After finally learning what's ailing "Patient X," Izzie and Lexie discuss the two options - basically, flight or flight. In the end, Little Grey says she would tell Patient X to screw the odds and fight.
That turns out to be just what Izzie Stevens needed to hear ...

Grrrr I'de tell him to take that ring and that bat and put it where the sun don't shine. He needs to get ahold of himself. He is being and ass. Mer never treated him like that. He is feeling sorry for himself. NO time for that crap when you got people depending on you to be a god. He needs to get a grip and be the person that he used to be. He needs time off for sure and alot of time on Dr. Wyatt's couch. Which from the previews, it looks like he is going to see Dr Wyatt. He has issues that maybe she can help him with. Before he ruins himself professionally and privately.

This was definitely mind-blowing. I don't care what anyone says, next week's episode DOES look good, and that's a rare thing coming out of my mouth about a Grey's Anatomy episode these days. My interest in the show has finally been rekindled....finally.
Here's my own personal diagnosis of the characters this episode:
For the first time, I'm actually really impressed with Alex. He saved a girl's life! That's...it's weird, because whenever I think of him I think of the jerky guy that was an intern that choked when he had to do surgery in an elevator. But now he's grown, and it's so weird to see. They've all grown.
Derek...where do I begin... Oh, Derek. Derek, why do we call you McDreamy when you act like a jerk like this? Is it your amazing good looks? Your God-blessed-hair? Your sapphire eyes? Because you do NOT deserve that title. I get that he's upset and all those patients that have died on his table...it's stomach churning. Makes you want to vomit, yes. But does this mean he should run away and quit his job? No! It means he needs to stay and get better. He needs to stay and save lives. Because that's what he does: saves lives. He's a doctor, dammit!
Meredith. Dark and Twisty Meredith... She's grown so much, but I can't help but agree with a couple things Derek has said. She's written books! She's the master of running away. Actually, ya know what? I take that back. Everyone in that damn hospital has ran away from their problems, but now they've started to face them. Really, I'm impressed with Meredith this episode. You can see how she's grown and how much she really loves and cares about Derek. It's just a shame that Derek was too drunk to realize this, and it's not about a ring. It's about their future, and their life together. Their bond. But hey, better luck next week?
George. Oh, my sweet George. All three of his brief scenes stole my heart. Yes, that's corny, but I'm lacking sleep, so bear with me. His "Heellllloooo" line made me crack up and rewind so I can see it again. Then Izzie's little speech to him made me tear up a little. She's right about him. And how he's given her space so she and Alex can be together, when he does love her? It's sweet. I'm really hoping she tells him, because I think he would be the person to be there for her. He's George. He's sweet and caring. And he'd be there for her every step of the way.
Cristina. I'm touched by how much she cares about Owen. What she said to him was sweet. She wants to be there for him. These two are definitely my favorite couple that are together on the show right now. MerDer? Derek's pissing me off.
The chief...ohhh, the chief. He pisses me off to no end. This whole season I've been wanting to give him a good slap across the face. Adele's right, is he running a hospital or a playground? He's being so childish! He reminded me of Derek screaming at Meredith in the end. Him and Derek need to grow a pair and be adults. Chief needs to let Bailey be in pediatrics because one of those kids she could save just might be working for him someday.
Bailey. I love this woman. She's definitely one of my favorites. She's so strong and calling in Adele made me laugh. She's forceful and takes action. She's another one that would be good for Izzie to tell about her diagnosis.
Now finally, the last character...because I'm simply too lazy to talk about all 613 characters...
Izzie. I don't know what to say. She made me laugh when she said "Lunch is my favorite." and ate whatever it was on her fork. How she's seeing everyone in so many years. It's...I dunno. It's so sad. Katherine deserves an Emmy for what's going to happen. And let's hope she won't get snubbed like her best friend did back in '07 -_- I hope Izzie's going to confine in George. It's going to give him scenes with her and it's going to show how bright and strong their friendship truly is. And it's going to be a chance for the actor to shine. We already know that Alex will find out, because apparently there's going to be this meltdown thing, I think? That'll be interesting. Big, strong, tough Alex who's emotionally retarded (

I never cared the George character until last night. It really is sad the way they're wasting the potential with George right now.
But I can't wait for more Callie-Zona action!!!!

You're saying that Derek is being an ass or a jerk. But come on, he's just being human. Yeah, sure it's unbelievable frustrating that he's acting like this - but it doesn't make him less McDreamy in my eyes. He's just going through a really difficult time and happens to take out all those angry and hard feelings out on the woman he loves the most. People do that sometimes - we hurt the people we love the most. Does freaking out and being depressed make him entitled to being called negative things? He's not an ass just because he's taking all his frustration out on Mer. He still loves her - that hasn't changed.

I thought he was going to hit her he was like 'I said LEAVE, MEREDITH LEAVE!' It got quiet after that and they just looked at each other and I thought he looked like so angry and he hit Mark last week, I thought he was going to hit her like Chris Brown or something here. I was so scared, I yelled at the TV. And when he told her she wasn't healed. Meredith is healed she is there now and she's not backing out, but this is like a really really bad Derek, like I hope Shonda has something really good planned for this because Derel doesn't heal fast from this it's not oh, all the sudden he's better he's in deep. This is a Derek unknown a Derek like this has never been seen. I love Derek Christopher Shepherd and I hope he comes back from this. When he found out Meredith knew about the ring. His face looked pained, but I don't know if he was pained or angry? Which do you think it is? And when he pulled the ring out of it's box, I knew he was going to throw it or something I like cried. This isn't him, not once would he treat this girl, his girl, like this. She is his dream girl and he needs to come out of this. He needs to realize he has her now. And he can pull through this, she can help him.

Aww Grumpy, I am so glad you loved George last night. he was amazing, wasn't he? His two scenes with izzie were the best moments for me. I don't know why they weren't put up there but a really great Gizzie fan put them on YT, thank God.
That scene was amazing, way better than little Grey and Izzie.
I can't stand Lexie. I wish she would just get run down or something. She makes Mark so boring and sleazy and she takles away airtime from George.
Plus Chyler can't act.
