Jeez, this is just another off screen drama, I am afraid this great show will be remembered for. I think it's such a shame, the cast for whatever reason seem unhappy, I can't recall another popular show with so much bad vibes coming from the cast while still on air and it's peak. Can it be so bad acting on a hit show with all the benefits that brings, I can think of a lot worst ways to earn a living. It distracts from the enjoyment of watching the show.I like Katherine H but I have to say I thought her Emmy comment was extremely unprofessional and ungracious, in an ensemble cast you can't expect to always have award winning material. I am now more than ever rooting for MerDer, for me they are the glue of the show and need to have more screen time together.

Addison- After a while, I got over it.
Erica- Heartbroken, we needed a female attending again.
About to Leave:
Izzie- I can't believe my rockstar is leaving. :-(

i agree with you greysaddiction and xie. this has not even been confirmed by ABC! i feel bad for katherine and T.R. because their storylines have been poor, but suck it up. you have a steady job and are making great money which many people during theses times would love. you both committed to a contract and a character so stick it out until the end. the show would obviously not be the same without the original five interns and the original cast, so i just wish everyone and the actors/actresses/and even shonda could like watch the season 1 and season 2 to remind them what its really all about. and to remind them they made a committment to a great show.

of course it will be a shame if the guys leave, they've been there since the beginning. But in all honesty...
Grey's Is Too Crowded!!! They could do with losing a couple of main castmembers so the writers can give a decent amount of screentime to some of the others! We've hardly seen Callie for a while, the Chief also, and even Cristina is fading into the background. Izzie's story has dominated this season and it will be nice to see how things juggle around when a few faces drop out. Her story has become tiresome, and needs a kick up the ass to get in gear and actually.... well, HAPPEN!
I look forward to seeing what the writers do having a few less mouths to feed!
Shouldn't we start worrying once there is a released statement?
Should I even bother to care until then?
TR is certainly going to be missed. George was a comic relief and could deliver really good scenes. Not my favorite but not to make him leave.
And good riddance to whiny Katherine Heigl. I hope that you bit the hand that fed you well so that you'll pay your debts later. No Oscar for you! So happy and so glad she's gone. It actually means that I won't have to FF Grey's anymore!
The chemistry of the show is certainly changing but we need to hope for the best. Otherwise, it's a lost battle.
Until the statement is released...I'll have a more formed opinion.

I agree almost completely with Madison on the first page. Izzie was/is my favorite character and I love Greys Anatomy in general--it too was my escape from reality, my little piece of heaven. I feel that Katherine's outspokenness has been way blow out of proportion. Anyhow, I know it will be hard to continue watching after 1/3 of the original cast is gone, but I'll do my best. I sound like a complete loser for saying this but, I am devastated :(

Why wouldn't they leave?
I would if I had the money they had.
I happen to love George and Izzie, especially George, and just won,t watch without them. It is a shamwe all the haters have come out to play. I don't believe they are the majority.

I think that it is sad that George and Izzie want to leave the show. I think we should try to think about this positively. While it is extremely sad to say goodbye to these characters, it might be a good opportunity for new characters to come on the show. I mean for instance, look at Owen Hunt. I think having him on the show has made it soooo much better. I love the chemistry his character brings to the show. If you look at shows like ER, they've been on for like 10 seasons and they have main characters leave all the time and bring in new characters. I think that this will force Grey's to go in a new direction, which could be good. On the other hand, it could ruin it, but I would like to try to stay positive about my favorite TV show. If it's true that they are leaving, I will be sad because I have become used to all the characters on Grey's and love watching their lives unfold, but I will continue to watch it and hope that if they leave, the show will find a way to compensate for the loss.
Grey's really will go down the tubes if they let all their core actors (we have watched and grown to love for FIVE seasons people!) leave and bring in all these characters we don't care about and have nothing invested in.
Who the heck runs the show? ABC or Shonda? If Shanda's PMSing and in a tif about what someone said, did, whatever, then I say someone at ABC needs to pull up their pants and tell Shonda to GET OVER IT! She's ticking off the fans and without us, she has no show. I ONLY watch PP b/c its a spin off of Greys. If Grey's looses all their actors and gets canned, you can be certain PP will get canned...then where will Shonda be?
I don't understand why there is so much negative publicity surrounding GA these days. Why is everyone thinking the worst about the show, the ratings the characters or about the actors! I think this is such a shame. It really makes me sad! I love Ga and have been a fan since day 1. This show has certainly had its ups and downs as any show would have. We are so lucky to have such a great cast of actors that come together each week and entertain us on Thursdays. The thoughts of any of them leaving is tragic to me. I certainly hope that this news isn't true about anyone leaving. I feel that what makes this show the #1 show that it is is by the help of each one of the cast members. But, if it is true and any of them do decide to leave, I'm sure that the show will go on and I'll be there to watch it. Mer/Der are my favorites but I would hate to see anyone leave. I also thought their contracts were for 7 years. I thought I heard PD and EP say that either in an interview or read in an article somewhere. Maybe each one has a different contract. Like greysaddiction said, lets just wait and see until the actors themselves confirm it or ABC. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen! Lets be supportive and hope our show will be around for years to come!

Ha, I laughed when I heard the writers were trying to find a way to write out George so he could come back... I mean, Denny came back, didn't he? What could they possibly do with T.R.'s character that he couldn't come back from? ;)
And I really do love Grey's now, I just wish it had stayed slightly more loyal to the original cast. For example, Callie came on, had a major storyline with George, and now she gets more screen time than him.
I'll keep watching for MerDer, Cristina, Bailey, and all the other great characters, but I think the show won't be as balanced without George and Izzie. They both worked great with patients and just balanced out the personalities of the more intense surgeons.
I wish Katie and T.R. the best, regardless :)

I had heard before they we're originaly signed for 6 but some agreed to do more. That is only if the ratings were still high and the storylines were also good. I know the storylines have been up and down but I hate to think next season would be it.

Brook got kicked off, clearly not because she was a lesbian, we have TWO lesbos on set now. Yes get rid of Lexie and minor characters, not George. George is basically the heart of this show.
Get rid of Lexie and others. How about the Chief? He is such a jerk lately.
TR has all right to be mad. He has 2 lines per episode.
He is such a great character and this show will die without him and Izzie.
February 10th, 2009 7:39 PM
So what? TR is an actor. He wants to ACT. Money is not everything in the world.
As for Katie, she is a star and doesn,t need this show and the stupid stories they give her.
The real Katie and TR fans wouldn't judge them and will follow them wherever they go.
People quit jobs all the time.
I watch for those two so this show can kiss me goodbye.
