As we've talked about a couple of times, a multi-episode crossover between Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice is planned for February, and Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh is talking to People about who’s coming and who’s going.
“Crossover crazy!” Oh said of executive producer Shonda Rhimes’ plans to cross-pollinate the casts of her medical drama and its sophomore spin-off early in 2009.
Kate Walsh’s Dr. Addison Montgomery - who split from Seattle Grace to launch the spin-off and made one return trip last spring - is expected back in her old OR.
Interestingly, Oh revealed that Patrick Dempsey’s Dr. Derek Shepherd (a.k.a. McDreamy) will likely be making the trek to California's Oceanside Wellness Center.
“It has to do with Addison,” she said. “I think the Chief is going to visit, too,” she added, perhaps suggesting some unfinished business between Addison and Seattle Grace’s head of staff, Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr.).
Oh also has a suggestion for the writers in case they want to send her character to Ocean Wellness Center to hook up with a handsome doctor.
“Paul [Adelstein]’s character,” she says. “Cristina Yang would have scenes with Cooper. They’d just wrestle the whole time!”
But back at Seattle Grace, Cristina already has a budding relationship with ex-military doctor Owen Hunt, played by Kevin McKidd.
The pair shared a steamy kiss early on in the Season Five premiere, but Oh likes that the two of them haven’t become an instant McCouple.
“It’s a nice, slow romance,” she says.
“A lot of time people on Grey’s Anatomy get together quickly, but that’s not the case here. It’s nice to be able to see a relationship develop and grow.”
Sandra Oh mostly refrained from commenting on some of Grey’s Anatomy's occasionally polarizing plot lines, most recently the strange and intriguing romance between Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and deceased Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
“I’m very happy with my story lines and I work hard on them, and the other things you just can’t control,” the acclaimed actress says.
“If someone is going to hate my character or Cristina’s romance with Owen, that’s up to them. I know that myself and Kevin McKidd work really, really hard and putting in some rich work, and so that’s all I concentrate on."

So excited - would love to see Derek in L.A.!!! Can't wait for this crossover - Addison in Seattle is always entertaining! What do people think - why would the Chief be going to LA?
Love Sandra Oh! By the way, why is Grey's off for so many weeks coming up? The schedule says ABC is just replaying other episodes. Hmm.

Sandra is great! Like how she is happy with her storyline (so am I).. And now Kristin is saying that we're not guessing correctly about the 'missing character' on Greys.. I am thinking that it either must be the Chief or Derek (who now apparently are supposed to visit Addison)..

Yeahhh!!! Sandra Oh is so so so funny and cute!!! I can't wait to see the evolution of her romance with Kevin McKidd, there is so much chemistry between them!!!

Um...what would Derek be doing in LA anyway? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the crossover and all but why Derek. I much rather see Mark, he'd be funnier along Pete and Cooper. That makes me laugh just to think about it.
I remember reading that it might be because of Addie's brother, another neurologist, but...I don't know. Derek going isn't for me the best idea.

I would rejoice and thank the gods if Sandra Oh shows Cristina´s face in California!!! Imagine her look when she meets Pete? She would just stare at him and say "Seriously" or "You´ve GOT to be kidding me!".

Sandra Oh is sooo AWSOME!!!! I can't wait to see what happens with her and Kevin McKidd or I should say Cristina and Owen! Its going to be HOT!! I know I was a huge Burke fan but I am so excited to see Cristina with someone like Owen hes so cute with her and hes awkward with her but in a good way like when u like someone how u can't talk to them hes like that so cute!
