Confirmed: Grey's Anatomy to Return April 24
ABC announced today that Grey's Anatomy will return Thursday, April 24, at 9 p.m. EST, with the first of five original episodes.
Let the countdown begin! Five new episodes makes 16 for this fourth season, which leaves us short of the usual 20-plus, but at least it's something.

i want mer to flirt a little with mark so derek will get his act together and also because derek and mark can have a chance to clear things up 4 good and be true friends again.
i also want mark and christina together, and 4 rose to get hit by an abulance (and when she is in the OR the machines break, but who can fix them? what an irony!......what?? it could happen)

Honestly, I'm getting sick of "MerDer." I'm anxious to see Meredith with a new love...maybe someone who will give her some room to adjust and add some FUN to her life? I want George and Izzie to get back together! What the heck happened there? Their relationship was over in three episodes! And let's see Mark with Callie. I think that would be interesting!

I want Mer/Der back together so bad, but I think Shonda will keep them a part for a while. I just have this feeling it isn't going to happen as quickly as we want it. Thats ok as long as we see them working through some of their issues in the remainder of this season but showing us signs that they are working themselves back to each other before season 5. I certainly hope while they are working on their issues that they get rid of Rose! I don't want her to be a part of whats going on with Mer/Der. I don't want Derek starting a relationship with her. That would really hurt the Mer/Der lovestory that we have all gorwn to love.
Maybe Shonda will prove me wrong and it happens right away, but I just don't think it will. She has said so many things in her previous podcasts that lead us the fans to believe that Mer/Der could never really break up and there was a magnetic pull between them. They truly do love each other! So where are we now?????? Where does the lovestory go from here???? Thats the BIG question. I just hope to see them back together soon!

I want Izzie and George to stay together but I think the writers will break them up, via a pregnant Callie.I hope this breakup is not permanent and takes place during the season finale so Iwe will have a few more episodes of Gizzie.Hopefully I am wrong

I think Derek and Meredith should get back together and stay. I would also like to see Bailey and Tucker work out their problems as well. I also miss that really great friendship that George and Izzie had before Callie entered the picture.

i like the idea of rose just understanding that there is something greater with derek and meredith, and that she will understand. then i think there will be more people who like her. haha. but i think they should get back together no matter how it happens, that is what we first started off with in season one, them two together, but there should at least be a point when the two of them say hey...we need to cut the crap and just meet in the middle.
I dont really know what to say as far as george and his love triangle. I almost want to say that callie wore the pants in the relationship or should i say marriage. I dont know if george likes that very much. But i would love to see callie start dating.
Dr. Bailey poor thing...i feel so bad i dont even know what to say. i just hope things work for the better.
Bottom line is we just needed our Grey's back!!!

I really dont think meredith should be in a relationship right now, not with derek not with anyone. She needs time on her own to solve her issues. As for derek....i am so over him, he can do what he wants....but at the end of the day we all know he will never be happy without mer...or maybe be would who knows....oh well i wish him luck.
Christina should be respected and be given a solid storyline.
as for the rest every character is so complicated i dont even know where to begin......
Shonda please do fix grey's.

I want bailey to get back together with her husband and have more flirting in the film, I do not want to see live surgery, the flirting part and affairs was the best part of the show. It will be fun to see Mark having an affair with Meredith, Christina seems totally lost needs to be more active and may be having back her proffesor from University, the one she lives with during the med school.

ill be satisfied when meredith and derek get together and are HAPPY and when rose dies a painful death. she can die by getting ran over by an ambulance. then a stampede of elephants will come along and smash her to little pieces. finally, meredith will come up with giant ugly very thorny wilted roses and stab her with the rose's huge gigantic pointy thorns. the end.

I know that it's for sure not gonna happen in 5 episodes, but like most of you, I want Mer/Der together and Rose out. I think Derek needs to learn to stay single for a little while, but at the same time Meredith needs to learn some trust. I also really like Izzie and Alex together and want that back. I think George should have someone new, and Callie too. I definitely think Mark should be with Hahn. He's grown a lot character-wise, and I think it's great that he's falling for someone for a reason other than her looks.

I would just like to say, I am a full on hardcore Grey's Anatomy Lover!And here's what I want to happen:
Meredith and Derek-Back together for at least most of a season. Full on together, Meredith gabs to Christina and Derek smiles constantly when she walks into the room. Christina needs a man. Izzie, get with Alex or someone completely new. I do remember mama O'mally yelling at the hardly divorced couple and insisting they fix things-could that work out? Lexie should get out of the picture a bit too. Or she could also use a man. I think this would be the ONLY way to get this season back to the beautiful season 1 we've ALL been missing.

Okay Izzie needs closure after denny. She moved on to george a little too quickly. I don't think she really found any closure either. she just moved on. So what I WISH would happen is (and shonda if ur listening!) that Izzie would take a trip and spend some time with Denny's parents surrounding herself with that, and there and only there do I think she'll find true closure. :)

Alright I want the Ladies of greys to have a girls night out road trip somehing after all the boys did it I want Christine to have a better story line and I want her to find love I want callie to find love again as well and kick Izzy's butt Mer/Der/Rose well I am tired of that relationship it is time that they all learn to be by themselves for a while I just hope that the next episodes are more fun you know

I think the writers consistent storyline that makes Meredith a perpetual victim of "worst case scenarios" is going to eventually backfire and very quickly. Viewers are not only forgiving of characters that constantly screw up their lives with poor decisions or commit adultery, betray their friends and family, surrender their integrity for lust and greed and stabbing their friends in the back for their own personal gain, but they thrive on those storylines. Those are realistic and believable storylines for a primetime weekly drama.
What is not believable or even likeable is current direction the writers are taking with Meredith.
• Her father abandoned her after her parents divorced.
• Her mother was a self-centered bitch who not only felt but voiced to Meredith she was a burden to her and was the reason the love of her life wouldn't leave his wife to be with her.
• She has the classic commitment issues because her father abandoned her, i.e. the on vs. off cycle of Meredith and Derek.
• Just beginning to get reacquainted with her dad and beginning to learn and enjoy the comforting, over protecting and supportive mom from her stepmother who suddenly dies of some ridiculous and absurd complication from hiccups. Seriously!
• Then of course her father once again rejects her and blames her for her stepmother's death.
• Her stepsister not only chooses the same hospital to do her residency in she choose the same program.
• Oh, and she drowns and has some death experience. Which is almost believable because it was a cold water drowning, but just barely. But then her mom dies at the exact same time she begins to come back because it was suggested that her mom died to go and save her.
• Oh, (again) she was involved in an explosion that killed three people that were less than twenty feet away from her BUT knocked her probably twenty feet but she didn't sustain any cuts, bruises, burns or broken bones.
• Oh, (again) her dogs dies from cancer.
All these tragic things happening to a person over and over again is just not believable and if we wanted to watch a storyline like that we could just watch Days of Our Lives. Her mother was this great surgeon but her surgical skills and ability is never discussed, nor is her interest in a particular specialty ever mentioned, but we do know she likes tequila shots and since this is a show about medicine knowing more about her tequila preference is probably more important than knowing about her surgery skills.
So, inclusion, Meredith's stringy hair really matches her worst case scenario tragic life.

Get rid of Rose, work things out with Derek and Meredith. If Derek was ready to move into a house and build a future with Meredith, how can he be ready to get into a relationship with someone else later that very day? stupid. he should have a lot of meredith-baggage or something and have rose dump him. whatever, just dont have rose and derek together. that is ridiculous.

I've been a true Grey's watcher since the first episode.
If I were one of the writers this is the direction I'd take the show:
We were left with Derek and Meredith ending their "go around" but getting "no place" relationship and Derek asking Rose to dinner. Derek thinks he knows what he wants but does he? One day he's kissing a scrub nurse the next day he's wanting to build a dream home for Meredith. He wants Meredith he always has. His knee jerk reactions to things are coming out of a place of frustation. I think this is what Meredith and Derek both need at the moment. They need to be apart and realize what's at stake. In order to be truly happy together, they need to bring about clarity into their lives.
Meredith begins serious therapy to overcome her issues and misses Derek terribly. She is longing for him and does her best to put on a brave face and numb her pain. They have awkward moments but
the feelings are still there.
Derek will start to date Rose but she is a substitute for Meredith. He's trying like heck to get over her. He really wants to move on, but he won't be able to and Rose will start to see that.
It will become especially evident when Meredith walks into Joe's with Mark Sloan and sits down and has a drink with him. She's laughing and having fun and she's enjoying Mark's company. We are all assuming at this point that Mark is just being a lame friend and wants to sleep with Meredith. In other words "he's just being Mark." But is he?
Derek is there and becomes annoyed in front of Rose. Derek becomes increasingly annoyed and approaches Mark and words are exchanged. Derek pointing out that he should have never let him back in his life and that he's still a snake. Mean while Meredith gets up and leaves the bar and goes home. Then Mark says to Derek, in a very dry manner, "Did it ever occur to you that maybe I am your friend?"
(Meaning he was trying to get a reaction out of Derek on purpose, so that Rose would see his true feelings for Meredith and move along. And, the thing with Addison, Mark knew all along that Derek never truly loved Addison.)
As Rose witnesses this reaction from Derek, Rose will turn to Derek and say, like I said, "Everyone knows about you and Meredith Grey." She will be mature about it, but let Derek go back to where his heart belongs. Derek rushes over to Meredith's house and finds her sobbing on the sofa all alone.
This is the first time he sees her crying and being emotional. She finally opens up to him and tells him her true feelings. She tells him how her father abandoning her has always made her feel undeserving of love. She tells Derek how therapy has helped her move past those issues. She tells Derek that she truly loves him and wants to be with him completely. Derek also realizes that Mark
Sloan may have a funny way of showing it, but is indeed his friend.

Hey Greyswatcher: I just love the storyline you just created! Now that would be an episode well worth watching. Both Mer and Der need something to happen that will make them realize that they need to be together! I'm sure Rose will serve her purpose though.
I wish Dr. Bailey and Tucker would work things out in that marriage. They have a beautiful son to raise.....together. Tucker knew what he was up against when he married a doctor. He never should have volunteered to be a "house husband".
I want to see Callie and George move on to other people. He never loved her as much as she loved him anyway. Neither one needs to be married right now. And Christina needs a man!!
Alex needs to get into a serious relationship. I don't think he needs to be with Ava or Lexie either. He doesn't need to go back to Izzie because they just had a physical relationship anyway. Izzie needs to get over Denny and not jump into anyone else right now.
Mark doesn't need to be with Dr. Hahn. He needs a relationship outside of that hospital. He has practically slept with every woman there!
Well, whatever happens, I'M SO LOOKING FORWARD TO APRIL 24TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
