TR is so talented that he can take two minutes of screen time and make it memorable.
Like that one moment where he smiled at Izzie. This was 30 seconds of screentime but it was the one scene the entire episode that had me bursting into tears. It's that one moment that stayed with me.
Now that is great acting. I don't get why Shonda is wasting his talent like that, and not using a character that is so loved."
So PERFECTLY said!!!
Hi Francois!! So glad to see your posts!!! How is your wife? Did you two see the few precious scenes we've gotten in the past month and a half? Those few scenes w/ George and Izzie were the most intense, most magical scenes of the season (and the MerDer proposal too). Those are the only really good things about S5.
If Shonda wants to bring back the magic that is Grey, she needs to keep TR on and give George a story and let George & Izzie have their best friendship back. George is the glue. He is the magic.

I LOVE George. What a cutie pie! He always makes me smile. I think Shonda should beg TR to stay and give him a big juicy story so he doesn't leave.
I also think he and Izzie need to be best friends again. I miss their friendship so much.
I watch every week hoping they will be friends again, but nothing. We had a few good scenes two or three episodes ago. I got all hopeful and bam, nothing.
Now I don't know if I should just stop hoping for their friendship back because I get disappointed so much.
I wish I could get through to Shonda somehow. I don,t know if she is hearing us at all. Don't the other George fans get discouraged at times that she doesn't or is that just me?
I am so glad there is no fighting here. On other sites, they fight so much, I don't even dare post.

This season has been just one heartbreak after another. I really hate it so bad.
Worst of all, the absence of George has made me realize he was the only thing I still cared about in this show.
I have decided that I won't watch when he leaves. The show has lost its magic, and only George still does it for me.

Oh did you guys read about Nicolette Sheridan's blasting the DH creator and saying he always had it in for her characetr after he killed her off.
Do you think TR would do the same? I don't see it somehow even if it's true. TR has never liked the attention, but I wish he would defend himself. He is always letting people like IW and Shonda treat him badly and never says a thing to defend himself.
I wish he was more like Katie on that, but then maybe he wouldn't be the TR I love so much.
I was shocked when he came out. I wasn't shocked about NPH on How I met your mother and I usually can tell, but with George, I couldn't.
Probably because he and Izzie have so much chemistry to me, and I always secretely wanted him and Katie to hook up in real life.
That would have been so great. Unfortunately, that's impossible.
Him coming out didn't affect my love for him one bit. I just fel more protective of him somehow.
I don,t get why Shonda doesn't let the door open for him if he really wants to leave. Why kill him or force him to come back next season? Why not leave the door open and let him the option to come back when HE wants?
I hate that she seems to be playing games with him, especially after she treated his character like wallpaper this year.
She is the one who acted like she didn't care about George anymore and now she gets mad because he wants to leave? Why? It's not like she was writing for him anyway.
I know the rep denied it, but I heard the same rumors about her and Katie.
I keep hearing those things about her, so there must be some truth to it.
I am 5000% on TR's side.
I really wish they could make peace though. George always makes the show so much better. He's my McDreamy for sure.

I would be dissapointed to see George go, just as much as any of the original characters. If Izzie dies and George leaves it will be a very sad year. Will I stop watching? Absolutely not. I'm wayyyy too addicited to the show to stop watching.
Best line ever from George "Correction, George got some syphillis." I still get tears in my eyes when he says that, it makes me laugh so hard.
But one of my favourite episodes with him in it, was the thanksgiving turkey hunt. A little weird I know, but I loved that episode.
He is a great character, and personally I think he has some excellent potential to thrive on this show. But if it is his choice to go, I say all the best T.R. thanks for bringing such a wonderful character to us!

I respect TR's decision no matter what, but I won't be watching without him.
Grey has long lost its place in my heart and I have been watching out of habit and love for George.
Without him, I am not invested in this show at all.
I agree that there is definitely still potential for George as a character and no one else brings the dynamic that he does. He is an essential part of the Fab 5 (which is my main reason for watching as I am not a huge Mer/Der fan). This season all of the other members of the Fab 5 have shown SO much growth (Meredith and Alex learning how to be in a mature relationship with commitment and real communication, Cristina allowing herself to be vulnerable and Izzie slowly putting her unrealistic fantasies of love away to appreciate what she has.) Now its George's turn. He is the only one of the Fab 5 to grow up in relatively stable and loving home (Cristina too, but she watched her dad die at a young age) and I think that George has always sort of been babied a little bit (by his mother, by his friends, etc.) Now is the time for him to come into his own as a man, continue to take responsibility for his career and personal life and move forward. There is plenty of story left there and I just hope that TR sticks around so that we can watch ALL of the Fab 5 grow into the doctors and people we know they can be.

Belle Says:
April 21st, 2009 11:29 AM
I think George is the most mature out of the gang. He is the only one who take responsibility for his mistakes and his actions, and tries to grow from it. He is the only one who doesn't try to step all over other people to advance. He doesn't think himself a rock star or does surgery to show he is the best. He really cares about each and every one of his patients, and he works harder than anyone. He sticks up for what he believes in.
I think he has grown leaps and bounds. He showed it with Sadie and with the little boy who needed his help.
I would definitely pick him to be my doctor over the other 4.
I think George has grown the most out of every character on this show.
Now they should put him back with Izzie because she kind of sucks without him and she and Alex are the biggest snorefest in the world.
And who cares about TR being gay? It just makes me admire him more for bringing such hot hot chemistry to Gizzie, the hottest couple on TV.
I have to say, I love George but I disagree that he takes responsibility for his mistakes, at least not right away. Even back in Season 1 he blamed Alex for giving him syphillis even though he was the one who slept with Olivia without a condom. After he slept with Meredith, he wouldn't talk to her for weeks because of their uncomfortable sex, never questioning why she was so upset that she started to cry in the middle of it. When he failed his exam he blamed Meredith because she didn't write anything down and because he slept with Izzie and because Cristina used Callie's flash cards. After he slept with Izzie he blamed Callie for agreeing to marry him when he was vulnerable over his dad's death. He may eventually take responsibility for things, but at least in the past his first instinct was to blame someone else.
He eventually did apologize for some of these things and he was finally starting to get his career back together when they cut his screentime so drastically. So I think that the potential for a lot of growth was there and he was learning from his mistakes, but we never got to see the conclusion. I hope that will come.
I feel like I have to say once again, that I am a big George fan, but I am able to see his flaws. Every character on the show has them and I think that his is that he has/had a tendency to blame other people for his mistakes, at least at first. Like I said before, he has been babied a little bit more than the rest of the characters and sometimes it shows.
Also, because it can't be said enough, Who cares if TR is gay? Its irrelevant to everything.
