We [AI fans] are not obcessive. I think Alex and Izzie relationship is the kind of bad guy / good girl who were friends "fell" for each other, were together, got apart. She cares about him, even though he's a jerk and he shows he doesn't care about her, but then he'll get her if she's crying over her dead fiance (or he'll probably just ask about her sick mother to some person), but she cares about him, and she "loves" him in a way that she notices when he's not alright. "I care about you, and I know you care about me to, and it's not too late for us" And it's not too late to believe in Lexzie, and he cares about Izzie, even though he doesn't show it... Yes it should be ok to like a couple and have different tastes but the Gizzie haters sure didn,t show us Gizzie fans any respect when our couple was together. They threatened and they whined until they got their way and now they want us to give them some kind of curtesy they never ever gave us. Because of them, our couple isn't even best friends anymore and doesn,t share more than 1 minute of airtime every 4 months so forgive me if I don't want to shut up about how sick and toxic your abusive couple is.

I love Alex and Izzie.. It's definetly realistic and something to work on.. It's not predictable.. And It's a storyline where you can honestly empathize with the characters. I sure as hell have dated guys like alex.. Who are broken but just need someone to let them know that someone actually cares.. I've been Izzie many times.. And alex is definetly going to learn how to love and acept love.. Now I LOVE.. LOVE.. LOVE.. MerDer... but everything doesn't have to be so bright and shiny and childlike all the time. Derek is the teacher and Meredith is the student in that relationship.. Typical girl boy.. MerDer has been through hell.. But they've also had some very good times and touching moments.. Alex never had that. And who better to give it to him than izzie.. The ultimate optimist. With Alex and Izzie you have 2 people fighting something bigger than themselves.. Izzie surrending to the fact that denny is gone and she has to move and give her love to someone else.. And Alex finally seeing he deserves to be loved and taken care of just like everyone else.. He is human after all..

I don't have to threaten Shonda. I quit the show when Gizzie ended and judging by the ratings, millions other people did. It doesn't seem Alex and Izzie in all their boringness are attracting the fans to the show.
Why did I quit the show? Because the show used to be good and now it is boring and predictable and soapish. I realized the relationship between George and Izzie had kept me watching. It was the one thing that wasn't predictable and lame.

Even if I wasn't a Gizzie fan, i wouldn,t want those two together. They are a train wreck waiting to happen and to me anyone who loves this couple is promoting and encouraging abuse.
No I used to watch for the whole show but in season 3, the show went downhill and only the Gizzie love story salvaged it.
It was pure, unconditional love and it was amazing. The way they would smile and look at each other like they were the most beautiful person on the planet for each other. They had the kind of love everyone dreams of having. That is until Shonda let a few shallow losers get her to drop them.
It is kind of difficult to threaten when Grey matter won't even post any of our comments, is it? censuring always works.

Alex and izzie suck. They have no chemistry. They are boring. They are sick. They are toxic. They are everything that could be wrong in a couple.
George and Izzie, as friends and as a couple, were always the heart and soul of the show, the spark. And it is that speark that has been missing since Shonda has been too gutless to give us more than one scene with those two. Because God knows having them even friends again would create the apocalypse or something.
And yes that latest kiss between Alex and Izzie had allo the passion of two dead fishes kissing.
The elevator kiss with george and Izzie where they were totally lost in each other, that was true passion and hotness.

Out of curiosity, can anyone think of some compromise between the GI and AI camps, and send it along to Shonda. I hate it when true fans can't get along. There should be enough love and hotness to go around. In defense of AI, I do think it is true to life that characters are not always attracted to and/or with the people who are best for them. I totally get that people may not want to watch that necessarily, but am I a total loser to think that it might come down to a matter of taste? As long as there is a good mix of healthy and dysfunctional relationships on the show, me, I'm happy.

Hey i would show respect for AI and their fans even though I loathe the couple to death if they had shown us Gizzie fans any ounce of respect when they were together. No, we had Gizzard sucks, Gizzard are incest, if Gizzard is together, I will quit watching. It made me so mad because throughout the Alex and Izzie disgusting sex games of season 2, I shut my trap out of respect for their fans and they couldn't even give us the same respect. The Gizzie fans waited 4 freaking seasons for this couple to get together and we couldn't even enjoy it because of those people and now we have absolutely nothing, Assiello threw a party when they ended even though the Gizzie fans were heartbroken.
So it makes me beyond mad that now we are suppose to be all mature and respectful when we were never given the same curtesy by those same people who now ask it of ut.
It makes me mad that every single time someone writes against Alex and Izzie on Grey matter, none of their comments ever get posted and everytime someone posts how much they miss Gizzie, none of their comments get posted eiehter.
I know I wrote every single blog since Gizzie ended and after the strike, they just stopped posting my comments. I know other people have told me the same thing has been happening to them.
I refuse to watch Grey anymore, not because they broke up Gizzie but because of why they did it and how, and because of the way they treat their fans like they don't exist. They have no respect for us. They made Lexie the new Izzie, and they destroyed their friendship and now can barely give us any scenes.

Daniella, it sounds like you have some legitimate causes for being annoyed. Especially if people were blocking you from airing the grievances that you had. That's annoying.
Also, I suspect that you're right that a few motivated fans can probably unduly influence the feedback that a network gets about a show, and in rare cases I imagine that might lead to an adjustment in the writing.
Everyone has a favorite couple on the show, and it makes sense that you would be hurt that the couple you were rooting for didn't get a fair shake. On the other hand, story lines have to evolve or the show stagnates.
You don't need to show restraint if you'd like to rant a bit. Go for it.
But here's the thing. I've never seen a diatribe change anyone's mind about anything. The bottom line is that all TV shows including Grey's not only respect their audience, they are desperate for the audience's approval. There is absolutely no advantage to a show to deliberately annoy it's audience. Trust me, the show is a lot worried about what you think and the fact that you've left it than you can imagine. They listen to everything. I actually think that where things go wrong is when a show tries to listen to everyone and loses it's creative impetus.
A show would never try to be disrespectful. They make the best choices they can in the hopes that the audience will come along for the ride. Right now there are about 14 million people watching. It would be real tough to imagine how we could all get exactly what we want from the show, all the time, forever and ever. I certainly don't think you should feel a TV show lacks respect for you personally. They try pretty hard in many many ways to keep you tuning in. With all the talk about what people don't like about it, I have yet to see someone who offers good solutions to the problems.
Anyway. I hope you eventually remember the good times you had with the show, rather than the frustration of seeing it get away from something that you enjoy. Trust me. If they knew how to bring you back, and not lose a bunch of other fans in the process, who might have different interests than yours, they would do it in a minute.

I was reading all the discussion and I thoink tvfanny made the most sense, except for one thing. As a Gizzie fan, I feel extremely ignored by this show. I know every couple have to break up one day on TV but the way they went about it, especially at the end making us believe they had great sex then saying they didn't and the whole chemistry you either have it or you don't, it felt like a huge slap in the face to all of us who thought they had more chemistry than anyone on the show. Then having George and Izzie constantly act like it was a drunken mistake when the story was portrayed as love and MOST OF ALL, the complete lack of any scenes with them for the last few months now.
I feel ignored and not respected, and I don't want to watch a show thta makes me feel so bitter and irrelevant.
I also hate Al;ex and Izzie. I could have stand Izie with someone else but putting her with a guy so opposite of George. A guy who is sleeping with her and another woman per the sneak peek and who treats her like dirt and have her excuse his every abuse is quite the insult.
For them to be kissing and having sex so soon when the Gizzie fans waited months for another kiss and lovemaking and only got 20 seconds is insulting too.
It also makes me wonder about Izzie that she would be attracted to a guy who treats her that way and that she would so easily go from one guy to the next like that, from one bed to the other in not even a month.
George and Izzie were special and a lot of people were starting to love them until Shonda totally sabotaged them.
Alex doesn't love Izzie. He is co-dependent on her. George really did.
They will have to do a lot of grovelling if they ever want me to watch this show again.

It made me so mad because throughout the Alex and Izzie disgusting sex games of season 2, I shut my trap out of respect for their fans and they couldn't even give us the same respect. They threatened and they whined until not onoly was our couple dropped but they didn't even share 30 seconds of airtime together. The Gizzie fans waited 4 freaking seasons for this couple to get together and we couldn't even enjoy it because of those people and now we have absolutely nothing, Assiello threw a party when they ended even though the Gizzie fans were heartbroken.
So it makes me beyond mad that now we are suppose to be all mature and respectful when we were never given the same curtesy by those same people who now ask it of ut.
It makes me mad that every single time someone writes against Alex and Izzie on Grey matter, none of their comments ever get posted and everytime someone posts how much they miss Gizzie, none of their comments get posted eiehter.
I know I wrote every single blog since Gizzie ended and after the strike, they just stopped posting my comments. I know other people have told me the same thing has been happening to them.
I refuse to watch Grey anymore, not because they broke up Gizzie but because of why they did it and how, and because of the way they treat their fans like they don't exist. They have no respect for us. They made Lexie the new Izzie, and they destroyed their friendship and now can barely give us any scenes.
Why should I or any Gizzie fan watch a show that treats us with suckh lack of respect?

Daniella, it sounds like you have some legitimate causes for being annoyed. Especially if people were blocking you from airing the grievances that you had. That's annoying.
Also, I suspect that you're right that a few motivated fans can probably unduly influence the feedback that a network gets about a show, and in rare cases I imagine that might lead to an adjustment in the writing.
Everyone has a favorite couple on the show, and it makes sense that you would be hurt that the couple you were rooting for didn't get a fair shake. On the other hand, story lines have to evolve or the show stagnates.
You don't need to show restraint if you'd like to rant a bit. Go for it.
But here's the thing. I've never seen a diatribe change anyone's mind about anything. The bottom line is that all TV shows including Grey's not only respect their audience, they are desperate for the audience's approval. There is absolutely no advantage to a show to deliberately annoy it's audience. Trust me, the show is a lot worried about what you think and the fact that you've left it than you can imagine. They listen to everything. I actually think that where things go wrong is when a show tries to listen to everyone and loses it's creative impetus.
A show would never try to be disrespectful. They make the best choices they can in the hopes that the audience will come along for the ride. Right now there are about 14 million people watching. It would be real tough to imagine how we could all get exactly what we want from the show, all the time, forever and ever. I certainly don't think you should feel a TV show lacks respect for you personally. They try pretty hard in many many ways to keep you tuning in. With all the talk about what people don't like about it, I have yet to see someone who offers good solutions to the problems.
Anyway. I hope you eventually remember the good times you had with the show, rather than the frustration of seeing it get away from something that you enjoy. Trust me. If they knew how to bring you back, and not lose a bunch of other fans in the process, who might have different interests than yours, they would do it in a minute.

Yes definitely!!!!!!!!This is what i have ben saying for like time immemorial that Alex and Izzie are made for each other. They are meant to be together. After all they have been through in the past seasons,they need to settle down once for all. It won't be too far-fetched ,but they should seriously think of getting married to each other.

I'll say i'm overenthusiastic about Alex and izz being together. Both literally steal the show,so they ought to be together.

I was reading all the discussion and I thoink tvfanny made the most sense, except for one thing. As a Gizzie fan, I feel extremely ignored by this show. I know every couple have to break up one day on TV but the way they went about it, especially at the end making us believe they had great sex then saying they didn't and the whole chemistry you either have it or you don't, it felt like a huge slap in the face to all of us who thought they had more chemistry than anyone on the show. Then having George and Izzie constantly act like it was a drunken mistake when the story was portrayed as love and MOST OF ALL, the complete lack of any scenes with them for the last few months now.
I feel ignored and not respected, and I don't want to watch a show thta makes me feel so bitter and irrelevant.
I also hate Al;ex and Izzie. I could have stand Izie with someone else but putting her with a guy so opposite of George. A guy who is sleeping with her and another woman per the sneak peek and who treats her like dirt and have her excuse his every abuse is quite the insult.
For them to be kissing and having sex so soon when the Gizzie fans waited months for another kiss and lovemaking and only got 20 seconds is insulting too.
It also makes me wonder about Izzie that she would be attracted to a guy who treats her that way and that she would so easily go from one guy to the next like that, from one bed to the other in not even a month.
George and Izzie were special and a lot of people were starting to love them until Shonda totally sabotaged them.
Alex doesn't love Izzie. He is co-dependent on her. George really did.
They will have to do a lot of grovelling if they ever want me to watch this show again.

I love them as a couple they are super hot and MerDer is the sweetness of the show so i think they complement the show as a couple!!!
