If the rumors about Sara Ramirez are true, perhaps she decided to leave as a result of these recent developments? I know she's said in interviews before (like when she was on the View) that she thought it would be a good move for Grey's to start expanding its horizons and make efforts to change its rather homophobic image post-Isaiah. It would be sad to see her go, but I think she belongs on Broadway where the full range of her talents can be showcased. Though I'll never get tired of seeing her dance in her underwear.

McSmarty: You're most certainly welcome. I admire your strength in your decision making... I'm still stuck between watching because it is Brooke's last episode and not watching because I am so outraged! I'll be making my decision within the next two days.

I'm sad to have to quite watching Grey's as well... but I will never be able to look at any of it the same after this. I'm also going to quit watching Private Practice because I'm refusing to watch ABC anymore. It's disgraceful and I wish Brooke was less classy so she could rip them apart in some interview and then land an awesome show somewhere that respects her as a person and an actress!

I hope Hahn is gone...her character is SO unpleasant. I did not find her attractive in any way---mainly because her personality was always so negative. This is supposed to be such a great teaching hospital, yet all she does is belittle ANYONE who happens to be near her in the OR. One of the best parts of last week's episode was Bailey letting Hahn have it. I also have nothing against the lesbian story line but I believe most people are interested in the relationship--the love and emotions that have brought these 2 people together--yet every scene with Callie and Hahn revolved around their sexual dysfunction. It really was not appealing to me, and I think to most viewers. It was way too much information. I think the way that story played out really emphasized what to me is one of the biggest drawbacks to the writing on GA: it is very abusive to women. Look at Grey's mother--the very accomplished surgeon has a non-existent personal life. Grey--plagued by self-doubt and self-loathing that all goes back to her mother. Izzie--cannot form a lasting relationship of merit--her true love dies and her second true love has to cheat on his wife and treat HER like dirt. Even Callie has to act like a moron when her NEW love (Hahn) opens up to her and becomes emotional after they are physically intimate. DOn't even get me started on Yang. And by the way, they have totally castrated McDreamy, he is acting like a whiny bitch ever since he figured out that he still loves Mer. His remarks and comments to Mer and about Mer are very degrading. Also, since when did he become so obtuse that he couldn't understand why she would be upset over not getting credited for their clinical trial???? He's been acting like a spoiled child and is SO unattractive. If it weren't for the hair I'd have given up on him long ago.

Everyone complain about ABC firing Brooke Smith and canceling the Callica storyline please!! Maybe if enough people complain they will do something about this. we can at least let them know how stupid they were to do that!

I still can´t believe this! I really love Callica and Brooke Smith. They make Greys so much better. Their relationship is interesting, I´m so disapointed and angry... I´ve been tired of MerDer before and I´ve been so happy that there´s something new. I love Dr. Hahn ♥
I'm not going to complain to ABC. In fact, i thanked them. Not that i don't find it sad that Brooke and Sara were let go... because that is sad. I loved Callie. But, Callica was a disaster. It was going down the crapper already. Brooke was fired in September, so... she was never going to stay for this season. Her character was boring. I liked Callica to start with but, then it just got silly. Callie isn't gay. She was just curious, because she liked Hahn as a person. But, Callie always went back to Mark. Erica is definitely gay. So this really wasn't going to work from the beginning.
With Callica out of the way, MerDer should get more screen time. All the relationships on GA were put on the back burner because they were putting Callica as the front runner. They were clogging up the episodes, so the real relationships... that have always been dominant on the show (MerDer, Izzie/Alex) were made into book ends.
This also, give the opening for a Sadie/Mark romance.
I can't wait to see how Erica decides to leave. She will probably, get really pissed that The Chief didn't fire Izzie, for her essentially stealing the heart for Denny. Erica will be so fixed on this, and ultimately... will choose to leave. She will kill the relationship between her and Callie...because obviously it wasn't going anywhere. Callie doesn't want Erica.
So yeah. This episode should be really good though.
If no Callica = More MerDer .... I'm all for it!

Isn't it funny that this revelation of Brooke being let go from the show, comes right as Proposition 8 is being voted on. ABC have shown where they stand on it. If she was let go two months ago, why now, right before people get to vote to keep gay marriage in California (Or get rid of it, which would be disgusting) do ABC go and fire the openly gay character? I think it will backfire and hopefully draw out all the people who weren't going to vote, who are now angry that this character was axed to please the homophobes, no matter what spin ABC put on it. Go out and vote no on Prop 8, and show the networks that its ok to have gay couples on TV. This is the 21st century, not the middle ages.
I live in a different country but like (the majority) of people I'm soooooooooooooooooo shocked that ABC America have done this. There are no marriage rights in my country for gay people and it's so sad as JJ says '21st Century'.

They just had her walk to her car at the end of the episode and she's never seen again. The lack of time to properly plan for her departure and the fact that Shonda doesn't appear to have been allowed to address it properly points to something fishy going on at ABC.

I don't believe the superficial anti-gay people are the majority but they spam polls the hardest and whine the loudest and they scare ABC. They convinced ABC the ratings were down because of them like the GI haters convinced ABC before GI was bringing the ratings down even though they were better with them together.
The people who got Callica fired are the same ones who got GI to end and TR to have no story or romance on the show.
All they want is hot couples, read boring cliched ones, like MerDer and AI and anything fresh or different is rejected by them.
The GI fans warned you this would happen. That if GI was dropped due to the haters, any different stories after was in danger.
That is why I quit the show.
I also know Gexie will never happen. The people out there who don't think George deserves a hot girl will never accept it and Lexie will be aired off with the hot guy.
Tr will either be fired or continually backburnered.

I am very upset about Erica being fired. That was the best relationship that they have had yet. I read on another site that Erica will get into her car and that will be the last we see of her. Soooo I think that she will probably have a car wreck and be brought back to the hospital where she will die on the operating table. Callie will probably get to go see her, to tell her good-bye. She will probably tell her she loved her and kiss her cold dead lips. If Grey's gets rid of Callie too you can kiss my ass good-bye.
