I don't know why everyone is saying she would fail as an actress. If she wasn't a good actress her movies wouldn't have been box office hits. If you think about it, she was the only really popular actor in Knocked Up and 27 Dresses(other than James Marsden). And for those who say her character sucks and hasn't developed...it's not like SHE'S the one writing it, she just has to act it. I'm sure she feels the same way sometimes. Honestly, I don't want her to leave but if she does, she will be missed. Stop being so mean to her, it's not like your opinion matters in this situation, considering you don't run the show.

I DO really think that Izzie/Katie is important to the show, I mean it's the same as with other Tv shows (like The O.C.): if a big character of a show leaves it the show will go down, REALLY down!
Besides Izzie is my favourite character and I LOVE Gizzie, the couple is the reason why I tune in every week...I just hav to say that I can't stand the idea of her leaving....I mean it's a bit understandable why she wants to leave but I still think that she owes it to the show to stay beacuse it made her what she is now and I think she shouldn't forget that altough I'm a big Katherine Heigl Fan

From the last episode of Grey's anatomy I had the feeling Izzie will leave the cast... Denny kept saying he was there for her, maybe becasue she is dying and he is there to take her... well, don't know... but it looks she will leave greys anatomy :-(

I liked Izzy in the beginning but I think the writers didn't keep her character true. Izzy actually annoys me at times. When Denny came on the show, I thought he was going to revive Izzy's character. I was so shocked and upset when he died. I wished he stayed on the show. I really don't care if Izzy leaves, I think I'd prefer it.
I was so in-love with Denny. The story, the man, his look, his smile, those dimples, his blinking eyes, his voice. I even love his stance ( hands in his pockets or out.) This whole thing is going to break me apart again. What a tease for us Denny fans. Hey how about a story line from Heaven? Have Izzy die and follow their Heavenly relationship. :)

Katherne's departure would open the door for another talent. I started out liking her and the character she plays. After watching several media interviews the young lady seems to have acquired a big head. The cancer diagnosis does lead one to imagine a possible departure at hand. I agree with Suzanna's comment regarding this "star". Go! The show will survive without you.

I so agree with Suzanna. Get rid of Izzie -- I'm tired of hearing her whine. Get back to the first season - where we saw Meredith trying to become mature while dealing with her profession, her mom's disease, and her sexuality. The whole show became too much of a high school drama, and Heigl/Izzie (in character and in real life) has often led the way. Get back to mature, real love relationships and mature, thoughtful consideration of the ethical problems faced by the medical profession. It was way more interesting!

I don't think I will watch after Izzy goes. Izzy and Alex have been my favorite since the show started and I'm glad they are back together and I am looking forward to seeing them develop as a couple again. I'm tired of Christina - boring! I will be done with GA if Izzy goes.

I just recently got into this show by renting the older seasons on dvd. Although Izzie and George are two of my favorite characters, I will still tune in because who knows what is going on behind the camera? Some actors demand too much money. This is a terrific cast and they will survive without them.

To all of those who claim they will leave if Katie leaves.. I am very dissapointed. You can look at all the actors on the show and truly believe she is all that Grey's Anatomy has to offer? There is such a well thought out storyline with amazing people not only behind the scenes, but convincing actors that lead this show. Izzie has definatly died out and I use to enjoy her charactor, and she has just become annoying over time. I can understand why she would not be relating to her charactor anymore, because all she does is whine. I began to lose interested once she fell for every man that crossed her path. It was just a sick reminder of those annoying girls that truly do exsist.
If she left, I would be happy. She can play other charactors and do a thrilling job at it. I believe she can be more successful elsewhere, and easily replaced on Grey's. Her time is over.
