1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the episode?
McCritic: The way Cristina described speaking to Derek. We love the McDreamy one, but we sometimes love Cristina's brutal honesty even more: "Well there's pain and then there's torture."
missingBurke: A tie between 1. Cristina's dismissive [to Lexie] "Don't think. Know." and 2. Mark's [to Callie] "You want a spanking?" So funny!
iheartizzie: I confess, the softer side of Alex Karev appeals to my inner cheeseball. When he was explaining to the man how his pancreatic cancer was discovered at Stage One, and how his luck has turned around, he nearly brought a tear to my eye.
2. Will George pass his internship test?
iheartizzie: I hope so. The results of our George and Lexie poll are mixed, but I actually think they'd be a great couple. If she helps him earn a second shot at the text and then pass it, romantic fireworks can't be too far off, can they?
McCritic: Yes. As much as I love the Chief, it can't be good for George's career to remain his intern forever.
missingBurke: He has to. As he said, he's not married and cheating on his wife with his best friend this time. You're golden, O'Malley.
3. Should Izzie and Alex move out?
missingBurke: No. Derek might have objections, but I like the residents all living in the same house together. It's perfect for such a coming-of-age drama.
McCritic: Yes. It's only fair to Derek and Meredith. But, please, don't move in together, guys! Sexual tension between roommates is a recipe for disaster.
iheartizzie: Yes, as long as they move in together. Not only would that lead to great comedic exchanges, maybe Alex's parade of skanks would cease and he'd sweep Izzie off her feet! Eh, probably not. But if nothing else he should do it for the baked goods.
4. Mark Sloan: A great TV character, or the greatest TV character?
McCritic: With apologies to George Costanza and Andy Sipowicz, Mark Sloan may be the greatest. Those one-liners, combined with that sly smirk when he delivers them, give Sarah Palin a run for her adorable money.
iheartizzie: He'd have to play a more central role to be the greatest, but Mark is up there. The writers get major props for his transition from Addison's male madam (I don't even know what that means) to wise-cracking, not-entirely-mean-spirited surgeon.
missingBurke: Just a great TV character. Have you met Brian the Dog from Family Guy?!?
5. Should Meredith continue with therapy?
iheartizzie: I'm not going to go all Tom Cruise and say there is no such thing as depression or mental illness, but at some point Mer has to sink or swim on her own. Therapy was great for Meredith but it's a first step, not a crutch.
missingBurke: Definitely. Look what it's done for her already! She stood up to Derek at the end and he was wonderful about it. That is the kind of situation they will come across a million times in their new life together, and there's no going back. I thought the whole therapy angle was sort of overdone last season but there's no question it has helped her grow.
McCritic: Not only should Meredith continue with therapy, she should cease to move forward with any activity that does not include therapy. Can we start a movement to christen her McTherapy?
Meredith Grey is happy. Or at least she's telling herself that.

I have always loved the therapy sessions with Amy Madigan, she's one of my favorite actresses. I do think she should continue therapy. Always great scenes between Mer and Dr.Wyatt.

The results are not that mixed. Only one third is opposed to Gexie. two thirds are open to it. Since they have had no romantic scenes so far, that is pretty good.
And on fanforum they have a big fanbase.
I just want him to be happy and pass and have love. I want him to have it all.
I do miss Gizzie too. I can't help it. They are my OTP and it's hard to let go, but it would be easier if we had some friendship scenes.

I like meredith on therapy
I like the therapist's role and what she brings out of Mer... it's funny, it's revealing.
Izzie and Alex will move out eventualy.... so what's the debate. Keeping them living all together longer will give material for much more funny scenes between all of them, so they shouldn't rush it!
About Izzie and Alex as a couple... I've always liked them!
Izzie can manage Alex jerckness she's been through so much more than that! and she also gets him. And Alex falls for Izzie no matter how hard he plays to be.
Lexie and George is kind of obvious but it's cool... still I also think they shouldn't rush it. George should pass his exam and regain his confidence, while Lexie should keep revealing herself to everybody... she is cute!
Lexie and Sloan? they should have sex and I can see him falling for her and not her for him and that could be a good twist for him... tring to totally win her ... and on the other hand it's kind of cool that the friends end up with the grey sisters... that happens a lot

I don,t want everyone to have sex. Lexie loves George so she shouldn't sleep with inappropriate men like her sister. He is way older than her and he looks like her dad to me.
I want her and George to make it.
Although I'll be honest if Izzie and George get a chance, I won't care if Mark and Lexie hook up however gross they are.
Izzie shouldn't have to handle Alex being a jerk. It has been 5 seasons already and I am sorry, this has abuse written all over it.
She had an amazing love with George and they were so much hotter IMO.
As for polls, they mean nothing. All of them can be spammed. Do you realize I was at the library and was able to vote thre on 6 different computers?
Not that reliable to base people's feelings on that.

I freaking love Dr. Wyatt. I think that it would be awesome if all of them visited her in one show. Like they tell a story for the perspectives of all the cast in their therapy sessions. That would completely rock! I think that she should be a regular!

George will pass his test! There's no way Shonda will do that to him... I mean, he always has been kind of insecure, but he's smart and hard working... why should someone leave him as an intern forever? (It's not good for his storyline.) Anyway, it's time to move on, to grow up, to be a better doctor! and he was into a lot last season... oow, I really like him and I want the best for him!!
As for Meredith, I have to admit that she wasn't one of my favorite character! But this episode it seems that she had changed, become stronger, trying to be all whole and healed aside her psychologicals problems (her mother, her previous problem with a serious relationship and then with Derek's lie..) Anyway, I'm starting to like her... she took her decision and stand up! Really good...
And oooow, Alex was so so sooo cute in this episode! I know he's a jerk, he's abusive, he's totally an a-hole! but come on! can't a boy turn into a man?? We just have to wait for his transformation...! And who knows if he can't do any good for Izzie?!
And Callica... They are trying to make it work... goooood!
As for Lexie, I don't know... she has to grow up a little! How come she gave up a really good experience (that will help her in her career) just to help George with that?!! Come on... she's not gonna make him like her more with this... (I know it was cute, but being realistic...) Maybe she just gotta experience new things (with Mark??) right now!
And yeeeesss!!! I just loved this episode!!! YAY!

this episode was awesome! I love the way the theme matched the title...like it was such a obvious "flood" in the hospital as well as a flood of emotions, thoughts, and revelations. Somehow tied in very well with the characters and their lives.
I for one thing think the polls on George and Lexie are mixed. it is cute to see it is kind of a 3 way tie!
I myself think that George should be happy and fall in love again, and stick with it!
I have always been a huge supporter of George...therefore i definitely want him to pass him intern exam..(he earned it)n Lexie is so cute tryin her best to help him out!! *awwww...* I love the part when george was down in the cafeteria and lexie fed him food! *another awww...* They would make the perfect couple for now...!! But of course, if there is hope for Gizzie, i'm all for it! i nvr knew i would accept anyone other that Izzie to be with George. but lexie would be a cute match up!! plus she loves him! :) can't wait to see wat happens.

I loved the episode! The sparks between Mark and Lexie... Awesome :D I think that Mer should continue therapy because she's still the same old suicidal Mer. Alex and Izzie... Alex really loves Izzie. He's a good guy, but he needs to control his actions.

Does anyone else find it weird that no one else had heard of the ENT diagnosis that Lexie read about, even though she said that it was from an article in a journal from 1964? Especially that it was Christina who asked her, someone who prides herself in being the best! (yes, even though it was not in the Cardio field, I still think that it was weird she had "never even heard of that condition before")
But I loved the episode. And I think that Dr Wyatt should stay! Meredith doesn't quit on her shrink.
Oh and Mark Sloan is one of the greatest!

Loved the episode - Greys is back. I too love the character of Dr Wyatt and think she adds a great dimension to the cast. She hit it on the nail with Cristina and as much as I feel for Cristina it's kind of sad that she can't embrace her happiness b/c she lost hers with Burke.
Looking forward to next week.

I love George and I want him and Lexie together. If I have a choice though, he would be with Izzie. Izzie was only good with him and he is at her best with her. He and Lexie are much better than Mark and Lexie though.
Above all, I want my George to be happy and to be a resident. Come on, he deserves that more than anyone.
Shonda, we love George, make him happy.

Yeah I am all for George and Lexie. They would make an amazing couple. Mark and Lexie are both hot people, but that doesn't mwan they are hot together. They are like siblings.
I am like Maddie and some people here though. Gizzie will always be the best couple.

My fave scene was definetely when the ceiling fell on Karev and Hahn...I found it very impressive that no one was watching their surgery except for Bailey. And another funny scene was when Bailey told the Chief about the "poop water" in her kitchen after Tuck flushed a little toy down the toilet!
well, thing is...George's intern exam is a touchy subject...i mean if he passes, he becomes a resident, which means that he will then have interns to command, so that means a bigger cast, and how would his relationship with Lexie be? I think he would be at a higher place than her, and what really brings them together is their mutual misery, for lack of better words and need of short explanation.
If George doesn't pass, then he would feel horrible again...emphasis on AGAIN!!! I mean, not everybody can fail the same thing twice and be able to pick up the pieces and start over, I speak from experience.
Alex and Izzie, oh..come on, it's like Addison once said about DerMer, "the only ppl who dont see that der loves mer and [vice and versa] is derek and meredith". And I think that also applies at the moment to Izzie and Alex. But the point is...they should not have to move out!!! Derek needs to understand that Alex and Izzie are Meredith's family. So he needs to embrace them!!! And then, Izzie bakes...and I'm not gonna lie, everytime she bakes something it makes my mouth water!!! Alex sure brings a lotta filth (skanks) into the house, but as Mer said...he's uncle tom, was it? either way...the point is FAMILY!!! They're a family and Derek needs to understand that and stop trying to take Mer away from them!
Sloan is a witty addition to the show, that's all...he's there when he's supposed to be funny or w/e. he isnt vital enough to be the greatest tv character! he isnt even a great tv character in my POV, just a good one.
Meredith should continue therapy. She's made progress but she's not done. She needs therapy to keep her in balance. The point isn't to be happy, it's to be strong to keep going forward...to keep living and doing your job. (again, my POV)

Oh please. I so don't buy the big love story between Izzie and Alex. I bought it with Denny and I bought it with George, but not with Alex. How could she love this total jerk who is cruel, mean and a total jerk. It makes no sense. They have sex and they absue each other, that's all. Even if I wan't a Gizzie fan, which I am, I would think they were terrible.
I do love George and Lexie together. They are so cute and just the couple the show needs right now.
I am so mad at Shonda right now though, I don't even know if I will watch.
Where was the muffin scene? We get one Gizzie scene after months and the skank cuts it? GRRR!

I really hope George passes his intern test this time, i am tired of seeing him as an intern. Izzis has turned, my opinion, in to a bitch, she needs to be single for awhile. She is so stupid to go after Alex again who is an asshole. She just broke up with George and needs to stop and just have fun by herself, it seems everytime someone she knows starts a relationship she goes after them. As for George and Lexie, that is the only reason i still watch the show. Everybody that hated George and Izzie and George Lexie togerther seriously need to open their eyes. Doesn't George deserve a happy ending to. If he ends up happy with Izzie or Lexie or whoever that will be great so stop bashing on him for who he gets with. It seems everybody has a problem with every person he gets with and they don't want to see him happy. That is all i have to say. GO TWILIGHT!!!

I agree Vivianna. It feels some people don't want George happy just because he isn't their typical hunk and because he is the nice guy. I also think the fact that he is gay in rl is a part of the reason. Peoplem are so shallow and homophobic. It makes me sick.
Izzie has no chemistry with Alex. The guy absues her and she acts so lovey-dovey wiyh him and doesn't even care about George anymore, the one person who has always been there for her.
She makes me sick. Way to ruin her.
And if Lexie goes for jerk Mark who keeps ridiculing George, I'll lose respect for her too.
George deserves happiness and love way more than Mark and Alex, not to mention he has more chemistry with both women than Mark and Alex have with Lexie and Izzie.
If people would get over how he looks, and really watch his scenes with both women, they would see that.

Shonda should stop listening to the fans and start looking to the facts!
Izzie and George had an amazing friendship, and an epic night in bed, and with some bumps on the way, they should be together, at least resume their friendship. Alex and Izzie??? Come on!!! Alex is a good guy, but Izzie is a connection that was severed when he screwed up. The only guy who helped her, cared for her, would do anything for her, was... george. Stop bashing george, he's a great character!

IMHO, Mark Sloan is one of the greatest supporting characters in television history. I can see why the writers of GA love having him around. He says what is on his mind, whether he should say it or not, and in a way, that gives the writers a freedom they don't have with the other characters on GA.
Meredith should definitely continue with therapy, and a few of the other characters should join her. Dr. Wyatt rocks, and I was so glad to see that it looks like she will be showing up occasionally in future episodes.

George should be on more, treated with more respect and get true love. He has to apss his exam. TR is such an amazing actor, he expresses so much just with his eyes (the linen closet scene with Izzie still blows me away), but the writers give him no respect.
