"Good Medicine," from the Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy cast, is held to benefit the Solidarity Fund - set up by the Writer's Guild of America to help members of film and TV productions who were put out of work by the strike.

The event is being held at Royce Hall at UCLA, on Friday, February 29 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the event ($85) are on sale and open to the general public. For more information and to purchase tickets click here.

Grey's Anatomy Renewed For Season Five; New Spring Episodes Could Be Ready to Go in Six Weeks

With the three-month writers' strike effectively over (at last), ABC and Grey's Anatomy are getting back into the show-making business.

ABC has announced that nine fan - and advertiser - favorites would be back on the small screen next fall, with full-season renewals given to Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Private Practice, Pushing Daisies, Samantha Who? and Dirty Sexy Money.

The 2008-09 season will be the fifth for Grey's Anatomy, although Season One contained only nine spring episodes and this season (Season Four) has been stuck on 11 for weeks now due to the strike. There have been 72 episodes to date.

Chambers, Justin

Justin Chambers and the Grey's Anatomy cast will be back in April!

While the network was quick to tout its fall lineup, it has yet to confirm its spring one. E! reports that writers / actors for Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Brothers & Sisters and Ugly Betty will be among the first back to work.

Other comments from ABC confirm that Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Lost will be ready to go within six weeks or so, putting us on track for a return of new Grey's Anatomy episodes in early April. We think.

Kristin Veitch of E! reports in a separate column that the show returns to its usual time slot May 1, whatever that means. So all bets are off.

ABC also plans to move Lost to 10 p.m. on Thursdays, right after Grey's Anatomy, giving it an uber-lineup on TV's biggest night of the week.

As for ABC's trio of new hits, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money, the network's Wednesday-night triumvirate will stay dark until the fall, leaving only repeats until the new seasons return then.

Eric Dane Not OK! With Cancer Story

The "fight against cancer" Eric Dane reportedly went through was not nearly as bad or dramatic as it sounded in OK! Magazine, the actor's rep said.

The OK! Magazine cover story in its February 18 issue sensationalized the fact that the Grey's Anatomy star, 35, was diagnosed with skin cancer and had malignant cells on his lip frozen off with liquid nitrogen in a doctor's office recently.

"Eric Dane does not have cancer," his rep told Us Weekly.

"He spoke with OK! to clear up inaccuracies they were planning to run. His story certainly does not compare to those actually suffering from the disease."

Eric Dane is Fine

The actor who plays Mark Sloan (a.k.a. McSteamy) on Grey's Anatomy was reportedly mortified by the cover of the celebrity news magazine.

"Never in a million years would he have expected they would exploit his story," says the rep. "He's considering legal action."

Let this be a lesson to us all not to trust OK! Magazine.

In other news, thank goodness the writers' strike is officially over. Can we have some new Grey's Anatomy episodes already, for crying out loud?

Josh Kelley Speaks on Marriage to Katherine Heigl

Josh Kelley has plenty to sing about these days.

In addition to releasing his new album, Special Company, he's still basking in newly wedded bliss with his wife of one month, Katherine Heigl.

"It just feels unbelievable to be married. I thought that being married wasn't that different from dating, but actually it is so different," the singer/songwriter, 28, told People magazine Thursday in Chicago.

"As a husband, my mentality changed from being a boyish man to a man's man."

In fact, Josh Kelley's courtship with the Grey's Anatomy star, 29, has been what he calls a crash course in emotional maturity.

"When we first met, I could tell that my A.D.D. would definitely frustrate her a little bit," Kelley said. "It's like ... I would be drawing on paper tablecloths when I should have been engaging in conversation. Things like that. No one ever told me that before. Nobody ever cared. But she does. And I like that."

The two, who didn't even live together until after the ceremony, have settled easily into a nice domestic routine. Katherine Heigl has had plenty of time to nest, thanks to the writers' strike, so that's been a silver lining at least.

"We cook together," he said. "She is a great cook. I am a good helper chef. I'm good with the grill and good with taking chances with certain spices."

But what about the L.A. club scene? According to the singer, you won't be seeing Josh Kelley and Katherine Heigl at Hyde or Les Deux anytime soon.

"We are not a typical Hollywood couple at all," Kelley explained. "We stay in. We cook, we watch Dexter, and I make music and paint. It's fun."

Justin Chambers Catches Up on Reading

After spending a few days in the UCLA psychiatric ward for "exhaustion and a sleeping disorder," Grey's Anatomy star Justin Chambers is back at home, and was spotted out in L.A. reading what appears to be the Bible for guidance...

Reading Material

Other members of the Grey's Anatomy cast say Justin Chambers was just going through some tough times, but nothing severe, is now back and doing fine.

Joshua Jackson May Appear This Season After All

Kristin Veitch of E! Online reports today that, pending the official end to the writers' strike (which is all but over as of today, the Los Angeles Times says), Grey's Anatomy will indeed restart the suspended production on Season Four.

This burst of production expected to produce a handful of new episodes (as many as five, TV Guide first reported) to air in April and May, Kristin writes - and Joshua Jackson is expected to finally fulfill guest star duties as Cristina's love interest!

Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger

Grey's Anatomy fans hoping for a guest appearance by Josh Jackson this season may still get their wish as the writers' strike ends, according to recent reports!

Patrick Dempsey Feels Need For Speed

Hey, you can't just be lazy because your hit TV show shut down production. Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey stays in gear - and stays in shape - biking through the Hollywood Hills Monday. An avid auto racing enthusiast / team owner who we also see cycling fairly frequently, Patrick clearly feels the need for speed...

Rough Rider

Patrick Dempsey and the rest of the Grey's Anatomy cast will hopefully be back on set soon, filming episodes for the spring. The writers' strike has gone on for three months now and is reportedly going to end this week, officially.

Katherine Heigl Promotes 27 Dresses, New Look

Grey's Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl shows off a new hairstyle - a short, blonde bob - at a movie promo / photo shoot Monday at the Hotel Ritz in Madrid, Spain.

What do you think of Katherine Heigl's new hair style?

Her new romantic comedy, 27 Dresses, only dropped 33 percent at the box office this past weekend, pushing its total to $65.4 million.

This is the second straight big screen hit for Katherine Heigl, 28, who scored big with last summer's raunchy laugh-feset, Knocked Up.
