Start the Baby McDreamy watch (sort of)!
Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is pregnant with her husband, Chris Ivery, her rep confirms.
"It's great news," says Jennifer Allen. "They're ecstatic."
The couple, both natives of the Boston area, met in a Los Angeles grocery store in 2003 and began dating six months later. They've been together ever since.
The actress, 39, and Chris Ivery, 41, were married personally by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a low-key ceremony on her birthday in November 2007.
They got engaged on her birthday exactly a year earlier in 2006.

No word on whether there is a McDreamy Jr. in the works, given this new announcement. Don't be so sure. Chyler Leigh, who plays Pompeo's half-sister on the show, is currently expecting but her pregnancy was hidden, not worked into the script.
"I keep wondering when the transition from carrying charts to pushing wheelchairs to pushing gurneys to close up face shots in the OR will happen," Leigh, who already has two children with her husband, joked to Access Hollywood a couple of months ago.
"I guess the positive is, I'll have really buff arms from all the carrying and pushing of random medical equipment." Meredith's got to be pregnant on the show, right?

Congratu-freakin-lations! I'm so happy for them! Ellen will be such a great mom and with her beauty the baby will probably be the cutest! Her little baby bump looks so cute in that dress!
And now I can only hope this will be written into the show! PD did say in an interview that he defenitely thought MerDer will have a baby after the wedding so HOPE FOR THE BEST!

Awww, congrats to them. I agree, they should write this one in, it would be hard to hide Ellen's belly for a season. It was easier with Chyler Leigh as Lexie is not the main character of the show! A McBaby would be awesome!

And I hope they will write this in. They probably will, it's time for MerDer and since Mer is the main character it would be hard to hide her belly. And btw, there's a summer break soon and on the show her belly will have gotten much bigger in no time if Mer discover that she's pregnant this season. That might be little weird... but anyway, I hope for a McBaby too!

ohh im quite scared... i only thought the other day "Ellen's said she wants a baby, i wonder if it will happen soon..." then i read this today and the OMG factor came into play...
congrats to them both!! i think they will make great parents!!
and to writing it into the show, i hope they do because its well-deserved and likely to happen eventually- why not do it whilst Ellen's pregnant... makes it easier (though less of a surprise) but i guess knowing whether it will be written in will be a surprise... for now
