No Gizzie was not given a chance. They had one kiss and one 20 secodns love sceen, went out for two episdoes and the ended.
I know for a fact when they first got together, and he said I love you too, and they had the bench scene, many former haters fell in love with the pairing and then were shocked when about 3 episodes later they were dropped.
Yet the elevator kiss, that love scene and them flirting in the hall showed amazingly hot chemistry between the two.
Mark and Lexie are being given a chance, and they have abssolutely no chemistry.
George and Izzie never were and many of us Gizzie fans have felt cheated since that day.
Yes they had their haters but they also had a lot of very loyal fans and Shonda acted like our feelings didn't matter at all.
Then she acted like the George fans' feelings didn't matter at all.
I for one will never forgive her which is why I am leaving when George goes.
I absolutely have to agree with greysanatomyismylife.

Let me say again: They are great together, as a couple and I can't say the same about mark and lexie, this couple has NO quemistry, please!!! If TR and KH are really leaving I hope that they fall in love again and get married (so at least one marriage will happen in this show).

I dont think they should leave Izzie is one of my favorite characters of the show and I like George as well. Its just not gonna be the same without them. Tonights episode sure did make it look like Izzie is leaving. I think when I was reading spoilers a while back they said Izzie is gonna have a brain tumor.. Well tonight sure did stick to that idea, she is going blind or having trouble seeing isnt that sign of some type of tumor in the brain.. Well I cant wait to see next weeks episode..
