If we were in the midst of a real TV season, we would know what programs are going to air when. But this is Strike Season, the network executives are basically throwing everything they have against the wall and seeing what sticks.
To that effect, ABC has announced a change in the air date for what will in all likelihood be the final Grey's Anatomy of the season, while NBC has announced yet another premiere date for the destined-to-bomb Celebrity Apprentice.
Grey's Anatomy's strike-induced, likely season finale was originally supposed to air back on December 13. ABC pushed it back to January 3 in order to make sure viewers don't keep the TV off after the ball drops on New Year's Eve.
Celebrity Apprentice was originally supposed to premiere on that same night, but once NBC realized it would be going up against Grey's Anatomy, well, they scooped up Celebrity Apprentice and scheduled it for January 10.
Not even NBC will mess with Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson).
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC is making a move that has NBC fuming: they're moving the last unaired Grey's Anatomy episode, the 11th of Season Four, to January 10, right up against Celebrity Apprentice.
So what does NBC do?
Under normal circumstances, perhaps the Peacock would put up a fight, but its patented "writers strike freakout schedule" is at stake, so no dice. Instead, NBC moved Celebrity Apprentice back to its original January 3 premiere date.
All of this just goes to show you: Donald Trump may be willing to put up his dukes against Rosie O'Donnell, but Dr. Miranda Bailey? Forget about it!
The WGA strike - which is wreaking havoc with schedules and cutting short the seasons of hit shows old (Grey's Anatomy, CSI) and new (Gossip Girl, Private Practice) looks poised to continue into its second month with no end in sight.
At issue are pay scales for online-driven royalties as well as an ideological battle between the WGA and the studios that employ its members. Only time will tell how it plays out, but the remainder of the TV season is undoubtedly in jeopardy.

Episode 11 cannot be the season final....cant the writers continue the stories in the season4 after the strike??
This strike is giving me the SH***ts. Why cant ABC and the studios settled. It is only fair that the writers take a good cut in their work when aired. After all it is THEIR work.
PSSSST Shonda, I want Alex and Izzie back together in the new eppy.

Well, the strike and lack of Grey's is seriously depressing along with the current situation with MerDer. So I've resorted to returning to happier times and have been re-watching Season1. Ahh, to savor the sweet times of MerDer and only hope there will be more of that in the near future. Rose must GO!

okay, you are totally right!!! ahh, to remember the good times of season one! there were complications but they were so much sexier! man, Rose just has to GO!!! (a comment i can't make to my mother, as she is a nurse! :0 ) anyway, i'm hoping that since mer and der have never been able to stay away from each other in the past that maybe they won't be able to stay away from each other for too long now. then again, we won't really know, b/c of this evil strike!!! COME ON ABC, GIVE THE WRITERS THEIR FAIR SHARE AND MOVE ON!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!
Grey's Rules!!! Seriously!! :)
