Rumors and speculation surrounding the September 25 Season Five premiere of Grey's Anatomy have reached new heights. Now Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly is about to make things even worse for us ...
Q: Can you tell me if Derek gets hurt in the Grey's Anatomy season premiere?
A: Judging by that infamous promo, ABC certainly wants you to think that, right? Well, allow me to clear things up for you - by way of a multiple-choice quiz! I can confirm that two of the following take place in the season premiere - one for real and the other in Meredith's imagination (the other two are outright foilers):
- Rose stabs Derek.
- Derek suffers a heart attack and is visited by the ghost of Denny.
- Dr. Burke returns to Seattle Grace and shoots Derek in the face before turning the gun on himself.
- In a flashback, we learn that Derek got into a car accident shortly after leaving Meredith in the candle field.

Shonda Rhimes is apparently doing cartwheels over his work thus far. Literally doing cartwheels. My Grey's Anatomy mole saw her doing one in the parking lot last Thursday.
Q: Anything else on Grey's Anatomy?
A: Don't be surprised if the season premiere leaves you a little, um, Lost. No, the Chief isn't going to turn the donkey wheel in the basement and make Seattle Grace disappear. Rather, a flash forwardish sequence will show us what two characters might be up to several years in the future.

Ok so what I'm thinking is:
Derek heart attack. Blah that wont happen too stupid. Health nut Derek wouldn't have a heart attack!
Derek car accident. won't happen for real, because shonda rhimes already said it won't. also. I don't think they would do that to Derek in the premiere and show it on the promo. And, the person on the gurney in the promo is identical to the limo driver in the season 5 pics released on spoiler tv. same injury and same facial features, with same black stuff on his forehead. I do however think that Meredith will dream about Derek being in a car accident... and maybe when she see's the guy on the gurney she thinks its Derek for like 2 seconds... totally possible. So Derek = Accident = Dream.
Burke can't come back.. dah he was fired.
So, i think that it's ROSE STABBING DEREK. By accident of course. She will be so caught up in the break up thing... and not thinking about what she's doing.. that she'll go to pass a scalpel or something... and accidentally stab him in the hand. Nothing severe or anything.. just yeah. Clumsy rose.

Haha... Very Nice information. Here's what I think:
1. Rose stabs Derek.
Very unlikely! Yes she will be pissed because Derek dumps her for Meredith, but I think the furthest she sill go is telling Derek or someone that she's pregnant, a big fat lie.
2. Derek suffers a heart attack and is visited by the ghost of Denny.
This one seems more likely. It's a way of bringing Denny back. And they say he will be back in the first episode right? This scene will fit. But it's a little over-pushed too, though, why is it always Denny who becomes the mediator in life and death situation? Is he a GOD? Are we going to find out that in the final episode as the big plot twist? :D
3. Dr. Burke returns to Seattle Grace and shoots Derek in the face before turning the gun on himself.
Haha.. Nice try, but it's impossible, because, well, aside the fact that he's fired, I don't think of any good reason why Burke must shoot Derek, his friend, and himself after winning the Avery Award? Not that I don't like Burke's reappearance. And also, we haven't heard of any news or indication about his return.
4. In a flashback, we learn that Derek got into a car accident shortly after leaving Meredith in the candle field.
This is likely. Perhaps the accident caused the near death experience, something for Meredith to scream about. And it's a good twist too.

Mer's dream: Derek in car accident
real: Rose stabbing Derek... in a figurative sense. She like stabs in in the back by telling him that she is pregnant and screwing up over or something in surgery. mind games= shonda rhimes

I think, that when Derek leaves Meredith in the field, he was going to end it w/Rose and yes, was in a car accident, had a near death experiece, seeing Denny, because Denny is returning as a military dr. I am thinking, it is Denny's twin brother?
We shall find out in 2 wks.

Shonda said in the podcast that der wasn't going to be in an accident...but i think the pic is of him after a nightmare car accident bc his neck is in a brace. so that is the mer dream--could be y she's screaming. but lets not forget the glass/icicle thing flying at possibly cristina and she is seen in a promo wearing a hospital gown.
i agree with whoever said ros will "stab" der in the back with her actions (fake pregnancy thing). it seems way out of character for rose to actually stab derek with the blood and everything...

I think that #'s 2 and 3 are very unlikely. I believe that #4 is Meredith's imagination getting the best of her. And Denny could easily be brought back while meredith is thinking this. They've used Meredith's mind to bring him back previously, so I wouldn't be surprised.
That leaves #1 for the truth. I think that this will probably play out more figuratively, than literally. At least I hope so!

I also think that Rose will stab Derek.. and that Mer will have the dream of Derek being in an accident..
Burke won't come back... he's gone.. bye bye!
and the heart attack thing.. just weird
