Any more word on if Joshua Jackson is appearing on this episode? I thought I read earlier this year that he would be appearing in the 11th episode.

Marissa you are so right! The point in Merder is that we loved them for loving eachother sooo much and we felt for them when they couldn't be together. Most fans respected that as it seemed right for Mc Dreamy to honer his vows-at least try to. We didn't give up then-we actually came to like Addison. In fact even today we talk about how great-maybe the best-that season was.
So it absolutely makes no sense that Meredith cannot have this relationship. This whole storyline with their break-up and especially with Rose, is off-handedly written and serves an obvious purpose:re-create that emotion of hope and wonder we had in season two. But then we felt that for a couple who seemed perfect, wanted to be together but actually couldn't. This is not the case here.
Derek is reluctant to wait the love of his life.
Meredith is reluctant to commit.
It's not surprising that a host of viewers are reluctant to keep believing in Merder.

They need to get over the Mer Der thing or follow through with it. I'm tired if all this wishy washiness. Yeah, and the Izzy crying all the time is getting on my last nerve. Stick with what worked!!!!!!!

I'm kinda hoping that Derek being with Rose makes Meredith realize how much she loves him. I hope that Derek comes clean to Meredith and hope that he tells her thet Rose is looking for a relationship. Just like the one he wants, long term and forever. He'll say that Mer doesn't have the courage to commit, and Mer will realize that if she wants to be with Derek, she has to at least try to commit more than she has been. I won't stop watching Grey's if Mer/Der calls it quits, but I sure won't pay as much attention to them both as a "couple". I agree that if it weren't for break-ups and mis haps, the show wouldn't be as interesting, and there would be less suspense and viewers. However, I also agree 100% with Loyal Fan. Keep on goin' strong Mer/Der!

This is way out of hand, Shonda!!! I can't believe that my, OUR, favourite show is turning into a bad soap opera. I mean, seriously, look at what's happening to this characters. Let's look at Merder. Wasn't it in the first episode of season 3, Derek declared is everlasting, un-dying love for Mer, then again in the last episode and even in FREAKING season 4!!! How do you go telling somebody that, letting them believe you'll never leave them - not matter what, - to start relationships with random scrubnorses by the name of a flower (sorry to all you Roses out their, nothing bad about the name, just sick of G.A's Rose) ???? McDreamy is being a McBastard. And why is all Alex ever do is getting in somebody's scrubs? (Not that I mind him half naked), but that character holds so much potential and we don't know anything about him and he never has a decent storyline!!! And what's with Izzie and George. I actually used to think it was touching watching their interaction and dealing with their drunken-sex-thing, but now it's just wierd, wrong and ARHG-like. Well. Okay. And give Mark a freaking storyline and more Callie-dealing-with-her-life. Let MerDer be freaking BRIGTH AND SHINY!!!

thank you Lauren! we all need to remember that there are also other characters on this show that we love dearly! maybe it's time to take the heat off of the Mer-Der thing for a while and focus on some new plotlines! I'm not saying I don't want them together, nor am I stating that this relationship doesn't matter (it's what hooked us to the show to begin with, or at least with me! and no one can deny that the show is NAMED after one of these characters...), but when Mer-Der were having their problems, who didn't love watching all the other interns lives, like Christina and Burke or Izzy and Denny relationships and George's hysterical awkwardness or the Chief's attempt to pick up ladies?

I just want to see Mer really happy again! Whether it is with Derek or with Fin, or any other cute charming guy. And I want to see Mer and Christina (good) friends again. It doesn't seem like they have been treating eachother very well lately.

Lauren, i feel u,i am scanning the posts trying to get sum info on Alex and Ava,im sick of hearing about merder,i love mcdreamy and i do believe he has put himself out there for her and there is only so much he can go and maybe he needs to walk away and if they are meant to be they will,he cant force it and i wud like to c him get his own life and another storyline they are turning him into a woman.Any news on Alex and Ava pls????

this is rediculous, there are so many things that they could have going wrong with people in the show yet its always meredith and derek. did any1 see the preview where derek asks rose on a date, and like begs her. SHES NOT EVEN PRETTY, i really dont like her at all wow. and to think that this is the season finally and now its gonna end like crap. i totally agree that derek isnt so mcdreamy anymore. UGH. rose is ruining the show i dont like her. and shondra said this is supposed to be the coming together season, unlike last season where it was everything falling apart. wow this stinks..

I agree. And i believe that all the storylines since last season are leniently mediocre.
Remember how this show started? Three young, smart, competative interns, their sweet friend George, a real McDreamy etc. And now almost everyone has slept with everyone, McDreamy is not McDreamy, Meredith can't stop whining, George and Izzie commited adultery and they don't even know if they want to be together. I'm not saying it should be all bright and shiny, on the contrary, but don't ruin for us all the things that attracted us to Grey's in the first place and made us love this show!
I know Grey's can do so much better. It used to have the most compelling stories, insightful writting, and above all original, unpredictable plot.
Now it seems that the writers are tired, they are repeating themselves and they made it too easy for us to predict what's gonna happen:and that's because, as a lot of fans are saying, it's becoming a soap-opera:so yes, merder will break up again, with no realistic reason, of course they'll get together again at some point, and so on..
I just want to remind Shonda that she had said over and over that all she wants is to make people have fun with the show.
Do you think this is still in effect?

obviously everyone is really upset about this mer der thing, but come on... rose isnt a regular so nothing major is gonna happen between those two.. unfortunately regulars are the only people who can actually stay together (so ava and alex i know cant go very far'=$)
thanks for everyone who agreed that mer and der are not the only ones on the show... dont get me wrong i think their great together, but i mean there are others... so come on..
here's what i think is gonna happen
-Alex's "romantic decision" -> i think he's gonna go to ava's house and (she's not listed as a guest star) so her husband is gonna answer and thats when he's gonna figure everything out
-Bailey's baby is gonna be fine, but i think Tucker may have caused the accident because he wasn't able to control his anger
-As for George's mom and that whole cliffhanger hm.. this is a tough one... im not sure =]

i totally agree with all of you. there are other characters but it is turning out like a boring soap opera. and mcthorny is totally pointless it's not like rose is a regular, so she's eventually gonna die or disappear. i hope she dies =)
but even so, derek and meredith may not remain together =(

I can't beleive DEREK KISSED ROSE it is so wrong. I want Derek and Meredith to be happy and and have a long reationship. It is so sad that there is only 11 episodes in Season4. I wish there was more...

i hate rose!!... she's such a bitch.... and i really really miss Addison, she had something, she was the bad one and then everybody loved her!!, the show its different now, Mark is only like bored without her... we need better stories for Alex or Hahn.... i'll wait for that episode. tucker in the O.R. that's so so sad... Mer is becoming silly, she runs away all the time!!, but i love her character anyway
