Below is a sneak preview of next Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy, "Beat Your Heart Out."

As we posted just a few minutes ago, there's no need to worry about Derek and Addison. Looks like that's just your typical Shonda Rhimes preview deception ... remember Derek dying and/or Rose being pregnant in the promo for the Season Five premiere?

Exactly. In Thursday's crossover event with Private Practice, Derek clearly has eyes only for Meredith. He's also got a ring, and as the clip below shows, he's wondering how to offer it:

Follow the jump for a second sneak preview of next week's action, this time from the Private Practice side of things. Addison learns from Naomi that her brother, Archer, has cancer, which presumably will lead them to request Derek's services at Seattle Grace ...

After seeing a new promo, many fans are wondering if Derek and Addison really kiss in next week's crossover event, in which the worlds of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice collide for the first time since 2007's "backdoor pilot" that spawned the spinoff?

Well, worried Grey's Anatomy fans can officially step away from the ledge, as E! Online cites a source saying Addison and Derek DO NOT kiss despite the misleading promo below.

The alleged kiss is about 18 seconds in. Stupid Shonda and her mind games.

Despite appearances, the source says of Addison and Derek: "No, there's no kiss. They are still just friends. There is no romance between them in the crossover episode."

Instead, the romance comes from Derek plotting his proposal to Meredith, and Lexie and Mark going public ... and possible flirtations betwen Callie and Arizona.

Next week, Grey's Anatomy returns with "Beat Your Heart Out," an all-new episode in which the worlds of Grey's and its spinoff, Private Practice, will intertwine.

Tonight, unfortunately, it's repeat time (Private Practice will be new, however).

Q: What is the cast of Private Practice going to do over at Grey's Anatomy?

A: Filling Meredith's pretty little head with shocking stories about Derek's early days ** * **********. And believe me, that's not a good thing. Funny? Yes. Good? No.

Can you fill in the blanks? In a fraternity, perhaps?

On a similar note, Matt Mitovich of TV Guide also says Derek's past will be touched upon in these episodes, as Addison, her brother Archer, and perhaps even Sam and Naomi (from their medical school days) share a history with McDreamy as well.

A little Grey's Anatomy spoiler / news update from E! Online this morning, detailing the future of the oft-discussed T.R. Knight (George O'Malley) ...

Q: What's the latest on T.R. Knight leaving Grey's Anatomy?

A: A Grey's Anatomy insider claims that the end of the season and next season have not yet been decided. When asked if he thinks T.R. Knight will be back for Season Six (beginning next fall), ABC President Steve McPherson says, "At this point, yeah, I have no reason not to." As for what's going on behind the scenes, he says, "I just wish everyone would do their jobs and do the show."

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, a big basketball fan, and husband Chris Ivery rocked matching aviator shades as they headed over to the Staples Center to watch their hometown Los Angeles Lakers take on the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday in downtown L.A.

The 39-year-old Grey’s Anatomy leading lady and her music producer hubby of a little over a year can’t seem to get enough of the Lakers - although both are Massachusetts natives and actually fans of the rival Boston Celtics, who topped L.A. in last year's finals.

They live in Los Angeles now, though, so it's the next best thing. Courtside tickets are always nice. Here's a nice photo of the happy couple en route to the game ...

Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight and his boyfriend, Mark Cornelsen, sure do look like they’re enjoying themselves at the so-called Happiest Place On Earth!

T.R., 35, and Mark, 19, got in some quality alone time together at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., on Sunday. The couple rode on many of the famed roller coasters and amusement park rides including the “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad” below ...

The pair spent the weekend at the Disneyland Resort celebrating a friend’s birthday in style. T.R. Knight and Mark Cornelsen have been together for about a year now.

Taking a break from filming the show we all know and love, Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey pursued his #1 off-screen passion - auto racing! The actor took part in the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway Saturday in Daytona Beach, Fla.

He came in at No. 35 - but he's 34 spots better in our minds!
