I agree with Carrie and Claire. This is so wrong. They dropped Callica for this? Seriously?!
Btw, every time an actor/actress is dropped from a show and it starts contoversy, someone will come up and say it was because they didn't get along with the rest of the cast.
And magazines like to sell, so they do their best to keep stories going. Interesting how we never heard anything about Brooke not getting along with the rest of the cast until just recently, once her dismissal stopped being a hot topic, and that can be traced back to one article in one magazine.
They didn't fire Brooke Smith because she failed to get along with the cast. She got along rather well with them. Here's proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQIyFo8MRzM

Aren't there just... TOO MANY guest stars for a single season? I'm getting kinda mind-blown. It's like the writers have run out of character-character interactions, so they have to resort to newly created ones to increase the drama.
they broke up callica cuz it seemed that the general audience didnt like the two of them together, but did still like callie. so they decided to drop erica. that way they could give callie another love interest, or multiple.
anyways, i'm all for girl-on-girl action, but it has to make sense. not just 'make callie make out with / fall for as many girls as possible.
well, i guess all we can do is wait to see how this unfolds.
Here's the thing. I'm fine with the Callie as bisexual/lesbian thing. I think her relationship with Erica was very well portrayed (in the beginning) especially building the friendship first. And then about three episodes into season 5, I think they threw it to hell. First off was Callie running to Erica going "I slept with Sloan, I might never see leaves". Creepy and how many people admit they might have cheated on each other? Then the absolute ridiculous fight between them over Izzie and Hahn just absolutely disappearing. Unrealistic to the extreme. Now all of a sudden, after weeks of agonizing over her sexuality, she starts drooling the minute an intern smiles at her? Seriously people? Callie is not a, well I guess we'd say "persson" hopper now. Her relationship with George was built up slowly, same with Erica and Mark and her's relationship has been a long process. Callie never just jumped around from person to person (unlike some characters I could name, but won't). I'm fine with her being with girls, but I'm not fine with her suddenly being a giant flirt going after any pretty blonde that winks at her. It's ridiculous and completely out of character.

Seriously callie liking sadie ewwwww. I most certainly miss hahn now.
Sadies storyline is pointless why is she even in the show.
Mark and lexie hooking up and cristina and hunt thats was hot.

So let me get this straight! They got rid of Erica just so that Callie would have a parade of loveinterests coming in and out of her life? That's not Callie! Be it with a guy or a girl, she is a one relationship kind of girl, so why don't TPTB just make up their mind as to finding a good loveinterest for her and stick with it! Come on!!! This stinks of bad writing! And don't get me started on Mark/Lexie disaster or as I call it perpetual gagfest! TAlk about a midlifecrisis!!! A good looking, powerful, rich and influential doctor and a lowly, young, innocent, unepirienced doeeyed intern! Talk about overused cliché! And then we have dumb and ignorant Alex, phisicaly sick and obviously mentaly confused Izzie and a haunting, egoistic dead fiancé, what can one say about that one? Grey's Anatomy is turning into a soap of the cheapest and sleasiest kind!
What is it with the writers/producers these days? Firing Brooke Smith, yet bringing in two new characters to be with Callie? What happened to Mark? What's up with Izzie seeing dead people? [

megan,
do you really believe everything that is written in a magazine? seriously, you should be more thoughtful about media-news. i've worked as a journalist for many years (not for a local newspaper) and believe me a lot of false informations and lies are published to hoax the audience.
by the way, brooke has been a guest star before she became a regular, don't think a producer would be so stupid to establish a guest character as a regular character if the actor doesn't fit with the rest of the cast. that would be a waste of money.
back to the topic: if this is true, i'm pissed! first firing brooke, because "of the lack of chemistry" (which is bull**** there was plenty of chemistry and great acting, actually the whole firing-thing really stinks) and now they try to repair the damage by giving callie love interests who fit the role-model-picture of a stereotypical american woman ... OMG ... this whole show pisses me really off with all the crap storylines (i.e. dead denny). if this way continues i'm done with greys!
P.s.: i'm sorry for brooke, she is a great actress and i'm sorry for the gay audience. i believe in diversity!
Righto, so I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the Callie and Arizona 'thing' works out. What's to say that she is now explicitly a lesbian, who knows maybe she is still trying to figure it out or has decided she might be bisexual. Who cares really!!!
Yes, I'm still totally bummed and upset that Erica has gone and I agree with everyone that the producers have bought in these 'stunning' blonde tiny ladies instead of seeing two curvy, normal women stay together. I miss Hahn and Callie together heaps.
I know I'm contradicting myself but it will be interesting to see what happens with Callie and I LOVE Sara Ramirez she is an amazing actress. I agree as well that I DO NOT believe that Brooke Smith was fired because she didn't get along with the cast what a load of shit. It's evident she did and that her and Sara were good friends on and off the screen too.
Pity we have to wait until the new year though!!

Although it was rather abrupt, no goodbye or explanation whatsoever. Plus Izzie was just starting to move on with Alex and he is becoming more and more human.
Last week's episode out of the 3 things that came out I only liked 1 which is Christina kissing Owen! FINALLY!! Owen had some issues expressing his liking towards Christina and he finally had his chance by saying it by his actions.
Mark & Lexie: hmm...not too sure about that...its not a love affair to be excited about. It sure does look like Lolita-ish to me.

I'm a lesbian too. But I don't mind Callie with Sloan. After she got her nose broke, she ask him if he would have sex with her, every now and then. I thought that was cute. As Brooke said on one of her interviews who wouldn't wanna kiss Callie. She is one hell of a woman. Beautiful, smart, sexy, sexual and she has a great voice. But I kinda don't like her with Sadie. It is like...If your parents divorce, you don't want to see them with anyone but your parent. It takes along time to get over that feeling. LOL!!! I know I'm nuts!!! LOL!!!
The whole Callie being vaulted into a lesbian character is like a bad story line from ER. Stop having Callie jump from male to female, confusion to total clarity, lacking in self confidence to total hot-to-trot lesbian...it makes no sense and is not at all appealing to watch.
I love the show but the story lines are getting way out in left field and leaving potentially good story lines completely undeveloped. Bring Burke back, get rid of these ridiculous little interns who are completely uninteresting, leave Denny dead, heat up Mer/Der and poor, poor Callie...let the girl continue developing into the strong character she was becoming and stop all of the uninteresting hopping around, totally ridiculous, unbelievable story lines with the girl. Come on writers, get back in the game!
I absolutely hate the idea of Sadie and Callie together. I mean, hello there? Can't believe that the writers axed Brooke Smith for THIS.
