This really is a HUGE disappointment! All we can do is hope and pray that things get resolved soon! I feel so sorry for the crew members that will not get paid until production starts back. When they met this week at least they did come up with a tentative agreement even though it was shot down according to the article above, so lets hope when they meet again on Tuesday of next week that another proposal will be given to the writers and an agreement will be made! As long as something is decided before the first of the year, I'd feel better about the season reopening but the longer it goes through to 2008, it makes me think we'll have to wait until Sept. for the new season to begin. Lets really hope that doesn't happen!
And another thing, I really wish they would not hold off in showing episode 11! I know we always have reruns during the holidays but with everything going on with the strike and knowing we only have (1) episode left after this week...that just doesn't seem fair to the fans! We have heard so much about what is suppose to happen in this last (supposively cliff-hanger) episode. (especially with Mer/Der) Why make us wait?? I think they may be forgetting we the fans will be sufffering too!
I sure hope things get back to normal soon so we can get back on track with our favorite show...GA!

It just seems like the writers are being greedy, the last proposal gave them everything the originally asked for. In the mist of them being so greedy, our favorite shows are going down the drains. Grey's can't handle something like this, its ratings are already suffering. I just think its really sad that they can't be mature adults and come up with something. Right now, the writers look like money hungry asses.

read this article where someone interviewed PD. It states again that he hopes that the dynamic between Mer/Der moves forward when filming starts back after the strike ends! Always like to hear PD say he wants Mer/Der together and we've read and heard him say that alot. He wants their relationship to move forward as much as we do!
Kathy, thks for the link, but, i am kind of puzzled as to Why dempsey doesnt want to talk about PP. i mean did i miss something? As for merder r/ship i dont think even dempsey has the power to make Shonda do what she doesnt want to do. He like all of us is just hoping something will be done.

Why the hell did they air the blumin series if they were going to take a break? i mean, whats the point, and they only write it, if they were bothered they shouldn't write it in the first place, now i'm totally gutted and considering not even watching it, i am a total fan, and i'm addicted to all the action but why should i as a fan wait a year to watch flamin episodes? its stupid! who is with me?

For those of you who are calling the writers greedy, you'd realize they just want what they deserve if you knew what they were fighting over. The hottest topic is that the writers don't get a single penny for DVD sales, iTunes, and online airings of episodes (where ABC sells advertising to make a profit). They're being totally ripped off by the producers, and even the actors are behind them. If you keep up with the news you'll hear people talking about how a lot of the actors are picketing with the writers. I saw a clip of Jay Leno, who is REALLY affected because he's used to airing new shows every day, passing out donuts to the strikers outside NBC offices in CA.
Okay, here's what I think: the writers deserve to be paid more, for the work they do and the work they are not very well recognized for. They also deserve a little slack from viewers. If we are SO hung up on the fact that we can't watch our shows, what respect do we have? But, the writers were given (what I think is) a good deal, which they could have accepted. So let's see what happens...!

As far as PD having any influence over what happens to Mer/Der, I don't kow. And PD did say that it seems that Shonda is listening more now to what people have to say about things. Lets just hope that she is really listening to how we all feel about the Mer/Der situation!! Get rid of ROSE and Lets get these two back together Shonda! You could have great storylines with them as a married couple and what fun that would be! Meredith getting pregnant and Derek becoming a father. That would be so much fun to watch that unfold with these two! Don't you think?
I interpret what PD was saying (in that interview on the above link), is that he wants the MerDer relationship to be settled one way or another. He implies that he has talked at length to Shonda, to either go forward or end it. I think he will be relieved if she goes either way. I know his original statements were always wanting MerDer together, but every time he discusses them he sounds really frustrated with the off and on thing, and wants it resolved.
Apparently from what he said about PP, there was conflict among the cast over Kate's leaving. Obviously they kept that pretty much in-house, which is how the other conflict should have been handled as well.
I'm sure many of us would love to see MerDer happily married and becoming parents together. I just don't think its realistic to expect bright and shiny from dark and twisty Shonda.

I was checking my tivo this morning for all upcoming listings for Patrick Dempsey this week (which I check everyday) and I see where GA will air Crash into Me Part I on Tuesday night and Part II on Thursday night. Just thought I'd let everybody know.
(I love my tivo because it lets me know everything that will be televisied with PD that I would not necessarily know about)!!

This strike has lasted long enough there are enough recorded vidioes to last forever, all the strikers are only pissing off veiwers and loosing fans, no one wants to watch the reruns the one show that they do follow. I will not be watching it if it takes to next year to air i have better things to do then wait for it and to check the websights to see if there will be anything good on tv.

Cleo, what a useless comment. Ofcourse Patrick did not hate Paddek. Washington and Kate Walsh were both one of the best cast members, especially Kate. Maybe Patrick is kinda frustrated because Shonda has to divide her attention for and Grey's and Private practice.. Maybe he's a little bit jealous because PP has much success?
I can understand he finds it frustrating about the merder break up thing.. Hope they 'll be together soon!

This is a little off topic i know but its my thoughts on MerDer. I have a funny feelin that Mark will have a big role in it, either breaking up or gettin them back together i'm not really sure. I've been watchin Mark closely since the premiere and he's too pally pally with Derek now. And Derek likes this because he's emotionally all over the place at the moment and he has never really had a friend at the hospital. mark is very keen to give derek advice about Mer. Sayin stuff like: Meredith is just an intern, you're addicted to her, she's a problem, you need to start datin, spreadin the word around when he KNOWS how derek feels about mer, tellin derek he's back in the saddle. There's somethin fishy goin on there. It's too quick or somethin. And Mark has always carried a torch for mer, hitting on her a few times. What does anyone else think?
