whatever is wrong with izzie, ill be sad if she goes, the people who are sick of her and whatever, remember that izzie is one of our people, she's an original cast member and she adds to the dynamic of the show just as any of the others, but guys. seriously, at least think about the history of the show before you forget how important izzie has been.

Elevator Love Letter is a song (a brilliant song, by The Stars). I wonder if it's somehow tied in. The song is not so different from Derek and Meredith - well, Meredith - someone who wants to love but never can let herself. Though it certainly wouldn't lead up to a proposal (in my mind). But it would certainly be the closest thing to the supermarket aisl for him.
I agree that Derek will likely come back and save Izzie. Maybe he'll prove that you can remove a frontal and parietal lobe and have someone live.

this concerns me. And I don't necessarily think he means that Mer is going to propose instead of Der. As fans, I don't think most of us care WHO does the proposing-- we just want it TO HAPPEN!!!
I also don't think he means that they will break up. I don't think MerDer will break up, I think they are meant to stick it out through the long haul. BUT I do think that where Der just went is more than just a little BUMP in the road-- I think this is going to take a lot of work for the two of them to pull through this together. I think that what Pete Nowalk was saying is that there isn't going to be a proposal. That's what I think he was saying. That they aren't going to call it quits but there also isn't going to be a rosy heartsandflowers proposal either.
BUT...
the title of the next epi Elevator Love Letter gives me hope that my interpretation of Mr. Nowalk's comment is wrong. If a proposal happens in the elevator or a note to meet at Joe's for the proposal, that would be consistent with Jen and the supermarket proposal, would make sense. I SO want a proposal to happen, but Der is just such a MESS!!!
