Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has some interesting Grey's Anatomy spoilers in his Q&A today, and even a direct quote from Shonda Rhimes about the Izzie-Denny story line.
Read on and follow the jump for the latest on what's to come ...
Q: What the hell is going on with Grey's Anatomy's Denny and Izzie?
A: Don't be so quick to judge, people. Who among us hasn't gone to first base with a dead ex at least once in our lives? Exactly.
Q: Okay, I'm officially worried that Izzie really does have a brain tumor and Shonda Rhimes is paving the way for Katherine Heigl's departure at the end of the season.
A: Hold on ... I've got Shonda Rhimes on the line ... She says she heard through the grapevine that I've been flooded with hundreds of e-mails from mostly irate and confused Grey's Anatomy fans wondering WTF is going on with this bizarre love story between a dead Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and an alive Izzie ... The show's creator and executive producer says she'd like to address readers directly via this exclusive statement ...
"I think that the love triangle with Denny, Izzie, and Alex is among the most interesting we've ever done. Watching the chemistry between Jeffrey and Katherine again has been really touching. I can't wait for our viewers to see where we're taking it. But what it won't involve is Izzie having a brain tumor."
Alright, so the brain tumor theory is out the window. What does that leave in the way of logical explanations?
Q: What's next for Callie (Sara Ramirez) on Grey's Anatomy now that Hahn's gone?
A: The official ABC logline for the December 4 episode, "All My Myself," includes this little morsel: "Callie can't figure out if Sadie is just friendly or flirtatious." Translation: Sadie is next for Callie.

I'm so confused. How can this be happening if she doesn't have a brain tumore. I'm glad that she doesn't, but it just doesn't make any sense. Oh well, I guess it's time to trust Shonda and wait and see where she leads us...

uh, ok...
they fired brooke allegedly for the gay thing and now they are possibly hooking callie up with sadie????
if people thought hahn and callie were awkward, this new sadie idiot will be way worse. (i like the actress, hate her character!! LOL)

How about Callie and Mark? No Callie and Sadie. That is just wrong.

Hmm... im kind of happy she doesnt have a tumor... cuz she wont die...(though it would have involved great acting...!) but now im all confused... right now the only explanation is that she IS dreaming...!... its weird... i hope Alex and Izzie dont break up!!!
waiting 4 thursday!!!!!
and... Callie and McSteamy should get together again!

I think she going to die. They're just not telling us right now because that would ruin the storyline. So what is Izzie going crazy?

Callie and McSteamy are HOT together! No to Callie and Sadie! I don't really enjoy Sadie's character at all. Maybe she will be kicked out of Seattle Grace for the rogue surgery on the other interns.

If you remember in season 2 when we were first introduced to Denny, Alex and Izzie were together. Denny was the one that broke them up, so it has been a triangle all along. He was the one that came between them then and now that she is with Alex again, he is back. That definitely means something. The only other person that Izzie has been with is George. That was something that both of them needed. He needed to move away from Callie, he never really loved her. She needed to forget about Denny and I think George helped her with that. He was her best friend and they got each other through a tough time. They loved each other very much, but the chemistry was not there for it to be romantic. Denny did not come around when Izzie was with George, he is in the middle of Izzie and Alex again. Big time!!! I believe Shonda when she says Izzie does not have a brain tumor. I think she has something else planned and it is going to bring Izzie and Alex together and make Alex really open up and let us know what is going on with him. We haven't even begun to hear Alex's story yet. Alex is the male version of Meredith, dark and twisty!!! I can't wait to watch!!

I don't think that her character being gay was why they fired Brooke Smith.....They said they didn't like where her character was going.....I don't see how they could have kept her character going, with her being so pissed off at the chief about the Denny thing, and her threatening to report the hospital to UNOS

I am totally confused about Izzie now. The brain tumor idea is the only one that made sense to me. I will not accept the mental health issues idea. I guess I'm tired of speculating now. And I do enjoy watching Denny and Izzie, so now I'm resolved to just sitting back and watching it unfold. OK, Shonda, bring it on...
As for Sadie and Callie. She only said that she couldn't figure out if Sadie is friendly or flirtatious. I think this will just be an example of Callie still trying to personally work through and figure out her brief relationship with Hahn and what it means about her sexual orientation. The info. has already be given that Sadie's character's plot got rewritten when Brooke Smith left, so I think what's going to come of it is nothing-- Sadie will really be just being friendly. But it will bring up the issue for Callie to work through more.
That's my take.
I really hope that's how it will go down.

I think it will wind up that it was really Alex with Izzie at the close of the last episode but she saw Denny instead. And because she saw Denny, the viewers saw Denny, too.
