Ellen Pompeo, Chris Ivery Cheer on Celtics

Here's a great shot of Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery at Boston's TD Banknorth Garden last night, where they watched the Boston Celtics defeat the visiting Detroit Pistons, 106-102, in a thrilling contest ...

Ellen and Chris in Boston

Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery nervously root on their Boston Celtics.

The Boston Globe wrote that "there were many familiar faces at last night's pivotal Game 5 against the Pistons, including long-suffering C's fan Donnie Wahlberg, and actors Louis CK, Mark Ruffalo, and Lakers partisan Leonardo DiCaprio, all of whom are in town shooting movies. Director Penny Marshall was courtside, as was Grey's Anatomy actress Ellen Pompeo, an Everett native whose credentials as a Celtics fan are unquestioned, and her husband Chris Ivery."

Justin Chambers Heads to School

Paging Dr. Karev! Grey's Anatomy star Justin Chambers paid visit to the Pilgrim School in the Korea Town section of L.A. on Wednesday morning.

Justin, who has been going through tough times lately, appeared to be in good spirits once again, meeting wife Keisha and picking up their kids.

REGULAR DAD: Justin Chambers, who was so terrific as Dr. Alex Karev in "Freedom," the season finale of Grey's Anatomy, picks his kids up from school.

The Pilgrim School is a (non-denominational) division of the First Congregational Church of L.A. One hundred percent of graduates go on to seek higher education.

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, husband Chris Ivery, and poodles Gigi and Valentino took in a local baseball game over the weekend. Looks like they had a good time! Here's a cute picture of the happy family's Sunday, May 25 outing ...

Grey's Anatomy: Revamped and Reinvented

So Derek and Meredith, as promised and hinted and prayed for by countless fans, might actually stay together. Might, because TV writers are cruel, and there are plenty of potential soap-opera obstacles in their path.

Still, the prospect of hope loomed large in Thursday's Grey's Anatomy season finale, "Freedom." And for Grey's Anatomy - which has ended many seasons by yanking happiness out of its characters' grasp - this truly counts as reinvention.

According to the Boston Globe, reinvention and recalibration have been the recurring theme of this season on ABC, between the Grey's Anatomy mood shift and the five-year time jump that marked the end of Desperate Housewives.

The MerDer Reunion

It's an important prospect, at a time when some of the network's biggest hits are showing signs of age - and network TV as a whole is fighting harder and harder for viewers. A hit only deserves to be a hit if it still has the capacity to surprise.

Grey's Anatomy Round Table Discussion: "Freedom"

While fans gather in our forum to discuss each character, couple and plot twist, the Grey's Anatomy Insider staff comes together to talk about the key moments and share their opinions regarding the latest episode of our favorite drama.

Round Table topics for "Freedom" include memorable Grey's Anatomy quotes and kisses, Emmy winning performances, unanswered questions and predictions ...

1. What was your favorite Grey's Anatomy quote from the finale?

McCritic: I can't recall the exact wording - and, no, it's not because I was crying so hard that my nose blowing drowned out the precise quote... I swear - but when Dr. Webber romantically told Adele that he was her husband and he was coming home, it almost made the confusing back and forth between these characters for the last two years worthwhile.

missingBurke: Have to go with this Meredith Grey quote (that it was interrupted by the kiss helps): "Now I'm here feeling like a lame ass loser. I got all whole and healed and you don't show up. And now it's all ruined because you took so long to come home! And I couldn't even find that bottle of champagne..."

iheartizzie: So many possibilities here, but when the "new" Mark told Callie how he wished he was all someone thought about and encouraged her to follow her heart with Erica, that was particularly awesome. I love Mark.

Torres and Sloan

2. Which of the many kisses in this episode was your favorite?

iheartizzie: They were all great, but in an outside-the-box pick, I'm going with the love-struck teen clinical trial patients, Beth and Jeremy. Most of the time the medical cases exist solely as devices through which our favorite characters interact, but these two were really terrific and helped make the episode great.

McCritic: Alex and Izzie. Not because I wanna see these two get back together, but because it was a vulnerable moment, played to perfection by Justin Chambers, that actually did not result in misguided sex for a change.

missingBurke: That montage was amazing, but nothing compares to Meredith and Derek. That kiss was an entire year in the making, and worth the wait.

Shonda Rhimes Discusses Erica and Callie

For Grey's Anatomy fans who began the season wondering if Dr. Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith) was gay, last week's season finale offered an answer â€" she might just be, after Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) made her move.

The two-hour episode â€" which culminated with Callie planting a kiss on Erica outside of Seattle Grace â€" had people asking: For the love of The L Word, could EriCal eclipse MerDer as the Grey's Anatomy "It" couple?

Creator Shonda Rhimes tells Entertainment Weekly that we may not have seen the last of this budding (and much buzzed-about) Seattle Grace romance.

Erica and Callie Work It

Is there a future for Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Erica (Brooke Smith)?

"Callie and Erica have an undeniable chemistry," says Shonda Rhimes.

"Watching the story unfold is something the writers are looking forward to. I wanted to illuminate their relationship in the same way we try to do all relationships on the show â€" funny, sweet, honest, and a little bit dirty."

As for Brooke Smith, she doesn't think Dr. Hahn was coming out of the closet in the last few weeks leading up to the finale.
