After seeing a new promo, many fans are wondering if Derek and Addison really kiss in next week's crossover event, in which the worlds of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice collide for the first time since 2007's "backdoor pilot" that spawned the spinoff?
Well, worried Grey's Anatomy fans can officially step away from the ledge, as E! Online cites a source saying Addison and Derek DO NOT kiss despite the misleading promo below.
The alleged kiss is about 18 seconds in. Stupid Shonda and her mind games.
Despite appearances, the source says of Addison and Derek: "No, there's no kiss. They are still just friends. There is no romance between them in the crossover episode."
Instead, the romance comes from Derek plotting his proposal to Meredith, and Lexie and Mark going public ... and possible flirtations betwen Callie and Arizona.

What a relief! I have to admit, I was really worried after seeing that promo! I trusted Derek not to kiss her, but it looked so real. So, then I was thinking what kind of explanation would Derek have for that? How could any of us forgive him for doing something so stupid! How could he love meredith and kiss ADDISON! See what I have been going through here! So, thankfully ABC realized that Mer/Der fans don't take that kind of stuff too lightly, don't play around with us like that! Nobody plays around with Mer/Der! Right? We have finally got this couple in a good place and we are ready to move them forward to a unforgettable proposal and wedding hopefully in the near future! So, now I can rest better at night knowing everything is well on the Mer/Der front! (ha)!

I find it hilarious that so many teenage girls were getting their panties in a twist over a promo. Good on Shonda for messing with their minds.

its not "stupid shonda" she doesn't make these promos... she doesn't even direct this filming, she just writes the stories, so abc made that promo of that kiss, not shonda.

I still think it looks like Addie kisses Der-- but when I first saw it I just figured it was like a "wow-- you are saving my brother and I love you for it" not like a romantic kiss. Let's face it, Mer is the ONLY one for Der. But Der spent like 10 years with Addie-- he does love her. But not the passionate romantic love like for Mer.

I agree with you Lara it's so hilarious how people were pissed of this promo, you don't even see if they kissed or not but poor 14 years old girls start to cry what my MerDer! who cares? I guess everybody knows that they will be together so what? little bit drama, they are boring. I started to like Meredith again, she was great in last 2 episodes but people, this is just TV SHOW:) grow up

TV show or not, I was stil crying like a baby.
God i was soooooooooo angry. and I`m not 14 years old girl but he is so close to propose and then you see the promo and you don`t know what to think and I really liked merder this season.

Derek loves Mer, so ofc he won't kiss Addison. I can't believe anyone thought that they actually would kiss. Mer is the love of his life and he's too much of a nice guy to do that to her.

He is not kissing Addison. It clearly is Meredith in the promo. Addison now has short dark red hair.
