I do agree that the writers are ignoring some major friendships. Not only George and Izzie, but Alex and Meredith haven't had a good scene (and they have lots to talk about). Plus, George and Callie were married for God sake, but you would never know it to see the show this season.

Yeah but Alex and Mer were never as close as George and Izzie. George and Izzie were each other's persons no matter how hard they are trying to rewrite as Alex being her person. Even this site blathered on about Izzie and Alex always having a connection. I sure didn't see that connection in season 3 at all or when she was with Denny. George and Izzie, on the other hand, never spent more than two episodes not sharing close scenes that showed their bond until Shonda lost her courage. She'd make the Lion in Wizard of Oz seem brave.

I have always hated people for not liking the Alex / Izzie relationship, and although I don't like Gizzie, I see what you're saying about Alex, and that the show does need to show us some positive tings. Even though Alex just went through a tragedy, we haven't seen his good side in a long while. And although I ultimaetly want to see Alex and Izzie together and happy in a relationship, I don't think that Izzie should be sleeping with Alex already. He has so much to make up for before he earns that. I also agree with TR. Everything you said was absoluetly true. But disregarding whatever side you take on it, I think the storyline will be interesting, Katie Heigl said she was very happy with it, and even if Izzie and Alex don't work out (I'm prayind they do), I hope Alex will grow up- but I hope he does it himself, and not just because of Izzie, although I agree she should help him or support him.
So I now understand some of the things that Gizzie fans have been saying, I just don't afree with them to the point that it's degrading to women/Alex is abusive. He has a lot of things to work out, and Izzie should help him, but not be opening her legs to him until he shows her respect and earns her trust back. Overall, I am an Izzie/Alex supporter and not a Gizzie supporter (but I do love George), but I think that Alex needs to grow up, and quickly, before he loses Izzie for good. Please, no bashing! Just my thoughts.

I agree that they weren't as close. I think that it is all a matter of opinion. I have seen a connection, at least from Alex's side, since the beginning. In S3, he let her help with the fake boob guy and also gave her a pep talk about her moving on when she was ready the night she slept with George. In S4, he told her that Cristina had nothing her as far as being a good doctor.
On the other hand, I always thougth that G/I had a great friendship, but I never saw any physical attraction between them whatsoever except George saying that Izzie was a stacked supermodel type. I NEVER saw any attraction from Izzie's die. In fact, she encouraged George to go after Meredith.
I agree with the point that we need more george/izzie time. I guess i can accept that she is with alex, (I will have to SEE it to believe it though) but i need at least a MINUTE of george/izzie contact! I mean come on! They are best friends. Anyways, i cant wait to see the new ep.! I LOVE christina's bit! I love bailey's reaction to the creepy doll, and i think its real funny that merideth has it! Haha! Concerned and Erica Fan - I agree with your worries! Erica's usually pretty crabby, but she's never outright rude to Bailey like this, so something had to have happened.
I'm sure her mood is a result of Callie/Mark. Seriously, I have no problem with Callie sleeping with multiple people to figure out what she really wants, that's great, we've all done it, but the fact that she is sleeping with Mark and Erica at the same time and Mark knows but Erica doesn't is really really shady.
Honestly, the fact that it's obvious how much more into the relationship Erica is than Callie, and the fact that you just know (because it's Greys) that Erica is going to get her heart broken, makes me appreciate her character that much more. It will be interesting to see if she'll become a ball of rage at everyone (as evidenced by the clip) or if she'll find someone else in the hospital to get all emotional on.

I am with you T - Callie looks great these days, I am just thrilled with the way the Callie-Erica relationship is being handled - very realistic. I figured Izzie & Alex would end up together - they are so very opposite in many ways makes for an interesting and dramatic relationship. I am so way over Meredith and Derek I am glad to see new blood coming in and Cristina being challenged for the first time in a while.
I suspect Erica may be feeling emotional about Callie - in a good way. I also think Erica has worked hard for years to suppress her emotions so the fact that they have surfaced is hard for her to deal with.

Now when it comes to how he treats her-- some argue that it was happening between them and then she just tossed him aside for Denny, but even back then he treated her badly at times. And she chose to turn away. Right now the writer's haven't even given them moments when he's sweet to her (maybe a blanket around her shoulders once) and in turn she jumps in bed with him? Doesn't make sense.
I do agree with you that love does not always choose the best. We love who we love.
But I don't think that what Izzie and Alex have is love.

Give me a break. Katie herself said Izzie was never in love with Alex, that she was in lust with him. It was all about taming her sexual beast in season 2. When Alex asked her why she was erady for George but not him, why she rejected him, she said because I fell in love with George, which clearly meant she was NOT in love with Alex.
She was in lust with him and pitied him. He was always in love with ehr but it was always one-sided. Now she can't help what her heart wants. She couldn't help it when she was in love with Denny and George either, but that at least made sense. We saw her feelings for thsoe guys.
With Alex, she was lusting after him then didn't give a crap about him for two seasons and then suddenly he boo-hoos a little, and she suddenly falls in love with him. Give me a freaking break!
They make no sense, have zero chemistry at all and are totally dysfunctional.
I love all the AI fans all come out in force defending their boring chemistry-deficient couple.
Stop complaining about Alex and Izzie, you sad Gizzie fans... I think their relationship has been there from the start, just kind of on and off. They should get another chance.
