Kate Walsh to Return For One New Episode
The redhead is back! ABC has confirmed that Kate Walsh, whose spin-off Private Practice is on hiatus until fall, will return to Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Addison Montgomery for one episode this spring, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes is still fleshing out the script, so no word yet on when Kate Walsh’s episode will air or what the premise will be.
ABC will air five original episodes of Grey’s Anatomy beginning April 24.
The last time Kate Walsh (as Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd) was seen walking the hallways of Seattle Grace was in the series premiere of Private Practice, which is the 2007-08 season’s second most-watched new drama.
In the Private Practice pilot, Addison said a tearful goodbye to Seattle Grace to start a new life at Oceanside Wellness Center in Southern California.

And I watch Private Practce too, but I can’t say I love the show, I even think it’s a little boring, I only watch it because of her. And it’s nothing compared to Grey’s !!!

It will be interesting to see how Shonda uses Addison in the upcoming episode. She could be coming back for a genreal visit and is very surprised to find out that Derek has broken up with Meredith! She could tell him that he should not have done that because everybody knows that Derek loves Meredith! Remember she told Derek back in season 3 not to ever hurt Meredith again. Maybe she will help Mer/Der start working their way back to a reconciliation. No one knows these to any better than Addie. Right?
YES!!!!! I miss Addison so much! I never really got into Private Practice, partially because of the strike. I think that she should come back to Grey’s full time.

Yes! This is GREAT news! I can’t wait to see what addison delivers to the show. I hope she whips Derek’s little behind for being such a butt to Mer. She needs to open Derek’s eyes about what really needs to happen.

This is what I think will happen….
Addison will walk into the hospital and Rose will say something to her that makes her not like Rose. Then, she’ll hear that Meredith and Derek broke up. After that, she’ll find Meredith and help her get Derek back somehow. Or she could just talk some sense into Derek. Either way, I just want Meredith and Derek to get back together…. maybe through Addison.

Kathy– I am SO on board with you– I think Addison is going to come back and b-slap Derek— thats the awesome thing about Addie & exactly who she is — she will remind Derek what everyone else knows– that Der loves Mer! She could be cold & spiteful over everything & that would be perfectly understandable, but in the end she is rooting for Der & Mer as much (or more) than the rest of us!
How about Addison coming back because Meredith is pregnant and there are complications. Derek panics and calls Addison. Then she can give Derek the peptalk he deserves.

I love the heat that Addison brings to this show, we really need her to come back and stir things up like a twister.
Yeah! Wonderful! She shouldn’t have left in the first place. She’s hot, fun, dynamic, I think she should return to the series and get back together with Derrick! Meredith’s a bore…Almost every other (major) character on the show is more interesting and/or appealing then her. Bailey, Izzie, Yang, George…And btw I miss Burke too!

It reminds me of the episode where Mer was drowning… There was a scene where Derek was crying, saying it was his fault. Addie said ‘you should not break down..’ Remember? It was an amazing scene!

I am one of many who grew to really enjoy Addison. It was a shame that she went to PP, but the best of luck to KW with that show.
As for Addison’s involvement with the MerDer situation; I think she would be quite disgruntled- After all, she tried hard to save her marriage for it to be undone by McDreamy’s supposed love for Meredith, but only a moment after she has left the scene Derek is off with another women!! I can envisage perhaps one scene, between Addison and Derek, about MerDer. Even if to just broach the subject.

You’re way off. Don’t forget that although Addison tried to save her marriage, she witheld from Derek the fact that she had a long term relationship with Mark. She knew that the Derek wanted to be with Mer, which is why she was not honest with him. Since Addie still loved Derek, she knew that for Derek to be happy, he needed to be with Merideth, which is why she told him not to hurt her again.
Oh my god YES! This is the best news ever! Addison was my favourite character! I love Kate Walsh but honestly, she’s better suited for Grey’s Anatomy than Private Practice. I hope that when she comes back people will refuse to send her back to the nosediving private practice and she will remain at Seattle Grace. Shonda will realize her mistake and call her back to us! Preferably with Alex.

(I read this a few days ago but was really busy to reply… but I just had to read it again, since I was watching grey’s and missed her soooooo much) She really needs to get back to SGH, she’s a SGH person not an ocean wellness group person… she’s way to great for that tiny thing the call clinic…. hehehe… we need to do something to get her back to grey’s, she did soooo much for the show, with all her sarcasm and everything… Luv ya Kate!!!
That’s great. See how well liked this character is!!! She was hated at first. I’m with the person who said that she should get back with Derek, and that Meredith is a bore. That would be the all time thing for me is for her to get back with Derek, and that Derek will realize that it is her that is his real love. That would be the ultimate. Enough of this Mer/Der crap. To bad that she couldn’t be top notch star on the Grey’s show. Well, if PP doesn’t work out, then hopefully she will be able to come back and she would be the one building the dream house with Derek. But, if Shonda doesn’t want that, then I’ll take Rose. I know there are rumors that Mer/Der are going to be back together, but I really hope that it will go down the wasteside. Ever since Addie came in and even Rose came on, it got more interesting. This whole thing with Mer/Der is like someone else said-BORING.

i love addission. i hope she and dereck make up . we will finaly get to see how their love was . we never really got to see a real happy married couple on the show. i think addie and dereck can pull that off. meredith is coming a little boring , to many issues . i also love the difference rose brings out in dereck
