While I don't know if I think Dunn is sincere in wanting to save the little boys life, he is going to die anyway. If he doesn't want to stay alive, and his organs are a match, then they should take the organs and help the boy. Dunn will be dead so it's not like he'll know or care.

"Twelve angry men"
I know this is fiction and they can write it anyway they want. My qustion is would he even be a legal donor? I raise this question because recently during a local blood drive someone wanted to donate blood and they couldn't. Their reason was because they had been released from prison not to long ago. If your not allowed to donate blood why in the world would they let someone donate organs? Bailey and Derek have let their emotions play a big part in this and that is something they keep telling the interns not to do. It's a no win situation for everybody in some way. It's apparent lessons wern't learned from Izzie cutting Denny's LVAD wire. Bailey is putting them in the same situation Izzie did by trying to go around the system.

So to be one half good as "Twelve angry men" writers will need
two more characters. May be Hunt and Richard.

This is hard. They should, as doctors, do anything they can to save him, cause they don't have the right to kill him. He is a patient as everybody else and killing him is the executioner's job.
But on the other hand he's gonna die in five days anyway. He can actually save someone's life before he dies, and it's a waste of fully functional organs.
(Maybe he's just trying to get rid of the the execution. But that doesn't matter, it's his own choice to try to kill himself, and he dies no matter what)
He did try to kill his own brain, so if he managed to do it, they can give his liver to the boy. But they shouldn't as doctors stop trying to save him, only if it's not possible anymore. So if he gets braindead by his own actions, as an attempt of suicide, they can give the liver to the boy. Otherwise, as much as the boy does deserve a new liver, they should wait until they find him another one.
They shouldn't as doctors treat the killer differently and kill him themselves, no matter what he did. It's just not right.
It's not the doctors choice that's on the line, it's the PDR-patients choice weather he wants to kill himself or not. The doctors can just be what they are, and try to save him the best they can.
In this case I think I agree with Derek, he might have his own intentions, but he is a doctor and tries to save him. And I also agree a little bit with Mer, she thinks they should treat him like everybody else in that hospital, but she does understands his wishes too, and respect that. I think Miranda is crossing the line here, even if it may be for a good cause. She is like Izzie, getting too involved in her own patient. And she doesn't care about the doctors oath to try to save every patient.
This is just my opinion and I know I've written a lot here but there's just not a simple answer to this. I think the writers of Grey's should get an eloge for writing these episodes, they're great.

She's clearly not thinking and behaving as a doctor, she's emotionally attached to this boy. This is not typical Miranda. Derek would never cave; he's not emotionally attached. And he's right not to. There is a room full of nurses/witnesses of this conversation. His career would be over. I think he will probably save the serial killer, the boy will die, and we will all witness the way it would likely take place in real life, only with a very emotionally-driven song in the background. It's the classic "right to live - who decides" story. I think it's quite interesting and the acting in this scene is very good.
Te kid dies, i read in a spoiler site a while ago that Miranda is involved in a case with a little boy over three episodes and the boy dies and it's very sad.
As for the organ donation, I would not want organs from a serial killer. I know it would mean I could live, but still, keeping a serial killer alive in my body, I just couldn't do it, I would rather go back on the waiting list.
I think Derek should keep the man alive for as long as possible, but I also see it as a waste of resources, surgeries cost hospitals a lot of money, and for what, a man who killed women.
If I was a doctor, and I wouldn't get in trouble, I would fix him just enough so that he would live till his execution date, then have to be killed anyway, so he gets the pain of the surgery, as well as the pain of the execution.
But anyway, I am not a doctor and the writers have already decided what is going to happen, we just have to wait a week and find out.
:-)
RIP Jackson
