear with a baby!!!)
I don't think that they would kill off George and Izzie at the same time. It would kill ratings and kill all of the characters emotionally. we don't need another season 3. But, I think having them flat line at the same time was absolutely brilliant. George being on the other side of the elevator was the one surprise for me this episode. Did any of you notice that Izzie, contrary to season 2 and this season premiere, did not look happy as she got on the elevator and was on it? I think that's an indication that she's not dead. George is there because then we get to see the incredible heart-to-heart btwn them w/ George telling izzie to go back. Then she's gonna push the elevator button and the door will close on george. katherine heigl said she was willing to stay if the show would have her. Shonda would be crazy if she didn't want to keep her. Iz will definitely be back next season. Otherwise they wouldn't have left it as a cliffhanger. George, I'm sad to say, is 99% dead.
Larissa Says: May 15th, 2009 8:46 PM
"someone"
George's left arm was a bloody stump. It looked like it had been ripped right off his body. You can only reattach with a clean cut, as has been pointed out SEVERAL times during this series. Even if you can reattach the limb with the clean cut, there's no guarantee that the limb will still work once reattached.
Also, Izzie is surviving two major brain surgeries, while undergoing cancer treatments with no memory loss, nearly dying, and then realizing, oh and I still have STAGE FOUR cancer that's spread throughout my body. I didn't say it couldn't happen, I said it's not realistic. Izzie is still sick, very sick, even if her brain tumors (plural) are gone. So no, I don't think that Izzie will ever be a doctor again. Even the girl Allison was sitting in the hospital with no hair undergoing further treatment, and she was the "miracle case".

Their connection is just amazing.
They can't die, especially not my George.

I will be very upset if George is gone. I have missed his character very much, especially his FRIENDSHIP

I'm sad.

As far as Merideth's absence, I have an idea that could be filmed before she is REALLY showing and would be AWESOME:
George lives, but of course has tons of recovery to go through.

- I hope that Lexie and Mark move in next season.
