VABeaglelvr-- I think the crossover happens during both shows' air times, but I'm not 100% sure. Typically with crossover events, that is how it has gone down in the past. (just from crossovers from other shows and their spinoffs-- this is new to Greys)
What if he like rented Joe's for an hour or so and proposed? Then, if she freaked out she could not do it in front of a crowd. Also since the whole hospital pretty much knows about the ring they'd think it was a show.

The empty Joe's place is just perfect for the proposal. The leading character likes red roses and maltz whisky. Joe could offer small rolled paper with Edgar Allan Poe Poem as well.
Am I the only one who has a feeling that if Mer finds out that she wasn't (anywhere near) the first person to know about the proposal or see the ring...that it could go badly.
I have mixed ideas on how Mer would react if she knew everyone knew. I mean I don't she'd be too pissed because at SGH if you tell just one person everyone knows. She also would probably know Derek would tell Mark and Mark isn't the most quiet person.
How do you think she'll react to his strange behavior???
It will probably freak her out. I mean just about any misinterpretted step by Derek makes her freak out. I don't think she would be really upset if people knew she he was proposing, but showing the ring to everyone??

May be Meredith should talk with Derek in the same way as the Godfather was talking with his adopted son when Sonny died?
Their friends should be busy and excited by the news and could start some preparations.

On other hand it is wedding not funeral and fairy tales has been mentioned at the pilote episode.
So I remember one Charles Perrault character (Ricci with the hair)
who has started preparations for his wedding without informing
the bride(he tought she was stupid and blond)
She did not object them because she considered he has more brain than her.

Sometimes I have no clue what you are talking about and don't get what you are trying to say, but your last post about what if Mark and others all proposed to Mer b/f Der so by the time Der does it, it would be like the 10th one.... That was a really funny suggestion!! Certainly would be a riot to see and everyone would break in Mer and by the time Der got to her she wouldn't freak at all... funny stuff. Although, the thing that would stink about it would be missing the McDreamy romantic moment. Funny to suppose though!
