Source: T.R. Knight Wants Out of Grey's Anatomy Contract
Despite the initial denials issued by the show amid the latest rumors of on-set upheaval, the revolving door that is the Grey's Anatomy cast has taken another sudden and surprising spin, reports the reliable Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly.
In a shocking development, sources are now confirming that T.R. Knight (George O'Malley) has asked to be released from his contract, a request that both ABC and Grey's Anatomy creator / executive producer Shonda Rhimes appear poised to grant.
"They're working out the details now," whispers an ABC insider.
There's no word on when T.R. Knight would make his final appearance, but, contrary to a report on the gossip blog crazydaysandnights.com, he has not walked off the set of the show: "He's still working," maintains EW's Grey's Anatomy mole.
Rumors of Knight's unhappiness with Grey's Anatomy date back to Isaiah-gate. The actor was reportedly upset that despite Patrick Dempsey and Katherine Heigl rallying to his defense, it took Rhimes so long to publicly condemn Washington's now-infamous use of the F-word.
The incident led T.R. Knight to come out as a gay man.
Rhimes eventually released a statement denouncing Washington's behavior, but word is, it was too little, too late. Nonetheless, a Grey's Anatomy source insists Knight does not want out of his contract for that reason, adding, "He just feels it's time to move on."
A spokesperson for T.R. Knight declined to comment.
T.R. Knight's probable exit comes at a time when his character, George, has been given little to do of late, save for express concern over Izzie's mental state.

I don't think he's a Diva either. His spirit is just broken like Agnes! People these days, go to the ugly place quickly and don't think about human decency first. I think he should stay and I think Shonda should make him want to! She dropped the ball...you don't treat people like that. IW did you hear that!!! Do unto others people....Hollywood these days is like the Bush Administration...a lot of talk and little action.

LOL Burkeback, IW is that you? You sound so soapish, I started laughing hysterically. You should go for stand up comic.
TR si amazing, IW is a jerk, everyone knows it.

Burkebacknow: You sound so ridiculous. First off, T.R. is a very talented actor. Everyone I've talked to agrees with me. Second, they will never bring Burke back because he was FIRED. T.R. isn't leaving because of the IW thing. In fact, he put that behind him, unlike Isaiah Washington in case you don't watch E! News. Another thing, Isaiah is a prick. T.R. isn't. IW is an alright actor, but his character bored me. He was never as real as George. I like characters that are as close to real as they can get and George is that. So, you can call him all these untrue, stupid things, or you can just shut up already. Nobody wants to hear your shtick.

At last ! the weakest link can go. TRK is nothing but a backstabbing malevolent. Good riddance to a no-talent bore.
After what he did to the show and IW, hope his career fails miserably and he is seen for the unforgiving revengeful vindictive person he really is and pays with undying ignominy for what he did to IW's career and the Greys show and IW fans.
If it was unhappiness with IW then he would have left right there and then when IW wasn't yet fired. If it was such a matter of principle why wait till he messed it all up and
washed dirty linen on ED show with scant regard for Grey's or its fans.
Wonder how noone ever saw through this cruel guy.....no !! his ineffectual acting was never good. Wish he had left instead of IW back then. Good riddance, the show will be healthier and cleaner with him gone. Looks harmless but he goes for blood of a man down and out and can watch him ruined.

George paid enough for Callie. I am sick and tired of George being the only one that pays on this show when despite his mistake, he is by far the nicest most decent person on the show.
I want my George back, and if they let him go, I'll never watch again.

I was through with George after he cheated on Callie and broke her heart. But he is part of the original cast and it wouldn't be the same without him. Somehow, I still hoped Callie would get a chance to exact her revenge on him and make him feel as bad as he made her feel. Izzie, on the other hand, jumped the shark when she rescucitated a frikkin' deer last season.

No Isaiah was a huge erason why he got fired. remember TR didn't even bring up the fight at all for months and IW is the one who got it out in the public when he lied at the Golden Globes about it. He got fired because of the GG incident and humiliating the show, not because of the initial incident, and ABC said this was the result of a LONG history of bad behavior on his part that started way before the TR incident.
He later proceeded to badmouth half the cast, insulting Patrick for needing Ellen to help him read his lines, saying he the great IW did not need anyone to help him work (thing is Patrick is dyslexic, hence needing Ellen). He also called the show racist many times including last month after Brooke's firing.
There is a reason why nobody has hired him after this. He has years of bad reputation behind him and from what I heard, his colleagues were more than happy to see him leave, especially the women.
I don't miss him and his big mouth at all. George I will miss though. He is so sweet and cute and amazing.

burke was TOTALLY boring! i'm gonna miss George, he was so funny and sweet :( i met t.r. once in la a few months back. he was so nice and sweet and actually stook around to talk for a bit. that was the most amazin day of my life, now he's leaving :'(
another thing: season 4 was ok, and so was season 3 but the first couple season were the best cos we had addy around and there was still some merder. y is there no merder?

drcookchick- Actually TR was a huge reason why Issaia Washingto got fired...and I wish it was TR instead...I totally agree with anonymous...George leaving will not be much of a loss.
BTW...Burke was one of the best characters..that is why season 4 was not as good. The show was missing a little maturity.
