In today's edition of "Guess who's leaving Grey's Anatomy now," Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly reports that Janina Gavankar has departed the show.
Did you even know she was on it?
The L Word alum, who joined the Grey's Anatomy cast in September as one of several new Seattle Grace interns, has left the show after just two episodes.
Per one insider, the role turned out to be smaller than Gavankar had hoped. Without a guarantee that her part would grow, the actress chose to move on.
In more significant cast news, rumors - just rumors, we emphasize - continue to circulate about Sara Ramirez and whether Callie's days at Seattle Grace are numbered.

It's understandable that Ms Gavankar would want to move on. It's a sound business decision, that if I had been in her shoes,I would have taken also. Anyone coming in as an intern must relize they will never be out front in the limelight. The show is not about the interns. The only reason Lexie is out front is because she is Mer's sister. An that's fine.
People being added to a part in this show need to be told up front that the show is wrapped around the foundation of Cristina,and Mer/Der. McKidd fits PERFECTLY for Cristina and he now is moving in as part of the BROKEN foundation. (since Burke left). As a Greys fan since day one, I'm loving how the foundation is looking these days. I couldn't be happier!!!

yeah I dont really care. AT ALL. personally, the show focuses way to much on lexie and her "gang" lately. the new interns are not the reason we started watching the show. more good old grey's, thank you!

Well hold on a minute... You're right - there is a focus on Lexi and the new interns, and they're NOT the reason we all started watching Grey's -- BUT with the potential for (and gossip over) major characters leaving - there needs to be some room for character growth -- never know which one of or when one of those interns could be a hot new love interest... Wouldn't be the first intern/attending love affair, now would it?? :o)

yeah, sure, but we wouldn't need the new characters, the too much focus on the interns, if they didn't shoot out the major characters. seriously? why get rid of callie, for example, and have new characters like sadie? i just don't get it.. they're committing a slow suicide

I really enjoy Grey's Anatomy, I watch it every week, why did Brook Smith (Erica Hahn) leave
Grey's Anatomy, and if Sara Ramirez leaves the show, Grey's Anatomy won't be the same.
It would be great to see a come back of Erica Hahn, makes the show much more interesting and intriguing.
