Team Mer-Der all the way. Mer needs therapy, badly (very badly). Derek needs to figure out what love really means because Rose is not the antidote for a broken relationship/heart. All Rose will be is pure rebound material. If the McThorny relationship does progress to anything serious, I will ditch GA. I have hope for Mer-Der because we all saw the love in his eyes for Mer when she walked away after the breakup.

I love George's character but if you trace his history, he cannot have a platonic relationship for very long. The only long term female characters on GA females that he has not mated with is Bailey & Cristina. Lexie will be his next mate if he rooms with her.

I am totally sick of this on/off thing with MERDER!
How many shows play this same old DULL FRUSTRATING thing of on/off and finally as the series is ending they get together. We want to ENJOY them together before the show ends! Just let them get together and have the love,passion, and INTAMACY! Their intamacy scenes are some of the best scenes between them! " Bright and Shiny MERDER" GIVE US THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER! They will still have plenty of issues to keep us watching! Like can you see Meredith becoming a mommy! It might just kill her! Shondra I have the perfect scenerio for the next show that gives all of us what we want.
Let Derek and Rose go out to eat. Have Mer hook up with Mc Steamy to GRIPE about Derek and they end up at the same restaraunt. Mc Steamy thinks about taking advatage of pissed off Mer but then does the right thing and makes Mer realize that Der really loves her. Have Mer fall apart and Mc Dreamy reaches across the table and touches Mer. Der sees this and the Green EYED MONSTER comes to kill Mc Steamy! Realizes that Mer is a devestated- feels like SHIT! Up walks ROSE and Mer runs out of the restaraunt. Derek follows- Gets hit by a car (his turn to be at the hospital-Mer's been in there enough!!!) Mer realizes how much she loves Der-Let her do some crying! Then Derek wakes up with no memory of her and so she has to make him fall in love with her all over again! Are they really soul mates? Who wouldn't tune in to watch that! It should eventually end at the end of the season with her character continuing to grow and asking Derek to marry her. Then bring back the real Mc Dreamy that communicates and loves MER. Like the scene where he yells at her at work and then shows up at the house and MER thinks that it is over and he tells her that they will fight but he will always come home to her! (He realizes that she doesn't understand that about relationships!) That is the guy we want back! Since ABC likes Rose and she is suposedly signed on for a few episodes. She can try and give Mer a run for her money but PLEASE there is NO CHEMISTRY beween them. The kiss was awkward and Derek is standing their flirting with Rose as he is ending it. THe kiss was good? GAG ME! Atleast when they had MER kiss MCVET there was still HEAT! The scene where he comes to bring IZZIE lunch after Denny dies. After that kiss MER was knocking her head against the wall! We love Grey don't turn it into frustrating show.
Also why wasn't George taking care of Bailey instead of MER and DER. George and Bailey have a special relatinship! George would have been there for her.

what did derek do wrong? he kissed rose. he kissed rose AND he didn't tell meredith. he laid out the house plans the day after he kissed rose, and he expected meredith to embrace it. he told meredith once that he can't leave her, and now he's told her "i can't do this".
meredith's got issues, sure, but i can see that she gave the relationship as much as she CAN give. derek, now he's just whiny and impatient and very inconsistent. :(

I'm indifferent. On one hand I am team Derek. I'd give anything to have a guy that I like/love tell me that he wanted to build a house for us.[It's means he has plans for us and that he sees me in his future and only me] But at the same time I'm team Meredith. I think the house plans are too much for her and I can kind of see why this would scare her away[and why for like the 100th time she would bring up his marriage to Addison again] She needed an excusse to bail. But I also feel like she soo blew that kiss out of proposition. It was just a kiss and to be honest...I don't think that it really meant anything. I find it amusing sometimes because my brother has a Derek and Meredith in his life. He watched his friends fight and make up since 11th grade. For 14 years they did like MerDer until she got pregnant and now they have been happily married for 6 years. I know that we won't have to wait that long until MerDer are back together and actually happy but I know it will happen. I just have to learn to take the good with the bad because I know it will be great in the end.
HEY Ry, that was exactly my point in saying, really they started to really be with each other in season 3. So really its only been a year. I know people might come back with the response that they have been through a lot.
So my point is, in any normal relationship, any girl in here tell me if im wrong. If you slept with a married man, and been through hell and back because you did, and you had all these problems with him. Then everything is cool, but you've still only knew him for a year...what would you say to a building a house?!?! and GETTING MARRIED!!! that is nuts.
But they are in love..but meredith was 100 truth full when she said there are 100 steps in between now and getting a house. They need to know they can trust each other in an actual relationship.

I am still holding out HOPE where Mer/Der are concerned. They may have ended it for now, but have they REALLY? I truly believe (if the strikes ends soon) that Shonda will play this out alittle longer but Meredith and Derek will find their way back to each other sooner than later. They have to because they truly do love each other and even though they are mad at each other for so many reasons right now, again the look on Dereks face when the camera zoomed in on him when they were all watching over Bailey and her baby was all I needed to know that Derek has NOT given up on Meredith, he thinks he has but he hasn't.

Someone else had posted this link (article) earlier and after reading it, I truly agree with it. Even thought it was written before the last episode aired there is so much of it that rings true to what I think will happen with Mer/Der in the near future. I also liked the way they brought in the podcasts comments from Shonda/Betsy and compared it to what has happened up to this point. Whats so funny about it is I had thought about their comments as well and have been trying to piece it all together too. Like what does this mean? and all the things Shonda has said about what would be happending to Meredith's growth and gettting to where she needs to be and the magnetic pull Mer/Der have between them that can never be broken. Trying to find some bit of HOPE to hang on to convincing myself they are NO WAY OVER. (Call me crazy, or I'm just eat up with this show and this couple). But its fun I have to admit. Here is the link again. Definately worth reading. Its very interestiing to read other peoples views on Mer/Der.

I agree with allaboutsloan and S and sarah. Derek is being a slimy jerk this season. I also think that Mer needs to get Sloan's attention. Derek has "moved on" to Rose. Wouldn't it be nice if Shonda would either do a podcast or post a letter/article to us the fans on the ABC/Grey's Anatomy website? It would be nice to know what she was thinking about these characters at this point. There has been no news since Nov. (before the strike) except for a few interviews from some of the cast members when they were out and about.
Us the fans are suffering alittle too.
