I thought it was an incredible scene. Heartbreaking but incredible. The entire episode was dark and for that I love. In a way I think that this was necessary to show how Mer isn't going anywhere.
I am already imagining the hell of apology that Derek is going to give her.
PS. Meredith better had a flashlight and searched for that ring. Why didn't Derek threw it out with the box, there might be a possibility that it'd be easier to find right? Oh you stupid brain man!

great episode! I loved Lexi's odds speech to Izzie. I really don't want Izzie to die, Alex will be heart broken:( When Derek hit the ring, I freaked out. But, now we know there will be A LOT of really cute mer/der scenes in the future that will show Derek apologizing. Mayber they'll even look for the ring together:)

Oh I found it sooo sad when he baseballes the ring in the woods but im sure he will be crawling back in the woods to find it :O I am soo sad for izzie when every one finds out
