okie i saw an inteview with Ausiello resently where he said ellen pompeo is going to take a 3 months leave from greys for her baby. While this is amazing and so gr8. WTF is greys anatomy gonna b without meredith it doesn't make any sense unless they change the show from her voice over and her point of view to everyones point of view.
In which case y call it greys anatomy b-coz wats the point of watchin a show without meredith grey. more than half of them live in her house, the other may or may not marry her, the other is her best friend and the others work with her. how is greys anatomy supposed to keep its viewers short of getting a famous movie star to distract viewers from the absnce of the main character.
i realise im talking too much but can you blame me??????????????
I just knew it....Some time ago I saw a picture of Ellen and she looked so shiny and PREGGERS! But some people disagreed with me :-D ...A bit funny.....

yeah, i don't know if anything will make it believable that she's gone. she has such a big part of the show. maybe they'll change the filming schedule so that they shoot as many episodes as possible before she's due. then they have all the episodes they need when she's on maternity leave

I think they could reasonably write her off for 3 mos as on maternity leave if she the pregnancy is written into the show. Derek could certainly make references to her, etc. Also, they could shoot some footage prior to her leave and work it in later. Who knows. Shonda always keeps us on our toes.

I really don't think they should write this into the show. Making the show about the trials of motherhood? Bailey fills that role, really, Meredith and Derek represent young, new love.
It might be tough to hid it, but it's not impossible. On Star Trek Voyager one of the stars of the show, Roxanne Dawson (B'Elanna Torres) was pregnant for half of the series (she had 2 or 3 kids, as I recall). They managed to hide it really well. I didn't even know until after the series ended and they talked about it in the interviews. So I say, leave Meredith and Derek focussed on their relationship and their careers. Baby would just be too much.

Everyone is assuming Ellen will take a 3 month maternity leave. Who says she will or wants to...lots of people take 6 weeks and off they go back to work. And she could certainly have her baby with her on set with a nanny. Just some thoughts people.
Also, this is Hollywood. They start filming in July or August for the early part of the season, right? They certainly had enough breaks this season that they could spread out the new episodes to cover filming while she is on leave (if she takes a long leave) or also film more stuff ahead of time so they all take a break when she does. I am not sure they will write in a McBaby just yet. It would be cute though. But, yay for Ellen and Chris. Being a parent is the greatest thing I could ever have hoped for! I have 3 little ones and they bring more to your life than you could ever imagine! Best wishes to them for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.
