Hello folks----all this religious talk, while interesting, makes no sense since Grey's Anatomy is about creatively entertaining its audience....and part of that audience is gay---so its time people dealt with it or at the very least were forced to tolerate it.
Reminds me a bit about gays in the military, prejudiced people can all pretend that they are not there, if that makes them feel better, but they are there--- risking their lives along side the straight people.
Homosexuality is a part of our world, (guess what, its a part of nature) and it is my hope that someday this will all seem as backwards as it was when African Americans hardly had a presence on television.

THE funniest thing i've read in a while =P
Seriously though, I can't wait for season 5.
I'm so glad they've finally got Callie and Erica together, and are finally introducing a lesbian storyline.
Go Callica!

MerDer:
I find it interesting that you are a fan of the show from the very beginning, only threatening to stop watching it if they continue the Erica/Callie story line because "you are christian and the bible teaches against it"...you do realize that it also teaches against adultry (McDreamy/Meredith), that it teaches against pre-marital sex (McSteamy/Callie and other couples), about drunkeness, drugs, teenage pregnancy, and other topics addressed by the show. Where is your standard for these? I understand that it might not be comfortable for you to watch, but it does affect people, even ones you know and love.

I'm an out-proud lesbian--judge not lest ye be judged, MerDer--and I was a big George/Callie fan. I never thought Grey's could make up for having George cheat on her, but BOY WAS I WRONG! I LOVE Callica!! I can't wait for season five!!!

The Erica/Callie storyline isn't meant to be out there to offend anyone. I seriously doubt there was any intention for that. One of the beautiful things about GA is that it is tactile with stories that represent the ever changing world around us.
While I completely respect MerDer's view, as everyone is entitled to believe what they feel is right, I must just say that while MerDer is a christian, many people are not. I do not find it to be a particularly helpful thing to shout a religion (Of any kind) in people's faces and make demands from it.
The simplest thing in life, is to keep what you believe close to your heart and protect it there. Because if you put it on your sleeve you become a focal point for people who disagree. You can't please everyone, but as long as you aren't hurting someone with either words or physical harm and you lie your life helping others I don't believe that Religion, Race, Gender, Sexuality, or anything else will affect what happens when this life ends.
I am a gay woman, I don't feel the need to shout it out, after all, how many people walk around making the statement "I'm straight." I am happy that this story line is coming, I hope it will enlightening to people. I just hope that it doesn't divide people and detract away from the rest of the show.
.. Ok I'm done now x)

I, for one, am all for Callie and Erica getting together. I am a bisexual woman, and attack me all you want, but I'm happy. I love seeing Callie happy, since the person who makes Callie happy is Erica. I've seen it coming for several episodes now, and I thought when Addison came to visit she hit the nail on the head.
Shonda, you are doing a wonderful job with the storyline and "Grey's" altogether. I may not be able to watch Thursday nights because I work, but you can be sure I'll be glued to ABC.com's Full Episode Viewer the next day! I love the show!

Hey MerDer. I am a gay man and very proud to be one. I love that Shonda is treating this storyline with respect and love and making a great breakthrough with Callie and Erica and for the portrayal of the LGBT community on television.
You are clearly an uneducated, insecure and hateful person. You wanna hide behind your bible because you are to scared to be open to what real love is.
People like you make me sick. You complain about things that have nothing to do with you or with God. Then when people fight back all you can come up with is spouting out your bible passages, because you cannot form one single cohesive, intelligent thought.
If you think God doesn't love me because I am gay you are wrong and hypocritical, because you clearly don't understand what God is.
Just as a little postscript. I think the world and this country would be a much better place without a person like you in it.
You say you don't hate, but you do and I think it's pathetic that you are trying to spark a controversial discussion on a TV forum.
Oh and in case you didn't get the memo. You just got smacked down!
With love,

Hey McDer ~ I was a christian for 30 years, and because of the "church" and the "christian religion", I hated myself for way too many years. Now, I feel freer than I ever did. And all because of what was engrained into my head about homosexuals not entering the "Kingdom of God"... And knowing the Bible as well as I do, I'd like to Point out one big point...Jesus Said NOTHING about homosexuality whatsoever - it was the apostles that expressed their own deal about it.
Love GA, Look forward to the Storyline...CA Fans ~ Vote NO on Prop 8 !!
I know this was posted a long time ago, but I just have to say it; I really, REALLY love this relationship between Erica and Callie and I do hope that it will continue on for a long time. I just hope Shonda won't ruin this relationship, because there are a lot of people out there (including me) that just love this touching, cute, funny and really exciting relationship between Torres and Hahn!

I hate to break this to everyone, but I was reading on Insider that the Callie and Erica relationship is coming to an end. I loved the new storyline and thought that it added a much needed boost to a rather bland start of a season. Insider said that on Thursday Erica Hahn will no longer be a part of Grey's cast. They didn't say way, just stated that they write Erica out abruptly. Sorry!
