Why is one fan-favorite character on Grey's Anatomy suddenly MIA?

It's a question many of you have discussed, and an insider report on E! Online today may shed some light on it. Warning: This does not paint a pretty picture.

The article does not name names, because the truth hurts, but forming an educated guess as to who's being talked about isn't that difficult:

A source close to the show says: "The reason [he/she] has not been on is because [he/she] has been a pain in the ass lately, trying to change scenes and dialogue, being hard to work with and putting up an attitude. The higher-ups were getting tired of it, so they tweaked [him/her] out of some episodes. That's why you haven't really seen [him/her] lately."

A second Grey's Anatomy source seconds that information, adding: "[He/she] is not really getting along too well with producers right now."

To play devil's advocate, Grey's Anatomy characters have seen fluctuating amounts of screen time throughout seasons, so maybe this character will stage a resurgence. But it's not looking like he or she is in the producers' good graces at the moment.

A: Even though Erica (Brooke Smith) didn't think Callie was much of a lesbian, she's still exploring her sexuality, despite mourning the loss of Dr. Hahn, and in this week's episode she suspects Sadie (Melissa George) might be into her. Still, a source reports that although there is what seems like an initial flirtation, it doesn't go anywhere. Plus, Mark and Little Grey continue circling each other. Is that kind of cute or kind of gross. What do you think?

Looking fresh-faced and pretty as ever, Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl (Izzie Stevens) picked up her bags at the Los Angeles International Airport Sunday ...

It looks like Grey's Anatomy's Major Doctor Hottie (Kevin McKidd) may have a reason to take a break from Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Seattle Grace, E! Online reports:

A Rome film! Yup, the show's newest star is a hot commodity these days.

His character, Lucius Vorenus, might be back in the saddle for Rome if plans for a movie version go forward, which is looking likely, according to numerous reports.

Introduced in Season Five, Kevin McKidd has been a huge hit on Grey's Anatomy so far, so with any luck, a Rome flick could be worked around his Grey's schedule.

We're all wondering it, and E! Online has put together a list of theories and possible (using the term loosely, of course) explanations for Season Five's most intriguing plot line: Izzie's "visions" (and more) of Denny Duquette, her fiance who bought the farm in Season Two.

Theory #1: Izzie Has a Brain Tumor

Evidence: Symptoms of a brain tumor include: inability to concentrate (check), gradual changes in intellectual or emotional capacity (check), lethargy (check), changes in behavior or personality (check), and/or hallucinations (check).

Verdict: Debunked... or so we think. Shonda Rhimes told TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, "I think the love triangle with Denny, Izzie and Alex is among the most interesting we've ever done. Watching the chemistry between Jeffrey and Katherine again has been really touching. I can't wait for our viewers to see where we're taking it. But what it won't involve is Izzie having a brain tumor." Okay ... unless Shonda is just trying to throw us all off.
