This just sucks for everyone. I feel really bad for Brooke. She really had no notice and it obviously wasn't for anything she did. This really makes me see the network in a different light. I didn't there relationship but to entirely cut all of the gay story lines is very telling of where the network stands. Sure alot of people may have been upset with the "content" of the show and this storyline but does ABC really realize how many people are going to stop watching now because of it? I know that I personally won't but I no longer think highly of the network. Brooke we love you!!!

I do think grey's has been flushed down the toilet this season.
I love grey's but it just has not been that great. Then Erica arrived and i started watching again.

Hi I'm from Chile, I always see this serie on internet, I'm a big fan of Erica, but this is may me feel so sad that I can't believe this, I love so so much Brooke that I hate ABC for do this to you... and the CALLICa relationship was one of my favourite and now is broken for this... is really sad and Disappointing.

This shocked the pants off of me. ABC, for real? They may not have had the chemistry that was expected or needed to sustain their relationship, but it's unbelievably unfair that Brooke Smith be fired from the show for that.
She's easily my favourite actress, and thus she was one of the reasons that I watch the show. I don't know how a lot of other people are going to feel about the fact that she's gone, I know I'll certainly look forward to it much, much less.

I just want to remind everyone that Brooke Smith and Sara Ramirez are ACTRESSES. When Callie and Erica are awkward or whatever on the show, that is due to good ACTING on the part of Brooke and Sara. Let's be honest - the process of accepting oneself as gay is not all smiles. It takes a lot to overcome the questioning, the panic, the fear of the future. Of course there was going to be awkwardness. It's not like each lesbian just wakes up one day and says to herself "I'm gay and it's allllllllll good." That doesn't happen.
So, to all of you who think that there is no chemistry between Callie and Erica, think about this: it's because the characters haven't had the chance to be anything but awkward. These phenomenal actresses are just acting out the scenes the way they are being told to by the writers and producers.
And to those of you who think that Erica Hahn was just a hard ass, emotionless bitch, consider the fact that Brooke was ACTING. If the writers truly wanted her to be a different character, they could have changed her - Erica Hahn is a FICTIONAL character. And rather than just firing Brooke, they should have gone down another road with her character.
But please people, let's not hate on the actresses themselves - Brooke and Sara are both fantastic and deserve a lot of praise for how realistically they portrayed their characters during the emotional rollercoaster that was Callica.

I have been a fan of GA from the beginning. I'm glad the character was written off the show. Dr. Hahn was not soemone you loved to hate. You justed hated her. I wish the actress that portrayed the character well in her future endeavors, but I do not care to witness homosexual acts. I was beginning to lose interest.
Good. This was a terrible storyline. WAY too forced...and it showed. Good for ABC.

YAY! I HATE the lesbian storyline. It was gross and I am glad its over with. Just because one of the cast members is gay does not mean we should all have to be exposed to that lifestyle. Thank you ABC!

I am outraged at this news. Brooke has made Erica Hahn such a wonderful character, and I will be sad to say that my grey's obession has ended because of this. Personally, as a bisexual person myself, I find this downright wrong to the gay community. Finally we got a gay couple (main characters included) in the show, and now they have been torn from us.
I think this is wrong , and I really think something has to be done about it. This is homobphpobic and wrong. I thought we were past this. But I was wrong...

I just think that this is a complete outrage. We live in the 21st Century and gay people do exist. Gay people's storylines should be protrayed on national Television. There have complex storylines just like Straight people. A whole community of people can't be ignored or subjected to this maronic behviour. I live in the UK and gay people can get married and have similar rights to straight people. Love is Love. I was extremely excited that Grey's Anatomy were displaying this relationship, and now I am extremely disapointed and outraged at this network.
As for the networks comment about Callie being a lesbian - she is coming across as bisexual and no doubt she will return to men and everything will be alright. This is unrealistic account of lesbian life.
I truly hope that Grey's Anatomy can have courage and tell interesting real life acounts of people inclusive of the glbt community.
