The return of Grey's Anatomy is still weeks off, but TV Guide sleuth Michael Ausiello is already getting the scoop on what we can expect when our favorite show ends its long, long writers' strike-induced absence on Thursday, April 24.
There's nothing Earth-shattering here, but we've hidden these new Grey's Anatomy spoilers after the jump for the benefit of those who wish to be kept in the dark.
If you want some hints on the future of Mer-Der and the character that was supposed to be played by Josh Jackson, follow the jump and read on!
Question: I was really looking forward to Joshua Jackson being Cristina Yang's new love interest on Grey's Anatomy, so the scheduling conflicts suck! Any updates on who will be cast in the role instead?
Ausiello: I'm hearing that Shonda Rhimes has handed the plum part to a relative newcomer by the name of No One. Get it? She handed the role to No One. [Hold for laughter and/or crickets] Seriously, my Grey's Anatomy spies tell me that Rhimes has decided to put the character on hold indefinitely. Bummer.
Question: I need some Grey's Anatomy scoop. Any hope for us Mer-Der fans?
Ausiello: Not in the first episode back, which flashes forward a few months and, per one source, picks up at the end of Derek and Rose's latest date. In that same episode, I'm hearing about a contest to determine who Seattle Grace's best doc is.

Okay, I have a question. By "The first episode back flashes forward a few months" Do they mean there's gonna be 1 flash forward in the ep, like they did at the beginning of season 3 OR do they mean that several months have passed between ep 11 and 12 of season 4 ???

ok just saying. THEY BETTER NOT HAVE SEX. i will be really pissed if that happens. i am sad though a couple of months? does that mean merder are over?

Seriously, MerDer is ok, but all I care about is Gizzie getting back together, they are why I watch.

evisarens; From how I read it, I would say that there will be several months between the time of episode 11 and 12.
Due to the compressed length of season four, as a result of the strike, it was said that they were going to have cram in the rest of the season into the remaining five episodes. This would explain them wanting to move things along quicker.

George and Izzie are why I watch and they seem to be relegated to the backburner lately. Call me when Gizzie is on the front again, the show is boring without them

Gah! Derek and Rose on a date. I might just puke. Seriously. And if Der/Rose has sex...OH MY GOSH, I might just vomit even more. I mean, I thought that Der/Rose was only for a month. MORE than a month? Ewww. This better be over pretty soon is all I am going to say.
In other words, that contest to be the best doc sounds fun. Can't wait to see this new episode.

All I care about is Gizzie being together

I want both Gizzie and MerDer back together but especially Gizzie

Well I think it's a good thing that there are a couple of months between epi 11 & 12. If not, it would be silly if MerDer would be immediately back together, no? Now they can (hopefully) show how much Mer & Der are missing each other & stuff...
