For the first time in three full seasons (Season One was only nine episodes long and therefore not eligible), Grey's Anatomy has been left off the final list of nominees for Outstanding Drama Series at the forthcoming Emmy Awards.
Up for the honor are Boston Legal, Damages, Dexter, House, Lost and Mad Men. Grey's Anatomy was among 10 semifinalists but missed the final cut.
A pair of Grey's Anatomy cast members, Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson, received nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series.
Impressively, this marks the fourth consecutive nomination for Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) and the third straight for Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey).
Last year, Katherine Heigl (Izzie Stevens) was nominated and won the Emmy Award for that category. This season... well, you know the details.
What do you think about this? Should Grey's Anatomy have been among the top six - or was Season Four really not up to par?

This is SO unfair! Chandra and Sandra should be in the race, and so should T.R., Patrick and Ellen. T.R. got robbed last year, I think.
Stupid Emmy people...

Completely fair! This might wake up the writers and make them realize something is wrong with the show.
Oh, and DarkandTwistyLee, Chandra and Sandra ARE in the race ;) (thank God)
And I still don't understand why the hell Patrick Dempsey was in the top 10.

This past season was not emmy-worthy. It was very good, patched some things up, but hopefully next season will bring out the original great writing this show used to have. The writers should not be mad at KH just cuz she said she didn't get a story that was worth an emmy. She didn't. She was a whiney cry-baby, and it was annoying, not emmy material. Please bring back the original Izzy!

The problem with season 4 is that it is very inconsistant. It is almost like the first 11 episodes and the last 5 are totally different seasons. I think that is mostly where things went wrong. Had some consistancy stayed, it probably could have gotten a nomination.
And personally, I know she was never in the top 10 for nominees, but I think Sara Ramirez was really robbed of a nomination. Her work this season has been consistant, and for the most part, Callie has always been in character. I'm sorry, but some of the stuff that Bailey was given this season was really out of character for her.

This season wasn't the best but Sandra Oh did an amazing job. I really hope she wins

Completely unfair. House this season was so freaking bad and it is nomminated... -.-

Season 4 only got good at the end--the writers need this as a wake-up call. They got nominations for 2 and 3 for a reason...they were great. They need to go back to that--the raw emotional honesty.
Ellen Pompeo did get snubbed, this year especially. And of all the years for Sandra Oh to win, I'm not sure this is the one I'd have picked--if she wins this year, I think it's more based off her performance in the show from season 1 to now. She didn't really get much airtime in season 4, to be truthful.

Season 4 was not good enough for an Emmy. Hopefully season 5 will be much better=).
