i completely agree with Sprite. AND ellen, sandra, and chandra def need to be nominated :]

  2. Jacqueline Says:

I can see what she is talking about in regards to the writing but I think that she should have just stop at " I am not submitting my name " and left it at that

  3. kelsey Says:

So perhaps you guys are right in thinking that katherine should have waited to see if she was nominated before she withdrew, but i think that it would have been a bigger media frenzy if she had of withdrawn after the nominations were cast. not only this, but it would have caused the academy more work as they would have then had to go back and nominate someone else. i don't think that she did this to be make herself look good or to make the writers look bad; in fact when they were on strike she was behind them 100%. i just think that she is a very genuine person and she wouldn't want to take away the possibility of an actress winning the award if she really deserved it. and we all have to admit that this year Katherine's character on the show was pretty much non-existent. I mean izzy went from being one of the main starts to playing such a secondary role that half of the time she wasn't even noticed. i think the writers and producers did this in part because for the last couple of years Izzy's character has kind of been stealing the show and meredith has been left in the dust...and after all it is Grey's Anatomy...so they probably felt like they had to downplay her character a little bit. the problem is that they did so too much and she got lost in the shuffle.

  4. shawna Says:

I'm sorry, but I find this extremely rude and ungrateful. Not only is she snubbing an institution that gave her a great honour last year, but she's turning down an award she just seemed to assume they'd give her if she was considered. Furthermore, she's being downright insulting to the show that put her where she is. She's kidding herself if she thinks she'd have a career without Grey's. The sooner she's gone from the show, the better in my opinion.

  5. Lauren Says:

I understand her reasoning, but I think she went about it the wrong way. I know she's all opinionated ,which I totally respect, but in such a critical, overanalytical, catty business, you have to know where to draw the line. It's just shady to snub the writers, who work very hard and went through a long strike, in public. Anyways, on a more hopeful note, Sandra Oh and/or Ellen Pompeo really deserve an Emmy award!!!!!

  6. Carmen Says:

i see her disappearing in season five of Greys and i'm for it. she thinks she is some great actress, don't slap the hand that feeds you. She already slapped knocked up which gave her her movie career now she's slapping her tv career. She may be big now but it will be KH who in a couple of years.

  7. greysfan0128 Says:

I agree with all of the above. Heigl was being selfish, rude and should have kept her mouth shut. She was put at the forefront of Grey's for too long and now has the big head! I wouldn't be surprised, or cry many tears, if season five were her last.

  8. JEnny Says:

omg, I totally forgot to mention her in my last comment, but if somebody deserves an emmy, its got to be sara ramirez! her acting was amazing in the episode "the heart of the matter".

  9. mellowbela Says:

Dude, she is seriously making me hate her. I agree with all the posts above, she virtually slapped the writers in the face publically. I hope she leaves the show and gets forgotten.

  10. maddie Says:

I always had a bad feeling about Heigl after her comments about Isiah. The thing I loved about Pompeo, Dempsey, Oh and others were that they stayed out of the drama and let Knight and Isiah work it out. But Heigl had to get involved and say all that crap about him when she didn't even know the whole story, and it wasn't her place to say anything.
This is just another reason I can't stand her. I was honestly not surprised to hear her say this because she does not seem like a smart person. She is completely making herself seem worthy of an emmy even though she is withdrawling her name. How hard is it to simply say she is withdrawling her name from being nominated simply because she does not think she deserves it because she doesn't! I know Izzie was extremely annoying this season but I also think it was Heigl acting that was not magnificent as well. There's no need to blame the writer's who basically gave her her career and she is really putting her castmates down by implying she deserves an emmy over others like Ellen Pompeo who I've always thought has done a much better job than Heigl has ever done.
I hope Heigl leaves because I can't stand her anymore. This for me was the last straw. Her characters weak, her actings weak, let her go! She can go make her dumb romantic comedies that she ends up criticizing later anyways!
Ugh and for the record, good luck Ellen Pompeo! She should have won one last year and I hope she wins it this year. Let's let a smart, pleasant and talented actress win this year. Anyone over Heigl.

  11. Kim Says:

I hope the writers drop her down an elevator shaft....

If any of you watched Friends, you get that joke. =)

  12. MerDer lover Says:

I always had the impression that Heigl is an arrogant person and now i'm sure she's so pretentious and to tell you the truth i don't think she deserved that emmy and i think she's the lest talented among all the cast my sister never watched grey's before i was an addict since day 1 so one week she has a grey maratohn and watched all 3 seasons then out of the blue she told me how come heigl wonan emmy i didn't see anything extraordinary in the way she plays her role..........I think if anyone deserves to complain is Ellen and Patrick they're both are amazing actors and they aren't recognised as they should be............I think if she continues with this attitude the writers should write her off i think in a way she's blackmailing them to do so 'cose she got the fame she doesn't need the show anymore

  13. Annette Says:

I think the story line with 'Really Old Guy; was good writing for Izzie. So was the fight in the cafeteria with Callie.

  14. AJ Says:

Are all of you crazy or did you not watch the last season of Grey's Anatomy?? IT WAS AWFUL! Frankly, I'm in awe of Katherine from pulling her name out of the emmy's! She did it because she wants to remain respectable. Have you noticed that almost everything she's in is REALLY GOOD? She's not a sellout like almost every other actor/actress out there! This is probably the last season of Greys I will watch because the writer's have seriously messed up the show. I support Katherine in this because she is smart enough to recognise when she doesn't deserve something!

  15. GP Says:

Ms. Heigl is such a self rightheous pompus ass, she is so full of herself if she isn't on Grey's next season I won't miss her or TR they have changed the story line now and it is not as interesting as it was before Mr. Washington left.

  16. SA Says:

    - the beautiful and talented star always speaks her mind. hmmm ???
    a) not so pretty once she opens her mouth.
    b) talented .............yesss! for putting her foot in her mouth.

Gaffe # 1.: "I did not feel I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination...."

That is right, KH just realised she's not so good of an actor anyways, so quickly blame others before goin' on the downward spiral. She should wonder how she even got the Emmy last year?? Despite great storylines...she was never as good as Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson. She got plenty footage last years...was she thankful? I hope so.

Gaffe #2 : .. and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization", Katherine Heigl said in a statement.

Gosh even the Emmy organization needs KH to keep their integrity in order? Is she a delusional megalomaniac ?

    Gaffe #2.5 : I decided against competing,"
Not very sporting is she ? If she fears not getting the award each year she will not compete...and also blame others for it. Arrogance should win awards. She'll get a load then.

Gaffe #3 : "In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials," she added.

Wow... talk of a swollen head. She did take it away last year.....Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh and Ellen. It's like (in her mind only) the Emmy organization will be unable to take their eyes of her and will have to give her the award if she appears....lolol.

Honesty ...candor?? There are a lot of things one may think and there will be others who may agree with you, but it should still NOT be said in public. Esp. if you are a public figure you cannot embarrass your own show and network so publicly. If she had problems with the material this is not the way to get importance..........blackmail the network by going public and trying to get support from media and fans. Her opportunistic trick backfired. She may have pulled this ploy one too many times.

  17. Gail Says:

I agree with Katherine that the writing was lackluster. I tolerated the last season in homage to the earlier spectacular ones. Katherine's role as well as Chandra's was grossly underwritten and a waste of good talent in my opinion. Katherine should be free to express her dissatisfaction, albeit with a little more grace but the truth must still be told. Come on writers give us something memorable! I used to hate missing an episode-lately it doesn't matter much.

  19. mynettnett Says:

One must realize that there is a ‘TIME’ for one to shine. This was not HER TIME and to think she to put her name in for consideration shows ‘SHE THINKS SHE HAS ARRIVED’….Someone is overdosed on ‘ME JUICE”. She need to chill out and enjoy the ride, beside I never knew who she was until she showed up on Grey’s

  20. kickass Says:

it's refreshing with somebody who's honest for once, somebody who's got the guts to speak their mind even if they're going to face these kind of reactions. (referring to all the stupid comments)

is she arrogant just because she says what she thinks? should an actor always be scared to speak their minds about their bosses or their work? i don't think so. thank god there are some people who are strong enough in themselves to say what they think. if that would be more common i think the quality would improve all over the business.. go katherine!
