And b/c Der is doing her surgery, whether she died in his surgery or afterwards during some other part of her fight, it would kill Derek professionally. And you know that's not gonna happen. our McDreamy is a McNeourosurgeon-- that's the way it is!!
This clip really makes me feel for Alex. JanisBing-- I think this clip DOES show that Alex didn't know all along. Yes, he noticed all the weird things with Izzie lately and yes, he had that conversation w/ Addie but it was more to the tune of thinking that she was going crazy mentally and him just not wanting to deal with it/not being able to handle more of that kind of hardship and heartache. I don't think it EVER occurred to him that she was sick with something like cancer. He's gonna tear himself up about the symptoms after he revisits every little thing one by one in his head. It's not gonna be pretty for Alex. AND Izzie did try to tell him something was very wrong early on (conversation about seeing Denny) and he dismissed as no big deal-- like dreaming about his dead grandmother. He didn't listen. He's gonna remember that. He's gonna now see how he's a doc and he didn't piece together physiological symptoms that he noticed in his own girlfriend... he's gonna be a mess, I think. Poor, poor Alex :(
George. Well here it is: I am happy to see that Shonda & Co. have established a reconnection b/t George and Izzie as friends. I am a bit concerned about this sneak peak and where is George, but I'm thinking that he's probably having a bit of a freak out and that's why the other clip has him smashing casts and Callie talking to him. I just hope that Shonda & Co. let him be there w/ Izzie.
As for Alex-- he has told Goerge to shut up about Izzie when he tried to talk about something being wrong before. I don't know if Alex will continue with that type of thing-- I certainly hope not for Izzie's sake-- she needs George right now.
George-- here's my honest-- I still feel like George and Izzie are the true love here. I love Alex, I really do, but I don't think he and Izzie are right for each other. I think he's in love w/ her. I think she loves him. But I think she's really in love w/ George. I think George and Izzie were the purest hottest love-- their connection is so amazing and the chemistry is undeniable.
Now I know there's a lot of Alex and Izzie fans too. I certainly mean no harm-- I'm not trying to diss your couple at all. But that's my opinion and how I've felt about Gizzie for a long time. You gotta admit-- Gizzie fans have had it rough!!! And AI fans can take comfort in the fact that Shonda & Co. have them together right now.

George is obviously still in love with Izzie. I cried like a a baby when he ran to her last week. Amd in this weeks promo he is the one who looks te most depressed about Izzie. I know alex shouts 'this isn't suppose to happen!' but how do we know what he is really talking about?

Greysaddiction - I also agree with everything you said, great post! Except Gizzie vs. A/I, and I'd like to explain why. First I have to say that while this was going on, I wanted Alex with Addison, so it wasn't because I wanted Izzie with Alex that I didn't believe them as a couple. I always saw it as George subconciously trying to get out of his marriage and Izzie panicking because everyone was moving on and she was alone without Denny. (I don't think it was a coincidence that she slept with George the same night that Alex told her he had a date. Not that she wanted to be with Alex, but that the one guy she thought would always be waiting in the wings was moving on).
I think that Izzie and George have a wonderful friendship and may have an even deeper connection than Izzie and Alex in some ways and that they do love each other. I did see some chemistry between them and I wasn't overly concerned about the adultery, considering what else has gone on in Grey's. My main problem with them was that, in my opinion, Izzie never really saw or treated George as a MAN. She loved him, but I never saw her take him seriously as a love interest. For me, she was pretty emasculating and I felt that she walked all over him and treated him pretty disrespectfully.
I also don't think that they were written that well once they slept together. I am not a huge fan of Izzie, even though I am an A/I fan, and I just thought that she became SO selfish and self righteous during the time with George and tried to justify all of her bad behavior by saying that she was in love. She even tried to say that God may condone their having sex or something like that (I can't remember exactly). She was horrible to Callie from the beginning (which was disrespectful to George esp. her remark about the ring). The low point for me was when she planned to fight Callie, which made her look like an idiot and poor George was running around falling over stuff and hiding while Izzie and Callie were going to fight. They tried the box of fun in the living room while Alex was living there, George sort of led both Izzie and Callie on and Izzie was constantly making annoying speeches. Then, in the end George forced Callie to be the one to break it off, rather than just man up and do it himself. In other words, I just thought that the aftermath of their one night stand brought out the worst in both of them. That is just my opinion. I do think that they had some good scenes during that time (the closet and the elevator kiss), but overall I just didn't believe it and didn't like what it had done to two characters who were previously likeable to me.
I understand why some people don't like Alex and Izzie, but I think that it has been shown that Alex gets her in ways that others don't (just like George). It was Alex who got her off Denny's bed, Alex who got her away from the front of the hospital and Alex who made her feel better when she was comparing herself to Cristina, just to name a few. But mostly, I think that Izzie can't walk all over Alex or bully him like I think she did with George and even Denny. He calls her on crappy behavior and she does the same with him. For the most part, Alex is much sweeter when it comes to Izzie and I find Izzie much, much less annoying when she is with Alex. (But frankly, sometimes I think that both Alex and George could do a lot better :)
Anyway, I appreciate your post and I just wanted to give you my views on the two couples. I didn't think that G/I was gross or incestuous, I just sort of started disliking both characters during and after the affair.

Still, he did pay attention to her, to the little things and tried to understand them.

I am the opposite. To me, George is the only person that makes Izzie likable and tolerable. She is sweeter with him, she is happier with him. That is something Katie Heigl pointed out herself.
Izzie glowed when she was with him.
With Alex, she just seem like a selfish self-obsessed and sex-obsessed girl I don't recognize.
George brought out the very best in her, the very nicest in her.
Plus I just don't feel that connection between AI or the chemistry.
Yes he took her off the bed, but it was easy to be there for ehr while Denny was in the way. When Denny was sick and she really needed him, he was awful to her and took pleasure in Denny's pain. Remember his nasty smile as Denny screamed out in pain?
He was nasty to Denny because of Izzie and he is nasty to George because of her. He wants her all to himself and continues to be a jerk to everyone around.
She told him her symptoms and he made it all about himself.
I think they bring out the worst in each other while Gizzie brought out the best.
So if the affair was why you didn't like Gizzie, the affair is over now so we won't see what you didn't like in them.
So then your reason for not liking them don't even exist anymore.
George and Izzie love each other undonditionally and without reservation and make each other happy. She will never have that bond with Alex that he can tell what she thinks just by looking at her.
Just curious, are you a fan of MerDer? Because I remember them not feeling that guilty about their affair, the BOTH times they did it.
George and Izzie knew they were wrong and they actually waited until George and Callie were separated to sleep together again.
The running part? Well that was right before they broke up and Shonda was already writing them out of character to please the immature little Gizzie haters out there who couldn't take the fact that Gizzie had a much deeper love than their abusive disgusting Lexziepuke ever did.
Alex will always be the abusive jerk to me and he will never deserve Izzie, and as long as Izzie is with him, I'd rather she be dead. The Izzie I love could never love a guy who treated Denny so awfully and who keeps humiliating George just for kicks.

Yes Alex did see the signs and ignored it. He told Addison he wanted to run away then didn't do a thing about it. Of course he saw, he lives and sleeps with her. He didn't see the mole on her back though, what kind of idiot sleeps with a woman and doesn't see a mole?
Geeorge on the other hand barely spent any time with Izzie but he knew, without any signs or clues. He loves her and knows her that well, and unlike Alex, he confronted her about it. George is no coward.
That is why he not Alex is the guy for Izzie.
And give me a break with the adultery thing. Every single couple on this show is based on adultery, including MerDer. So why are Gizzie the only one taken to talk with it when they are the only ones who actually took responsibility for it?
Oh I forgot, George doesn't look as good in a wife-beater as jerk Alex. I forgot so many shallow people watch Grey.

Agree, everyone on this show had affairs. George and Izzie had a drunken one-night stand. George got married when he was half-crazy with grief. They then tried very very hard to stay away from each other. George was even willing to change hospitals to resist his feelings for Izzie.
George didn't lead anyone out. He stayed away from izzie, something Derek didn't do when he reunited with Addison. He stalked Meredith all the time then they had sex with Addie in the other room.
Gizzie had one kiss that George broke off.
Then when George knew he loved Izzie, he told Callie about it. He went to her and told her. He apologized and took complete responsibility. Nobody on this show has ever done that.
George is the only guy on this show who ever take responsibility for his actions. Callie took no responsibility for ehr part in the marriage breakdown. The fact that she had George elope when he was half crazy with grief.
George maned up. Then he and Izzie felt so guilty according to Shonda, they couldn't even sleep together or kiss.
MerDer, Richard and Ellis, Mark and Addison, Alex and Ava all had affairs, long-lived affairs, not one-night stands. yet plenty of people root for MerDer and rooted for Maddison.
My guess is if Izzie had slept with Alex or any so-called hot guy, you wouldn't have any problem with it at all.
You forget that when Izzie gave the bone marrow during that time, george is the one that held her hand. george is the one that brought her to see hannah and held her hand while she did it, and he looked at her like she was the most ebautiful person in the world when she did.
Alex made Izzie feel better about Cristina? I remember Izzie giving Alex a half-smile when he did. When George told her she was a rock star a few episodes before, her whole face totally lit up. George made Izzie feel better about Cristina too, in episode 5.6 and in the episode they broke up when he said thank God you are not like her and he kissed her shoulder so lovingly.
George got a full smile oput of Izzie in 5.6, Alex only got a half-smile.
Alex took Izzie off the bed but then he dumped her there. George stayed with her for hours after, and he even sat down on the bathroom floor with her for hours. Where was Alex?
Alex got her to leave the hospital entrance? Well George that very night got Izzie to laugh. Rememebr the ice cream scene with Mer. That was the first Izzie smiled and laughed since Denny died. George did that. He got her to laugh, not Alex. Again, George not Alex was there.
When Izzie had to take Denny's last message, did she all Alex? No she called George, always George. He held her hand while she listened.
You can't name other Alex moments because there are no other Alex moments.
Oh well there is the moment where Alex yelled in her face to get out of his life or when he asked her if she was as sick of hearing her voice as he was. Lovely warm moments, were they?
Or when he had sex with that girl in the season premiere and smiled meanly at izzie, the same way he had smiled when he beeped back Denny's heart and Denny was howling in pain. Such a lovely guy!
Alex and Izzie's relationship has never been more than kinky sex act. Let's watch Alex go down on her, ewwww.
They must also be doing it in the dark if he didn't see what was wrong with her back while doing it with her.
Then Alex being self-centered as he is, maybe he ws busy gazing at himself in the mirror while they were doing it.
George would have noticed and done something, and George would never have been arrogant enough to think that Izzie seeing Denny was about her being scared of her feelings for him. How arrogant can you get?
And if Alex had went to George to tell him Izzie was talking to herself, George would never have hissed at him to shut his mouth about Izzie. George would have been worried and listened to Alex.
Also if George looked like Alex, everyone would want Izzie with George not the abusive Alex who cheated on her and treated her like crap.
What bugs people is Izzie would have an affair with a guy thta looks like George. After all, that is what Alex was shocked about when he found out about Gizzie. Not that she was having an affair (after all, the very next episode, he started screwing a married woman for weeks and weeks and unlike George, he wasn't moral enough to feel any twinge of guilt over it), but that she was doing it with George. O'Malley? he said disdainfully. And I remember a lot of AI fans agreeing with those comments and stating finally someone says that George is not hot enough for her.
I think Shonda was making fun of the AI's fans shallowness but they thought she was praising their shallowness.
The sad thing is I find George with his beautiful blue eyes, wonderful smile and beautiful lips way more attractive than the balding JC with his dead fish eyes and new beer belly.
The other sad thing is millions of us love Gizzie. I think we are at least half the fanbase but the haters couldn't care less. They spammed and they insulted and they threatened till they got their way, so much so that Shonda was scared to even give us any GI scenes, even as friends, and to even use George. And now we are losing him because of it, so congrats guys. You are not the majority but you sure yelled enough to make it seem that way.
That is why no Gizzie fans take anything seriously George did in season 4. Shonda started writing George like the haters aw him so they would be so happy with her and forgive ehr for daring to put Gizzie together and not get that the shallow AI fans would be so offended by it.
Watch season 3 and season 4 Gizzie and you'll see all the traces of Shonda sabotaging Gizzie to make you guys happy.

I was trying to be respectful and give my reasons for why I prefer A/I to Gizzie and I don't state things as fact that are 100% opinion (including that Shonda "gave in to the haters" whatever that means.) I also wanted to state that my feelings about Gizzie weren't because I wanted A/I but rather the way that the characters themselves acted.
If you actually READ my post you would see that I said that it was NOT the adultery that I minded so much because this is Grey's (and I'm not a Mer/Der fan). It is that BOTH characters became completely selfish and whiny, NEVER taking responsibility for their actions, especially Izzie.
Sabrina, Wilma & Nikki - Obviously we aren't ever going to agree since you all think George is perfect and I love Alex because he is flawed and complex. I never once mentioned Alex's looks, so that is obviously something you have thought about not me. I didn't insult George as I like him as a character and I LOVE the Gizzie friendship as I have stated MANY times and was simply trying to respectfully explain my OPINION as to why I preferred A/I, not start a fight full of rude posts stated as FACT rather than opinion. Well I'll be respectful. I completely disagree about George and Izzie never taking responsibility. For goodness sake, george took the full responsibility of his marriage failing on his shoulders. Izzie said they were wrong too in their one scene after they broke up, saying she made a mistake by sleeping with a married man.
I agree with the person saying they are the one couple who took responsibility for their affair.
Alex never took responsibility for any of his mistakes. He didn't feel guilty at all about sleeping with Ava even though he had met her very swet husband.

I'll try to write a post that runs contrary to popular opinion on here and I either get ignored or attacked. I happen to like several relationships that aren't well-liked apparently (Mexie, A/I, etc.) and sometimes just mentioning how cute I thought they were in a particular episode gets me posts commenting on how I must be an idiot, immature, etc. to like such a couple, how incestuous, abusive, etc. said couple is and so forth. It's gotten to the point where some of the time I don't even post because I don't feel the need to have my opinion savaged by other people. I don't write that anyone needs to "love" my couples more than others, and I don't attack the other couples beyond stating why I personally don't care for them, but that doesn't seem to stop people on this site. Who knows, I might get blasted for this post, for stating that I'm tired of getting tirades just for stating my opinion. Go figure. It's amazing how normal adults can get so vicious and worked up over characters that don't exist.

I was against the one-night stand but I blame Shonda for this.
She could have put our couple together the right way. Do you imagine how frustrating it is for us to have waited since day 1 for those two and then they put them together that way.
It seemed she never wanted them to succeed and it is unfair to all the Gizzie fans.
I hated the affair, but I loved how happy they made each other, how they were there for each other like during the Hannah crisis. I loved how happy Izzie was when he said I love you too. She just glowed.
I loved them smiling at each other on the bench. It was just so pure and beautiful.
There was something magic about them, and every other couple seems to pale in comparison since them. They ruined all the other couples for me.

For me, she was pretty emasculating and I felt that she walked all over him and treated him pretty disrespectfully.
I also don't think that they were written that well once they slept together. I am not a huge fan of Izzie, even though I am an A/I fan, and I just thought that she became SO selfish and self righteous during the time with George and tried to justify all of her bad behavior by saying that she was in love. She even tried to say that God may condone their having sex or something like that (I can't remember exactly). She was horrible to Callie from the beginning (which was disrespectful to George esp. her remark about the ring). The low point for me was when she planned to fight Callie, which made her look like an idiot and poor George was running around falling over stuff and hiding while Izzie and Callie were going to fight. They tried the box of fun in the living room while Alex was living there, George sort of led both Izzie and Callie on and Izzie was constantly making annoying speeches. Then, in the end George forced Callie to be the one to break it off, rather than just man up and do it himself. In other words, I just thought that the aftermath of their one night stand brought out the worst in both of them. That is just my opinion. I do think that they had some good scenes during that time (the closet and the elevator kiss), but overall I just didn't believe it and didn't like what it had done to two characters who were previously likeable to me.
I understand why some people don't like Alex and Izzie, but I think that it has been shown that Alex gets her in ways that others don't (just like George). It was Alex who got her off Denny's bed, Alex who got her away from the front of the hospital and Alex who made her feel better when she was comparing herself to Cristina, just to name a few. But mostly, I think that Izzie can't walk all over Alex or bully him like I think she did with George and even Denny. He calls her on crappy behavior and she does the same with him. For the most part, Alex is much sweeter when it comes to Izzie and I find Izzie much, much less annoying when she is with Alex. (But frankly, sometimes I think that both Alex and George could do a lot better :)
Anyway, I appreciate your post and I just wanted to give you my views on the two couples. I didn't think that G/I was gross or incestuous, I just sort of started disliking both characters during and after the affair.

Still, he did pay attention to her, to the little things and tried to understand them.
I find people a little bit unfair when they say she would've been better off with George. I guess I just feel for Alex.

I am the opposite. To me, George is the only person that makes Izzie likable and tolerable. She is sweeter with him, she is happier with him. That is something Katie Heigl pointed out herself.
Izzie glowed when she was with him.
With Alex, she just seem like a selfish self-obsessed and sex-obsessed girl I don't recognize.
George brought out the very best in her, the very nicest in her.
Plus I just don't feel that connection between AI or the chemistry.
Yes he took her off the bed, but it was easy to be there for ehr while Denny was in the way. When Denny was sick and she really needed him, he was awful to her and took pleasure in Denny's pain. Remember his nasty smile as Denny screamed out in pain?
He was nasty to Denny because of Izzie and he is nasty to George because of her. He wants her all to himself and continues to be a jerk to everyone around.
She told him her symptoms and he made it all about himself.
I think they bring out the worst in each other while Gizzie brought out the best.
So if the affair was why you didn't like Gizzie, the affair is over now so we won't see what you didn't like in them.
So then your reason for not liking them don't even exist anymore.
George and Izzie love each other undonditionally and without reservation and make each other happy. She will never have that bond with Alex that he can tell what she thinks just by looking at her.
Just curious, are you a fan of MerDer? Because I remember them not feeling that guilty about their affair, the BOTH times they did it.
George and Izzie knew they were wrong and they actually waited until George and Callie were separated to sleep together again.
The running part? Well that was right before they broke up and Shonda was already writing them out of character to please the immature little Gizzie haters out there who couldn't take the fact that Gizzie had a much deeper love than their abusive disgusting Lexziepuke ever did.
Alex will always be the abusive jerk to me and he will never deserve Izzie, and as long as Izzie is with him, I'd rather she be dead. The Izzie I love could never love a guy who treated Denny so awfully and who keeps humiliating George just for kicks.

Yes Alex did see the signs and ignored it. He told Addison he wanted to run away then didn't do a thing about it. Of course he saw, he lives and sleeps with her. He didn't see the mole on her back though, what kind of idiot sleeps with a woman and doesn't see a mole?
Geeorge on the other hand barely spent any time with Izzie but he knew, without any signs or clues. He loves her and knows her that well, and unlike Alex, he confronted her about it. George is no coward.
That is why he not Alex is the guy for Izzie.
And give me a break with the adultery thing. Every single couple on this show is based on adultery, including MerDer. So why are Gizzie the only one taken to talk with it when they are the only ones who actually took responsibility for it?
Oh I forgot, George doesn't look as good in a wife-beater as jerk Alex. I forgot so many shallow people watch Grey.
Gizzie will always be a billion times the couple Alex and Izzie is.

Agree, everyone on this show had affairs. George and Izzie had a drunken one-night stand. George got married when he was half-crazy with grief. They then tried very very hard to stay away from each other. George was even willing to change hospitals to resist his feelings for Izzie.
George didn't lead anyone out. He stayed away from izzie, something Derek didn't do when he reunited with Addison. He stalked Meredith all the time then they had sex with Addie in the other room.
Gizzie had one kiss that George broke off.
Then when George knew he loved Izzie, he told Callie about it. He went to her and told her. He apologized and took complete responsibility. Nobody on this show has ever done that.
George is the only guy on this show who ever take responsibility for his actions. Callie took no responsibility for ehr part in the marriage breakdown. The fact that she had George elope when he was half crazy with grief.
George maned up. Then he and Izzie felt so guilty according to Shonda, they couldn't even sleep together or kiss.
MerDer, Richard and Ellis, Mark and Addison, Alex and Ava all had affairs, long-lived affairs, not one-night stands. yet plenty of people root for MerDer and rooted for Maddison.
My guess is if Izzie had slept with Alex or any so-called hot guy, you wouldn't have any problem with it at all.
You forget that when Izzie gave the bone marrow during that time, george is the one that held her hand. george is the one that brought her to see hannah and held her hand while she did it, and he looked at her like she was the most ebautiful person in the world when she did.
Alex made Izzie feel better about Cristina? I remember Izzie giving Alex a half-smile when he did. When George told her she was a rock star a few episodes before, her whole face totally lit up. George made Izzie feel better about Cristina too, in episode 5.6 and in the episode they broke up when he said thank God you are not like her and he kissed her shoulder so lovingly.
George got a full smile oput of Izzie in 5.6, Alex only got a half-smile.
Alex took Izzie off the bed but then he dumped her there. George stayed with her for hours after, and he even sat down on the bathroom floor with her for hours. Where was Alex?
Alex got her to leave the hospital entrance? Well George that very night got Izzie to laugh. Rememebr the ice cream scene with Mer. That was the first Izzie smiled and laughed since Denny died. George did that. He got her to laugh, not Alex. Again, George not Alex was there.
When Izzie had to take Denny's last message, did she all Alex? No she called George, always George. He held her hand while she listened.
You can't name other Alex moments because there are no other Alex moments.
Oh well there is the moment where Alex yelled in her face to get out of his life or when he asked her if she was as sick of hearing her voice as he was. Lovely warm moments, were they?
Or when he had sex with that girl in the season premiere and smiled meanly at izzie, the same way he had smiled when he beeped back Denny's heart and Denny was howling in pain. Such a lovely guy!
Alex and Izzie's relationship has never been more than kinky sex act. Let's watch Alex go down on her, ewwww.
They must also be doing it in the dark if he didn't see what was wrong with her back while doing it with her.
Then Alex being self-centered as he is, maybe he ws busy gazing at himself in the mirror while they were doing it.
George would have noticed and done something, and George would never have been arrogant enough to think that Izzie seeing Denny was about her being scared of her feelings for him. How arrogant can you get?
And if Alex had went to George to tell him Izzie was talking to herself, George would never have hissed at him to shut his mouth about Izzie. George would have been worried and listened to Alex.
Also if George looked like Alex, everyone would want Izzie with George not the abusive Alex who cheated on her and treated her like crap.
What bugs people is Izzie would have an affair with a guy thta looks like George. After all, that is what Alex was shocked about when he found out about Gizzie. Not that she was having an affair (after all, the very next episode, he started screwing a married woman for weeks and weeks and unlike George, he wasn't moral enough to feel any twinge of guilt over it), but that she was doing it with George. O'Malley? he said disdainfully. And I remember a lot of AI fans agreeing with those comments and stating finally someone says that George is not hot enough for her.
I think Shonda was making fun of the AI's fans shallowness but they thought she was praising their shallowness.
The sad thing is I find George with his beautiful blue eyes, wonderful smile and beautiful lips way more attractive than the balding JC with his dead fish eyes and new beer belly.
The other sad thing is millions of us love Gizzie. I think we are at least half the fanbase but the haters couldn't care less. They spammed and they insulted and they threatened till they got their way, so much so that Shonda was scared to even give us any GI scenes, even as friends, and to even use George. And now we are losing him because of it, so congrats guys. You are not the majority but you sure yelled enough to make it seem that way.
That is why no Gizzie fans take anything seriously George did in season 4. Shonda started writing George like the haters aw him so they would be so happy with her and forgive ehr for daring to put Gizzie together and not get that the shallow AI fans would be so offended by it.
Watch season 3 and season 4 Gizzie and you'll see all the traces of Shonda sabotaging Gizzie to make you guys happy.
Yet we Gizzie fans are still there, we still know Alex is an abusive jerk and

Wow. This is why I don't often post on this site and will certainly keep my opinions to myself from now on. I was trying to be respectful and give my reasons for why I prefer A/I to Gizzie and I don't state things as fact that are 100% opinion (including that Shonda "gave in to the haters" whatever that means.) I also wanted to state that my feelings about Gizzie weren't because I wanted A/I but rather the way that the characters themselves acted.
If you actually READ my post you would see that I said that it was NOT the adultery that I minded so much because this is Grey's (and I'm not a Mer/Der fan). It is that BOTH characters became completely selfish and whiny, NEVER taking responsibility for their actions, especially Izzie.
Sabrina, Wilma & Nikki - Obviously we aren't ever going to agree since you all think George is perfect and I love Alex because he is flawed and complex. I never once mentioned Alex's looks, so that is obviously something you have thought about not me. I didn't insult George as I like him as a character and I LOVE the Gizzie friendship as I have stated MANY times and was simply trying to respectfully explain my OPINION as to why I preferred A/I, not start a fight full of rude posts stated as FACT rather than opinion. Obviously, respectful discussion is not wanted or accepted here.

Well I'll be respectful. I completely disagree about George and Izzie never taking responsibility. For goodness sake, george took the full responsibility of his marriage failing on his shoulders. He apologized many times and said he was completely wrong. if that is not taking responsibility, what is?
Izzie said they were wrong too in their one scene after they broke up, saying she made a mistake by sleeping with a married man.
I agree with the person saying they are the one couple who took responsibility for their affair.
Alex never took responsibility for any of his mistakes. He didn't feel guilty at all about sleeping with Ava even though he had met her very swet husband.
I am not trying to be rude, but did you ff the Gizzie scenes or what? I don't get how you can claim they didn,t take responsibility when they did, but like Bailey said, it takes two people to wreck a marriage and Callie got George to elope when he was not even in his normal state.
His dad had died the week before.
George ALWAYS apologize, he apologize years after for every single mistake he makes.
Yes he whines at times, so does Alex btw. I remember him whining extra loud when he failed his exam on bedside manner.
But George has every right to whine. He never gets a fair shake at all.
I don't think he is perfect but I do think he is by far the sweetest, most decent guy on the show and the only one to ever take responsibility.

Alex is the one that never takes responsibility for anything. Did he ever apologize for calling Izzie a stupid *itch, for Ava, for anything?
You seem to have a whole different set of standards for Alex. You find him complex for being whiny and immature and never taking any responsibility yet you blast George for the same thing, when George has apologized so many times for his actions.
IMO Alex and Izzie are an abusive sick dysfunctional couple.
George and Izzie actually love and respect each other and bring out the absolute best in each other.

OMG-- I didn't mean to start a holy war! I saw some Gizzie support here and I wanted to celebrate!!! And I wanted to discuss Alex and Izzie and George and Izzie.
I don't mean any disrespect to AI fans, especially you, TDS. Keep in mind it's been a long, rough road for us wary Gizzie fans. Really, even those who aren't fans can admit that the lack of Gizzie interaction and lack of George screentime is just not right. We may have been dragged around a lot over the past year, but we certainly are passionate about our cause!!
Kim- I like the way you just put it. Very to the point and sums up for me.
How about we call a truce to this battle b/f it becomes an all-out war. Really, who knows what direction Shonda & Co. are going to take the Alex-Izzie relationship and the George-Izzie relationship? I mean, sometimes when I think I know which way she's going, she does a complete 180.
There was a spoiler a ways back about George and Alex having to pull together for Izzie. I really think that would be something to see.

TDS, thank you for your thoughtful, well-stated personal opinion. I understand how you feel. I'll try to write a post that runs contrary to popular opinion on here and I either get ignored or attacked. I happen to like several relationships that aren't well-liked apparently (Mexie, A/I, etc.) and sometimes just mentioning how cute I thought they were in a particular episode gets me posts commenting on how I must be an idiot, immature, etc. to like such a couple, how incestuous, abusive, etc. said couple is and so forth. It's gotten to the point where some of the time I don't even post because I don't feel the need to have my opinion savaged by other people. I don't write that anyone needs to "love" my couples more than others, and I don't attack the other couples beyond stating why I personally don't care for them, but that doesn't seem to stop people on this site. Who knows, I might get blasted for this post, for stating that I'm tired of getting tirades just for stating my opinion. Go figure. It's amazing how normal adults can get so vicious and worked up over characters that don't exist.

Hey guys, let's calm down a bit.
No need to fight just because we don't like the same couples.
TDS, I don't agree about GI not taking responsibility for their actions. I think they did, more than most people do on this show.
I was against the one-night stand but I blame Shonda for this.
She could have put our couple together the right way. Do you imagine how frustrating it is for us to have waited since day 1 for those two and then they put them together that way.
It seemed she never wanted them to succeed and it is unfair to all the Gizzie fans.
I hated the affair, but I loved how happy they made each other, how they were there for each other like during the Hannah crisis. I loved how happy Izzie was when he said I love you too. She just glowed.
I loved them smiling at each other on the bench. It was just so pure and beautiful.
There was something magic about them, and every other couple seems to pale in comparison since them. They ruined all the other couples for me.
