I know I love the Gizzie couple but if we can't have that back, why won't she give us at least their friendship? Don't we deserve at least that?

Since no one else has said it I"m going to. I think Izzie will confide in Mark Sloan. In the first half of the Private Practice crossover he mentioned he was using endoscopy for cancer sections in the head and neck. Except he has no criteria for patients so he can't test it. If Izzie gets wind of this via Lexie, with Sloan looking for another major success (assuming the facial thing goes well), and with Derek on the fritz, Mark Sloan could very well be her confidante.

I agree, Izzie will have Sloan treat her- or try to. And I'm thinking she's going to keep this under wraps for a few episodes, involving as few people as possible. How else can the writers incorporate this without a sense of rushing it. Not sure if they'll really kill Izz off but I'm thinking it should be slow and dramatic- impacting everyones lives. She needs and deserves a big bang if she is really being written off. And I must have missed something major: Derek leaving?!? Someone fill me in! I know he was a wreck but...

Hey Jen,
In the second half of the PP crossover Derek lost a patient after he knicked her aneurism. He told the husband over and over that she would be fine but everytime he operated things just got worse and the patient died. This pissed off the husband and he is now accusing Derek of murder. Now learning that he's lost more patients than he's saved Derek is refusing to operate seemingly ever.

tonight's episode killed me- with derek leaving the hospital & slamming meredith's ring into the woods to izzie having cancer with a 5% chance survival rate!?!?!?! seriously... seriously, that's all i have to say. i feel like grey's is falling apart :( i just hope izzie isn't being killed off because the show will not be the same without her... and derek and meredith get married soon!!!
