Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: The Mer-Der Reunion
The return of Grey’s Anatomy is a little more than a month away and the Grey’s Anatomy spoilers are starting to surface regarding its new episodes.
Don’t get your hopes up - there’s nothing Earth-shattering here.
But TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello has the latest on what we can expect for Meredith and Derek, as well as some interesting casting notes (and speculation).

Question: Now that we know Meredith and Derek will be getting back together on Grey’s Anatomy, any idea on how it will happen, and why the fans have to endure five more episodes of Rose, a.k.a. Nurse Plot Device?
Ausiello: I imagine the reason you have to endure Nurse Plot Device Rose for five more episodes is because 1. the show already agreed to pay Lauren Stamile for those episodes, and 2. Nurse Plot Device Rose is probably one of the catalysts bringing Mer-Der back together. In related news, new details are emerging about the first episode back on April 24 and they vary slightly from what I reported last week. I’m told that roughly six weeks will have passed, not “several months.” And the first scene will most likely take place at Seattle Grace, not at the end of Derek and Rose’s latest date. Damn Grey’s Anatomy script revisions!
Question: Grey’s Anatomy scoop — please, sir, may I have some more?
Ausiello: Get this: Grey’s Anatomy is out to get George Clooney! Well, a George Clooney type, at least, to appear in two episodes. The show also is on the hunt for an actress to play the hunk’s wife, who, though younger, is no Sarah Larson; she’s more of an everywoman housewife. I’m thinking American Dreams alum Rachel Boston? So what if she was already on the show — bring her back! You got a better idea?
I can’t wait until April 24th! I am excited to see how Shonda FINALLY takes us on the lovestory journey of Mer/Der!
I know I have read alot of speculation of the “6″ weeks thing with Derek and Rose on whether they have been together for 6 weeks. To me, this doesn’t mean that they have been together everyday since Mer/Der broke up. Yeah, maybe they have dated a couple of times, but I just don’t think the time limit really means anything here. Actually, I think the 6 weeks is a good amount of time for Mer/Der to realize that they really miss each other since they have never really taken any time apart since Mer took the honeymoon w/Cristina. I think it will be good to see them working together again and seeing how much they miss each other. I read somewhere where they would be working on a surgery together, (not sure if that is true or not). I hope so though. You know that will be awkward for them and that is a good beginning for us to see that magnetic pull (that Shonda referred to) these two share by actually working together!
I think it would be refreshing for Derrick and Rose to be together for awhile. I’m tired of Merideth going back and forth about her level of commitment. He deserves someone who wants to be with him totally. Once he and she get back together I think it would be interesting to keep Rose on as a satellite character. She is a breath of fresh air.

I am a HUGE MerDer fan, they are my favorite couple, but Gizzie is an EXTREMELY close second and I will cry if they do not get back together too and Lexziepuke happens instead

As for Nurse Rose’s nickname[Nurse Plot Device], the fan that came up with that is funny but a genus. Although I agree with Jen, it is refreshing to see Derek with someone else. Although most will argue he already did that when he was kicking it with Addy.
I think nurse Rose is not that perfect and friendly woman we are made to believe. I thinks there is something wrong with her.
It all looks too good to believe. I think she is going to hurt Derek or is cousing him problems………

i stopped watching grey’s coz i thought shonda is driving me crazy with the whole love-hate relationship of merder. but i might actually start watching again if they put merder back for GOOD. coz the whole breakup-gettogether is getting old.
George Clooney!! Now that’s interesting!!!! I’m with the ones that said they like McDreamy and McSteamy better. Anyway, I’m glad that Gizzy is done. I love Izzy and George as best friends or like brother and sister, and what’s wrong with Lexie and George? They look like they would be cute together. What’s wrong with Izzy landing McDreamy? She has it way over Meredith. As for Mer/Der, I’m not a fan of those two at all. I think they are better apart, and I would be very disappointed if Derek didn’t get someone that is right up on his level. Some people write in that he’s a jerk or McAss instead of McDreamy, but I think he’s been nothing but a McDreamy where Meredith is concerned. Meredith is the one that keeps pushing him away. I just can’t see how they are going to change Meredith and make her ready for a committment in such a short time. Meredith is miles away from him. Derek is already there, career, what he wants. He was married and was already settle. What should have happened was Derek and Addison working it out, as flawed as they were. Meredith still needs time. He’s a successful surgeon and Meredith is bearly getting started. Plus I think she’s a lot better when she is without him. Not so immature. It’s like little girl trying to please her daddy. There’s been too much unanswered business between those two, and as talented as I think the writers are, they need to sit with each other and read what they are writing about those two because they are not consistant with them. For example in one of the episodes in Season II, they have Derek talking to Addison ( a real adult conversation by the way), and he says to her that he was different towards her. He was absent and part of the reason for their problems. He then aplogizes to her and said that he would work on it. Then the next few episodes, you see him mushing around Meredith and not really trying with Addison, and then the end of that Season, doing the McNasty with Meredith in one of the examining rooms. I know this is long and winded, but that’s what I mean when I say that the writers need to compare notes. I still want to say though, that the writers are wonderful. Keep it up. I’ll still watch even though I really hope that Mer/Der will end. If it isn’t working all these seasons, give it up.
Der/Mer should be together. A little time apart would do them good, and mer would realise her love for him so him being with the nurse would a least put her mind in prospective. George clooney will definetely turn the heat up in a couple episodes.

i’m so happy merder is happenuing again. derrose sucks. i hope rose isn’t a recurring character. i just want merder together and to stay together. please. merder love rocks. i just want mer to finally be happy. people are blaming derek for the problems of their on/off relationship. i blame mer. derek hasn’t done anything wrong. mer stop running and just commite to derek. it is getting old and boring. i so prefer it when merder are together. as a couple. i was over the moon to find out shonda is going to put merder back together again for good at the end of season 4. shonda you are my hero.
