Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly is dishing on all things Grey's Anatomy in his weekly Q&A today. Of course, there's still plenty left unresolved. Here's what he's got:
Q: If Denny is all in Izzie's head on Grey's Anatomy, how can he appear in scenes without her, like the one in last week's episode where he was sitting on the edge of the bed with Alex?
A: Hmm. That's a great question. Let me ask ABC president Steve McPherson and get back to you. Because if I learned anything at press tour last week, it’s that McPherson loves to discuss the goings-on at Grey's Anatomy, both on screen and off.
Q: Seriously, how much longer is Denny going to be around for on Grey's Anatomy? Love Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but it's just not working for me.
A: He'll be around at least through March, since that's when Izzie's aneurysm-esque medical condition finally gets diagnosed.
Q: I am loving the new doctor Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) on Grey's Anatomy. Any news on whether they plan to keep her on?
A: They're grooming her as a love interest for Callie (Sara Ramirez), so I suspect she'll be staying put for now. Speaking of which, look for Callie to seek advice from Addison about her feelings for Arizona in the February 12 crossover with Private Practice.

I don't understand how her best friends and also people who are DOCTORS have not realized by now that there is something VERY wrong with Izzie. I mean, come one, George was catching onto it, and then he just dropped it...it doesn't make sense. But I still like the story line, and hopefully things will start proceeding more quickly....1 day til Grey's!

The only reason no one around Izzie has figured it out yet, is b/c Shonda & writers won't let George near her! hahahaha!!!!!

George would be the only one who would figure it out. Let's face it, he almost did, but out of respect for Izzie, handed the worrying over for Alex to explore (cuz DUH Alex should be worried). Don't get me wrong, I love all the characters (you guys know how much I love Mer-- she's awesome!), but everyone around Izzie, everyone but George, who cares about Izzie is so self-absorbed that they just don't even really "see" her at times.
George will figure it out when he gets tired of waiting for Alex to step up to the plate and he sees that she's still behaving strangely or is getting worse.
or, should I say, when Shonda and writers let him come near her and talk to her again!

I agree that all the characters are too self absorbed to notice izzie a lot of the times...for example back in season 2 the big thanksgiving episode, no one cared about the fact that izzie spent alllll day cooking thanksgiving dinner they all showed up late anyways....not that she cared. But I agree thats how it's been, so maybe this will bring them all together....I also think that Alex is in denial because of Rebecca/Ava/Jane Doe. He figures well shes not slitting her wrists, or peeing on couches so shes fine. Im very intrigued to see where Shonda is going with this....

You have to admit though...the only symptom she seems to have is seeing Denny and she's hiding it from everyone..other then that she seems normal. George is the only one that knows her the best (Alex is starting too) but he realizes that she would never neglect the Clinic like she had been.

I love Arizona but I will not like her with Callie. I am SICK of Callie and not interested in her character ever since her relationship with George ended. Bring back GEORGE!!! We need to see more of him and less of Callie. There should be more interaction with George and Izzie. Their characters should always remain as close friend, they were so entertaining in that respect. He would also see there is something wrong with her.

Yes, I do agree that George should definitely have some more air time and him sleeping with Izzie stuffed up their relationship.
I am looking forward to seeing what happens with Callie and Arizona and how their relationship comes about. I'm seen promo pics for next week show and there are pics of them in Joe's but it doesn't give much away. It'll be good for Callie and have Addison to talk to about this as well YAY!!! Addison is back.
Can't wait to see the next few coming up episodes!!

I actually loved the Gizzie couple as many people did, but Shonda ignored all the GI fans and concentrated on the haters like they were the only ones that count. Now she is so scared of those haters she won't even let George and Izzie be best friends. Because the world would end or something if George and Izzie became friends again. It makes me so angry.
Why are the George and GI fans always ignored to the point we can't even have the friendship back?
Shonda bends backwards to please all the other fanbases but us.

Yes I want George and Izzie best friends again like most people. What is Shonda's problem? Why won't she let George be there for Izzie?

As an Alex fan, I can tell you that Shonda ain't bending over backwards to make me happy. I like Izzie because she makes Alex so happy, but other than that I think she is one of the most self absorbed of the bunch. And when she finally gets A/I back together, she embroils them in a never ending ridiculous storyline that makes them all look bad.
But I also really, really miss George and I hope that he becomes involved in the Izzie storyline. I think that Alex is kind of in denial, although he has asked her if she is OK, he then comes up with reasons for her behavior based on what his experiences are (that she's scared of a relationship with him because of his past behavior, etc.) I think that the Izzie/Alex/George dynamic is an interesting one and I hope thats where this storyline will eventually go, with Alex and George having to work together to help Izzie. And with Denny out of the picture once and for all, please!
I also think that the writers are making Alex act kind of out of character so that it doesn't look like he is jealous when Izzie told him she was having sex with Denny, even if Alex just thought it was a fantasy. If it looks like Alex is starting to get hurt by Izzie, some fans are going to turn on her.
