What has TR done that Shonda hates him so much! This is getting ridiculous. Not only does he have no story, he has to find out after everyone that his best friend is sick.
I thought Aussiello hated Gizzie. I find it weird he wanted George to be the first to know.
I wonder if we are going to see George at all in this episode. Will we see him have his own patient like everyone else or will he again be pushing papers for the chief.
I wish Shonda would get over it and give us our George back.
It is bad when even Aussiello is angry about this.
You guys, I'm sure that George is going to find out and he probably won't be the absolute last. The only reason that Cris tells Bailey and Alex is because it looks likes she is too stressed out to do her surgery and they are in the room with her and are going to want to know why. Otherwise, I'm sure she would tell Meredith first or even Owen.
Maybe Izzie herself will tell George. Poor Alex has to hear it from someone else.
richelle Says:

So this is the event that reflects the rest of xtina and owen's relationship, huh? That sucks.
I feel really bad for izzie, but I'm glad cristina tells alex. He needs to know.
I hate Derek right now. Like a lot. And I mean, we know he proposes and we know there's an end of season wedding, but who says its theirs? I harbor a secret hope that mark and little grey tie the knot.
What I was thinking is similar to TDS. I don't think this episode will be absent of George. I think George will know... maybe even b/f Cristina blabs to Bailey and Alex. I think he's gonna decided enough is enough and either pry it out of Cristina or make Izzie confide in him. I do think Ausiello's stab at Shonda about TR was good though-- a sign that our voices about wanting more George on our screens are being heard by the "higher" powers.
Hang in there George fans. I really think we'll see him this epi. Won't you be sad if you miss it and he has scenes?? Just give it until the end of the season!!!
Shelton Says:
March 19th, 2009 12:18 PM
But then why is Aussiello saying Shonda doesn't want TR to have anything to do. if he watched the two episodes, he must know what happens, so this emans he still has nothing to do in the next two episodes.
And why couldn't George be in that operating room?
When is the last time we saw himm operate? He is a resident, not Richard's slave.
And Owen strangles Cristina? Is Shonda trying to ruin her one new couple that people actually likes?
Ausiello is being sarcastic. George finds out in this episode because he mentions something to Meredith about it, so maybe he even tells her. Plus he is running down the hall and I'm sure that has something to do with it.
The stills for the next episode show that they all know and look worried. I understand your frustration, but I'm sure that he will have a lot of scenes with Izzie and the Fab 5 in the episodes to come.
And he isn't in the surgery because Alex is the only one of the residents to do a solo, so most likely that is why he got picked.
Katia Says:
March 19th, 2009 12:48 PM
Yes, but Alex got two solos already. Why can't George have one? Has he even had a patient or a medical case the entire season? Everyone else has, why not him?
Nothing will make up for the horrid treatment of George during the last 17 episodes. Nothing.
I don't believe at all George will get a story. If he did, we would have ehard about it. We heard about everyone else.
Shonda clearly hates TR and is going to make him pay till he quits and then her buddy pal Isiaiah the homophobe will be oh so happy.
IIRC, George was on one case this season. I think he MIGHT have been in the operating room to observe, but it was a while ago. Maybe a month ago? Something like that. It's still rather pathetic... but at least we can say he wasn't on one :-) And I know I tend to be as cynical as Meredith, but I think we should try to stay positive. George is in this episode. Hey, sidenote, am I the only what that's noticed this, but does it seem like every promo George is in the last season or two he seems to always be running?
Dior Says:

I'm excited about the Mer-Der proposal, but first Mer deserves a HUGE apology from Der. And I hope the season finale doesn't turns into the season 2 finale when Denny died, but now it will be Izzie who dies instead..
Btw, how many episodes are there gonna be in season 5? Aussiello seems to think it's 26, but I've heard it's 24? Does anyone know? And I also read somewhere that there will be a break for a couple of weeks quite soon? Does anyone know anything about that too?
trey Says:
March 19th, 2009 3:21 PM
Well, I think George already knows, or will know without being told. It's certainly being set up that way. He always caught her talking to herself. He just happen to walk in on Izzie getting tests (back in that episode where he sort of makes fun of her for the expensive tests), he just happen to follow her to Dermatology before her appointment. He did not find these things suspicious at the time but in last weeks episode when he asked her about patient x (in context strongly implying he knew patient x was of significance) and, being close with Lexie, he will probably find out what Patient x's diagnosis was and it'll all come together.
He doesn't need to be told by Christina, he already knows.
Judging from the promo, I really do think he'll finally get some screen time.
Margaret Says:
March 19th, 2009 4:43 PM
Yes this has been hard for us George fans.
I am sure George already knows deep down. They have that strong a connection.
I am so excited for the next couple of episodes, so many things are going to happen and unfolding. I agree with Trey that George will find out through Lexie because they are very close, or he already knows somehow and has been suspicious that something was wrong with Izzie for quite some time. After all in the previous seasons, they were so close that they could tell when something was wrong with each other even before discussing it. And I think that the strength of the MerDer relationship is being tested yet again. This is the time that Derrick needs Merideth the most just like he was there so many times when she needed him, e.g. when she almost drowned multiple times.
It brings my heart joy to see that George is finally getting the screen time he deserves...none. I knew Izzie was going to choose Christina.
I'm against strangling, I find it hard to cheer for a couple that has physical violence worked in the romance. It's not cool. Depression or not. How are they gonna smooth that over.
John Says:

George deserves no screen time? I think he earns it more than the rest right now, thanks.
I would've told Cristina too if I was in Izzie's place. Izzie needs someone strong to lean on, someone who will be the rock that supports her while she goes through this. I think deep down Izzie maybe knew that in the end, Cristina would make Izzie fight. If Cristina says it, you do it, end of story.

"Stand By Me" was tense! i personally did not enjoy the mcsteamy-little grey love saga due to its arrogance, i mean, come on ppl, arent you supposed to be fair to your subordinates? this show seriously promote unethical behavior at work. Its different going public than just showing off. and it is unwise for a professional like Sloan just to sink to the bottom of ethics and morality.
And I so agree with Izzie's anger, when she witnessed how the surgeons in that hospital treat their patients. PPl with this behavior have no rights of judging why George W Bush invaded Iraq as an exercise of power if they can accept and relate the poor psychological treatment to patients in a supposedly highly acclaimed hospital. These surgeons are morally corrupted, they are fully aware of their power over the patients leading to their corrupt exercise of power. They morally corrupted and a bunch of bullies. To make matters worse, they are a bully to the patient's life.
Isnt it time for us to show compassion towards other human being? Shouldnt we stop and think that having power over people entails great responsibility, and that behaving accordingly is one of the way for these responsibilities to come true? Please, don't take away the morality and ethics from this series.
