    OMFG! May 7: MerDer's wedding!

"The only thing I'll tell you about the 100th is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek's wedding day," Rhimes said. "That's big ... and that's all I'm going to say."

Shonda said it at a studio party to mark the ABC medical drama's 100th episode.

    OMG!!!

  5. annv Says:

this episode was awesome. the acting was subperb. christina and owen's intense opening scene was very realistic. then their love scene was beautiful. alex rocked tonight, all the way through. i wish he would have made a last minute appearance to give izzie some positive carma before surgery, but no matter. he made up for it in many ways. the proposal was a complete, unexpected, unique, ideal way for these to get engaged. SUPERB writing, acting, etc.....

  7. wyomom Says:

HOLY COW, I CAME ACROSS THIS

"The only thing I'll tell you about the 100th is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek's wedding day," Rhimes said. "That's big ... and that's all I'm going to say."

SO IT IS ACTUALLY THEY'RE WEDDING...WHOA

  9. smileymiley23 Says:

    agreed

  10. fan of the show Says:

The best scenes in episode are Cristina and Owens' ones.

  11. fan of the show Says:

They could spend their lives together being/(or not being all the time) lovers and surgeons.Derek could have his house and Meredith could have out of marriage love kids.
The tv viewers expected proposal for wedding

  12. fan of the show Says:

    afterwards instead of lately

  13. fan of the show Says:

Derek found the ring too easy. Meredith should kick it in some other direction as well(without touching it with hands because he could ask her lately)

  14. lovelygirl Says:

Omg, McCynic, I just read the article. I really hope Shonda is not lying about the wedding! I can't wait any longer!

  15. Nina Says:

Why did everybody love it. This is one of the worst episodes I've ever seen.

There was the ENGAGEMENT and this BIG surgery and this was it?!

Grey's Anatomy was all about the five interns right, and that you need friends. Well, Izzy was all alone. There wasn't even an Alex screaming 'I love you' before the surgery. The engagement was oke, if Der hadn't shown Mer the ring like a thousand times.

And there was no excitement at all. It was all just going on getting better. And Christina who first does everything for Owen and than leaves him. Very weak. Break up or stay, but this is so stupid.

There were just two people I loved in this episode. Izzy (as always) and Bailey. She was great, helping Izzy, and of coarse with the scarf!

  16. McCynic Says:

Dudes - SPOILERS - Heigl says she doesn't know that she's leaving and will stay if they'll have her, AND, the 100th episode IS a MerDer wedding - from Shonda's lips - http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090328/ap_en_tv/tv_grey_s_anatomy;_ylt=Ap10v2qsk.YjGSG7Hz.0iN9xFb8C

  17. Christelle Says:

    It was about time!!!
It has been a while since a bit humour and lightness. Is it just me or this season is way more "dark and twisty" than the previous ones?? Except for Sloan and Lexi, who are always very amusing!!

The elevator was a great idea, it had to be there and I liked the fact that Derek didn't actually propose.

Did anyone though Meredith looked a tiny bit weird when she announced she was engaged?? Something's fishy...she might just run away at some point, go find Addison and let her talk her back into it.

Anyway, we'll still have to wait till April 23 to know what happens next.

  18. HBS Says:

    Beautiful acting job
special kudos to ellen, patrick, sandra, kevin, justin, sara, chandra and tr

  19. JFCR Says:

The cancer doctor is from Cold Cases.

I loved this episode. I am really pleased that the writers are finally unveiling what they had been plotting like months ago...

It finally makes sense... And we have to hand it to Shonda, she was able to fulfil all our requests... Scenes with Callie and George (T.R. must have worked things out with ABC because he seems another person and he is growing on screen time... it's only lacking George and Izzie scenes but I'm sure we'll have a whole episode with that coming very, very soon), Callie and Arizona (but without that heaviness that Callica scenes had), James Pickens Jr. never seems to stop surprising - every week he keeps showing new things - Bailey and Meredith getting their groove back (Ellen finally having decent material), Alex is I think the one who evolved the most - he now CARES (if we re-watch season 1 and 2 again one would think that is impossible...), Cristina and Owen are earth-shatteringly good together (who cares about Burke? These two are perfect... they are so strong-willed and so damaged in their own specific way that they glue perfectly...), and of course Meredith and Derek... well... When I saw the title of this episode I already knew where this was ending... The famous elevator... :D

And finally... Izzie. Right from the beginning of Grey's I knew Izzie had a special place in Shonda's heart. Mer obviously has more screen time (she's the lead!) but Izzie always had the most interesting plot lines... And you are right, Izzie keeps the whole gang together. She'll like one of those people that never outshine the others but when they're missing everyone can tell the difference.

    Kudos Shonda. Keep'em coming!

Best scene for me: The Chief putting aside the sperm cup while eating xD Ah hilarious...

  20. Aimee Says:

I started crying when I heard Derek say 'Katie', their first patient ... great episode. Hehe it was like a brief recap of season 1. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

  21. Jessica Says:

Amazing episode last night, made me cry, laugh, and smile like mad crazy!!!

So excited to see what happens in the future and yay finally MerDer are engaged thank god!
I hope Izzy makes it, so sad and glad to see Alex by her side.
Sad about Cristina and Owen but hot sex scene, hope he gets the proper help and they make it work... SEXY COUPLES on GREY"S ANATOMY
    love it!
    Patrick Dempsey is sexy!!!
    Merder for life!!!

  22. B Says:

I loved it!! The new nurse is the mom in John Q and she's also in Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman...Great actress!
Does anybody know when the next new episode will come out?

  23. merderlover4life Says:

Alright, first off some serious KUDOS to the writers for an episode that so was so worth the 4 years and 5 seasons we all waited for it. I can honestly say that it was one of the best episodes ever aired of Grey's ANATOMY, or any other show for that matter!!! (And I should be a person who knows, considering I have never missed an episode on its premiere night in all 5 seasons! lol!)
Derek's proposal was perfectly played, not to sappy or gooey it was perfect for them, and especially perfect for her, which is why she said YES!!!!!! Oh, and Justin Chambers scene where he is talking to Merdith in the on-call room should totally be Emmy material! He was OUTSTANDING in his role throughout the entire episode! As for the Owen-Cristina relationship, yes I am sad that they can't be together right now, but thank God that he has finally realized that he needs help and is at least going to try and get it. The way they played that whole choking scene and love scene towards the end was absolutely perfect! It showed how much the two of them do really care for one another, and that maybe one day they will have the chance. (I really do hope so, I love them together!) And then there is George. I was really happy to see that his scenes and lines are beggining to pick up in number again, I am ecstatic to have have him back as a real player on the show. And last night his performance that was so reminiscent of Meredith in season 2 was extremely well played!
And finally, that leads me to all the references to past seasons!!! I mean the things like Cristina starting a relationship with sex in an on-call room, George hammering the crap out of plaster for casts, etc. All those little moments helped to remind me of what drew me to this show in the first place and has kept me watching since day 1!
So, again, KUDOS to all the writers and to Shonda for an episode that had me crying (in a good way) and running out on my deck to scream "FINALLY!!!!" at 10 o'clock at night (to the dismay of some of my neighbors I might add LOL!)

    Grey's RULES!!!!!
    SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Layla Says:

Don't get me wrong. I adored the George and Callie's scenes. TR is just the most brilliant actor ever, but couldn't they have given one ONE george and izzie scene, just one?

That woman doctor, she was on a soap I watched, Loving or AMC? Not sure.

    She is great.

I loved the show except for not enough george and GI, but I was especially grateful for no Mexie basically at all.

    Yes yes yes!

  25. izz77 Says:

I find this episode amazing!!! All characters deserve an Emmy in my opinion because each one did a perfect performance overcoat cristina, owen, bailey and merder.
Lately, The more I watch the show, the more reminds me the grey´s anatomy esence that we loved during the first and second season.
Dereck´s proposal has been one of the most magic moments of the show but I would have prefered that it was unexpected. It was wonderful but we have waiting too much for that moment knowing what it was going to happen.

I think the new episodes are going to be very intense and we are going to see a lot of drama.
Anybody knows Why have they stopped to broadcast for three weeks? What is the duration of the Easter in USA?
