I'm pro-death penalty, but I agree with Meredith. They should treat him and not judge him because they are doctors. Their job is not to judge their patients, simply to treat them. He should be treated so that he will be able to be executed--he doesn't deserve an easy way out. This particular patient provokes quite a bit of controversy and should make for an interesting episode.

I like it.

Problem is, Bridg, most have no guilt. We shall see with this fictional one. If he wants to make amends by donating his organs why not?

Monique, I think it would be unlikely that you would be on the case had your daughter been killed, just as generally you're not allowed to treat family members, you wouldn't be allowed to treat the man who had killed your daughter.
I'm not pro death penalty, personally I think that the person deserves to sit in a cell for the rest of his/hers life with their guilt. But since this is just a tv programme I'm not going to think about it too much ;)
Can't wait for this episode, should be good :D

Of course, the serial killer could be true medical doctor as well.
He could practice eutanasia illegally.

Some people belive that medical doctors have something common with serial killers.Their psihology is almost the same.

The serial killer should apollogize to Meredith for not sleeping with her then. Bank robbery is a pretty good excuse.

I think we have seen the serial killer before. The same guy had flirted with Meredith in Joe's dive on the previous Thanksgiving.
But she had slept with another guy.

Happy New Year!
So the serial killer will smile at Meredith and will pout at Cristina and Derek. Will he have any problem how to treat them?
you're a doctor. your 5-year-old daughter is kidnapped, killed then raped and finally burned in a field for you to find. (this happens all to often where i live so it's not unrealistic). then one day while on duty, you are told to save the life of the man who did this to your daughter and countless other children. how can you not understand the ethical dilemma some of the doctors find themselves in????
cristina's reaction is understandable. as a doctor though, she shouldn't let that get in the way of treating a patient. but that's where experience comes in. this is how people learn. so we can't hate on her for acting the way she is.
This should annoy some people. I'm pro-death penalty and I agree with Cristina. The guy was judged. Not by the doctors, but by a jury of twelve peers who found him guilty. As shown in the preview, he's been turned down on all of his appeals. He wants to be paralyzed, just to avoid execution. I'm not really a fan of Derek's, but for once I agree with him. Meredith's too much of a Pollyanna for me, she thinks everyone deserves extra chances. I think that some people use their extra chances the first time they commit a truly vicious, cruel or inhumane crime and they SHOULD have to pay for it. No killing the person doesn't make you better then them. But why the heck should they get to live out the rest of their natural life living on free room and board at the local prison. Why should good people have to pay to keep these animals?

oh yeah this episode is gonna be great. the case seems to be a extremely difficult situation and will lead to some drama I guess...
I am not a supporter of death penalty, yet there are some crimes that are just too horrible. As I have read this guy is a serial killer, so I understand Derek's and Cristina's reaction that they don't want to treat him... I think I would act in the same way.
Oh I'm so thrilled to see what's gonna happen :-)

I'm not pro-death penalty. To me, killing the killer doesn't make you any better than they are. I agree with Mer as well. Derek is annoying me right now. He seems to have some traditional values and his judgement isn't right. Until they know what he did, they should treat him. They have no basis for not treating him.
