Ellen Pompeo Wins Golden Satellite Award
Just a quick note to inform fans of Ellen Pompeo that the Grey's Anatomy star won the International Press Academy Golden Satellite Award for best actress in a drama series in Los Angeles last night! Go Ellen! See the list of winners here.
Ellen Pompeo was honored for her work on Grey's Anatomy.
While other Grey's Anatomy cast members may dominate headlines, it's nice to see Ellen Pompeo recognized for her continuous great work as Meredith Grey. We're enormous fans of this Boston-bred actress on a personal level, as well.
It's certainly been an eventful year for the star. Pompeo celebrated her 38th birthday last month by getting married privately to longtime boyfriend / fiance Chris Ivery.

Congratulations to Ellen on winning the award! It is definitely well deserved, and I also have my fingers crossed for the SAGs this thursday. Really sad to know that there is only one episode left pre-strike, and that airs January the 3rd. But, congrats. She is very talented. ^^

I'm happy for her. It's nice to see her efforts being recognized. Considering all the stuff Shonda dumps on her week after week, she deserves a lot more. It takes great acting chops to do deliver a good performance despite the confusing and sometimes contradictory scripts.

Gary .. did you seriously write that???? what world are you living in?? it's nice to love a tv show, obviously we all do. But lets try to seperate the real world from Television.
Pd and EP are happily married and very good friends. they make lovely couples with their significant others. Its really wonderful to see.

All in all this is one great year for Ellen.

-Her show picked up a SAG
-Her show picked up a peoples choice award
-She was nominated for 2007 Globe
-She was honored by the NIAF in washington
-She got to have dinner with oprah in her house .. hehe :)
-signed on for 7 more seasons with ABC.
-GOT MARRIED
-She WON the satellite best actress in Drama series award.
if that doesn't mark success, then I don't know what does. way to go Ellie.
