Report: Katherine Heigl Wants Out of Grey's Anatomy
We can't confirm this Grey's Anatomy gossip with any degree of certainty, but BuddyTV is reporting that Katherine Heigl wants to leave the series that has vaulted her to critical acclaim and fame on the big and small screens.
Heigl, who has experienced success at the box office with movies Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, reportedly seems more focused on pursuing her big screen career now and believes that she may have "outgrown" Grey's Anatomy.
Rumors say that Katherine Heigl, who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens, has even asked the producers of the hit medical drama to kill off her character - and to do so in such a manner as to hopefully elicit record ratings for the show.
SIDE NOTE: It would be tough to top the viewer response that followed last season's three-part episode in which Meredith Grey died and was later revived.
Katherine Heigl is allegedly swamped with movie offers these days.
The Emmy-winning Grey's Anatomy actress has apparently been swayed by impressive box office performances of her theatrical releases that she no longer wants to be attached strictly to her small screen persona.
She is rumored to be keen on focusing on her film career and has even put together a production company with her manager and mother, Nancy Heigl.
Even if this were true, and we're not sure it is, simply orchestrating a dramatic exit from the Grey's Anatomy cast won't be easy for Katherine Heigl.
Not if the show wants her back, that is. Heigl's contract with ABC and Touchstone has her locked in at Seattle Grace for the next several years.

YES! I want Izzie to go away (permanently)! I believe that George could once again become the man he is proud of being. I do not understand how this no talent actress is suddently the hottest thing since sliced bread. I want to see Grey's finally start to treat a marriage well. They have thoroughly trashed every relationship on the show, and the show is no longer fun to watch.

It's the seasonal "someone is leaving" time gossip lol. This happens every year. Yea, I'll believe it when I see it since I really don't go by tabs especially Buddy TV who has become more digusting as weeks go on.

she cant leave so it doesn't even matter. she is under contract and she is too important to the show for touchstone to let her go. buddy tv is stupid. rumors are dumb.

Actually we DID see that coming.
And i have to agree with Suzanna on the relationship part. they trashed everything they could.
Although i used to like izzie... before the whole george-thing started. She was quite the anti-meredith back then, never whining and with the trailerpark & ex-model background.. you know.
Now you can actually feel a bit that kathrine heigl and izzie aren't as connected as they used to be. Everytime i see izzie, it's as if there smth written across her face just like: "Hello, i#m kathrine heigl and i am stuck with this character who is sad and whining and blah.. i tell, it is so NOT fun to act.. and people start disliking izzie anyway.. and, hey guys, hollywood's waiting for me, everybody just looooves me there."
no offence, but you can almost see. There is a sopt of "Man, i could be huge" on her face.
btw, the photo actually makes me shiver.

No please, I refuse to believe. She cant leave. You cant build up sucess on a show and then just leave it when you owe most of your carrer to it. Especially if its the BEST SHOW EVER. And plus I do really love Izzie ( her character ) and its not like she dosent get good story lines.

I don't think she is leaving, she loves wotking with TR and would not leave now, plus she said she was planning on do both. Plus, I adore Izzie. She and George are my favorite, and Gizzie is my favorite couple. Although it would finally kill Lexziepuke for good. I do think I love Gizzie more than I hate Lexziepuke though.
Talking about Lexziepuke, I saw you picked a pro-Lexziepuke and anti-Gizzie one in the last closed caption contest, how transparent and insulting to all the Gizzie fans who post here!

if she leaves i leave, there is not much left now and we still have to wait until the end of april for the next new episode. grey's is just not that good, the show will go under if izzie is killed off.

I really do not think she will be allowed to leave not wihtout going to court although all of the actors contracts are up for renewal there may be some loop hole there but unless she wants a law suite she will stay put

Okay, so Izzie isn't my favorite character but I really like Alex and I don't think Alex has ever stopped loving Izzie, so I guess I don't want Izzie to leave because I want Alex to be happy. Although, he could be perfectly happy with Lexie. . .so I don't know. I had been trying to figure out who could possible be leaving (when the rumor first came up) and couldn't figure out who would possibly want to leave this hit show. I'd be sad to see her go, I guess. Oh, and if they killed her off dramatically, I'm pretty sure Alex would fall apart, whether he'd admit to it or not. . .

So long, farewell.... don't let the operating room door hit you on the way out. Her character has always been annoying and unrealistic to me. Of all the characters hers is the weakest in development and depth. I will not be sad to see her go. Katherine Heigl is a decent actress who will continue to do well in movies I suspect so why not go with the big money. I wish her well and continued success.

I had heard from Ausiello months ago that someone major wanted out of their contract and I knew it was her. Katherine Heigl bites the hand that feeds her and if she wants to go I say let her! I like Izzie and would hate to see her leave Seattle Grace, but Katherine Heigl just doesn't know when to shut up! Let's not forget that after great success with "Knocked Up" she insulted the film and the characters. She certainly added alot of fuel to the fire with the Isaiah Washington incident and I don't know if anyone has seen a recent video of her pushing and pulling TR Knight around like her dog. She even called her own marriage a "crap shoot." She has no faith, respect or loyalty and I am sick of her. I hope she leaves the show and ends her fifteen minutes of fame even quicker. Five years from now she will be "that girl who left Grey's." Better yet, maybe she should ask David Caruso for some tips on her movie career. It took him how many years to get another acting role???

I hope this news isn't true. Even though it was mentioned a few months ago that someone wanted off the show. I would hate to see the original cast lose another member. And even though KH has done well for herself since she joined GA and has made a couple of movies and has signed on to another one, I would hate to see her make her exit too early. Look at PD, he has been established in the business for many years but he realizes what GA has done for him and is thankful for that and will continue to stick with GA till the end! He's not crazy, he's doing the right thing. He is taking advantage of all of his opportunities and he is not forgetting who is responsible for his new success...Grey's Anatomy. Like he has said many times, fame is a fleeting thing, (here today and gone tomorrow). I know its great to be in the movies but it is even greater to be on a weekly hit tv show and are in everyones livingrooms week after week AND in the movies. Thats a very smart move on PD's part and I just hope KH isn't moving too quick to leave Seattle Grace. If all of this is even true!

I am not surprised that Katherine wants out - I could tell by her hiring two publicity agents and her attempt to get into the llimelight every chance she got (I know actors do that but the other one's on Grey's don't).
She used the Isaiah Washington incident to her benefit and even TR's private life to get publicity.

NO!!!!!!!!! KATHERINE HAS TO STAY!!!!!!! it seems like all the good characters are leaving, and without them...the show crumbles. With Burke and Addison already gone, we need Katherine.
